Kehlani BLASTS Ex's Claim She's Raising Daughter In Dangerous Cult -- And HE Has A Surprising Statement, Too!

Kehlani BLASTS Ex’s Claim She’s Controlled By Cult & Denies Putting Daughter ‘In Harm’s Way’

Kehlani is breaking her silence after those wild cult claims. To recap the weirdness…

On Monday, TMZ obtained court documents filed by the Good Thing singer’s ex Javaughn Young-White petitioning for full custody of their 5-year-old Adeya Nomi. In the bombshell filings, he claimed Kehlani, who uses she/they pronouns, is part of what he “would describe as a cult,” which “controls [her] actions and behavior, including when it comes to the upbringing of [their] daughter.” He went on to allege cult leader Neto “prevented” him from seeing Adeya for months because of a “vision” he had. Javaughn also alleged the cult leader has “numerous accusations of committing sexual assault against women and young girls,” and that he allegedly performs “religious ceremonies” on Adeya where no one is “allowed to be in the room.”

Even MORE disturbing, his court filings claimed that when Kehlani goes on tour, she leaves Adeya in the care of cult members whom she’s “given baths by” and “sleeps in bed with.” He even claimed that his ex allows “a member of the cult that she calls ‘Messiah,’ an adult woman, to take baths with Adeya while being under the influence of psychedelic drugs.”

Shocking and vile stuff if true. He also claimed that his name is not on Adeya’s birth certificate because of said cult. You can read more from his initial filings HERE.

But Kehlani is now VEHEMENTLY denying everything her ex said.

On Tuesday, the Gangsta singer took to her Instagram Story to slam the bombshell filings:

“What has been published in the media is incredibly hurtful, inaccurate, inappropriate, and simply untrue. I wanted to take the time to ensure that I responded to these accusations from a calm and considered space rather than a reactive one. I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm’s way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe. I also do not align with any of the allegations made against my former religious community that have been stated in the media.”

“My former religious community.” So is she saying she’s not involved with them anymore?

The 29-year-old, who has in the past been open about her involvement in Santeria, an Afro-Caribbean religion, continued:

“I have always taken great care to ensure that my child remains protected and safe at all times. My child and my commitment to motherhood have always been my sole driving forces in this life and will always remain so. This is who I am and what I have always been focused on. This is a legal, private, familial matter that will be handled accordingly, and I will now be taking space for my own personal well-being and, most importantly, for the well-being of my child. Thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. I will not be commenting further and will let the legal due process take place.”

We’re just happy to hear she’s prioritizing her daughter and is no longer involved in the religious group after all the concerning allegations. If ANY of what Javaughn claimed in his filings DID turn out to be true, it’d be a really dangerous environment for a child… But it sounds like his arguments for Adeya’s custody weren’t quite ready to be filed…

In a statement of his own, he called out TMZ, who first reported the news, for sensationalizing the family matter, particularly the “sex cult” language:

“I never said that I think Santeria is a sex cult. Nor did I say that my daughter is in a sex cult. That’s factually incorrect and I think it’s disgusting that TMZ would exploit a child’s image like that. Further, I have not been made aware of any court ordered mediation as of writing this per the account of TMZ. Personally, I would love for TMZ to justify to me, the father, how they came up with this narrative. The TMZ article sensationalized aspects of what was said while simultaneously breaching my confidentiality. Further, the filing of my case was incomplete and did not have my authorization by error of counsel. I am no longer represented by the aforementioned counsel. There will be an amended filing soon which will illustrate the full range of my concern.”

Wow. It sounds like Javaughn didn’t think the stories were accurate either!

The concerned father continued:

“I do not need to paint an unfair image of my co-parent for my justifiable feelings to be respected by the court of law. This unfortunate trauma only increases the obstacles in ensuring my child’s wellbeing. For now, I am hoping to clear the discrepancies made by TMZ. I hope to see a formal retraction and apology.”

Wow. It sounds like it wasn’t quite as dire as it was initially reported. Still, we really hope none of those initial claims were true, and that little Adeya is being kept safe.
