In 2010, Sarah Palin’s daughter appeared on Season 11 of the dance competition series and paired with professional dancer Mark Ballas. Despite low scores from the judges each week, the pair went very far in the show! A lot further than anyone expected! In fact, they placed third during the finale! Of course, her dodging elimination for weeks and ending up in the top three shocked and infuriated viewers! Even her fellow competitors — and the pros — were irritated by the outcome! And one person in particular wasn’t afraid to make sure Bristol knew their feelings about it, according to the 33-year-old reality star! (FYI, she later returned to the show for the all-stars season, where she and Mark were eliminated in week four.)

During an appearance on former DWTS pro Cheryl Burke’s Sex, Lies and Spray Tans podcast Monday, Bristol claimed Maksim Chmerkovskiy didn’t like her at all! Whoa! When the 40-year-old dancer asked who “rolled their eyes” at her and Mark every time she survived elimination, she replied:

“Oh, who? Maks? He hated me so much. I don’t know why [he didn’t like me]. Probably just because we kept going through. I mean, he was real nice in the beginning, but it was one of those things where as we kept going through. I definitely felt the tension from him. I forgot about that. Yeah, because the further we went along in it, the more it was like, ‘Oh gosh, okay.’”

Maks and his partner Brandy were the frontrunners of the season and then kicked off right before the finale. So yeah, we can see why he was probably very frustrated that Bristol and Mark made it through each week!

But as for whether he “hated” her? A rep for the dancer told People that’s simply not true. They said:

“Maks doesn’t hate anybody and he’s never hated Bristol. His bad boy reputation was overblown by the media at the time. He was really good at dancing and he was really competitive, which are two important qualities you need to be on Dancing with the Stars. Maks was disappointed because he and Brandy were on their way to win that year. He and everyone else in America were taken by surprise.”

Speaking to Cheryl Burke on her Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast, the soap star dished on his time as a competitor on Dancing With The Stars — and how it caused some issues at home. Cameron was on Season 5 way back in 2007, about five years into his marriage. He learned early on he’d be paired with Edyta Śliwińska, and that apparently didn’t sit well with someone… He recalled:

“She’s a very beautiful woman, and I don’t even know if Edyta knows this. I actually called Dina Katz, who’s my dear friend now, who at the time was casting director. I called her and I said, ‘Listen, I’m so happy that you’ve offered me the show. I can’t wait. I’m in. Just do me a favor. Put me with anybody but Edyta.'”

What?? Why??

“I knew my wife and I, we were going through a little bit of a challenge at that time, and Edyta didn’t wear a lot of clothes.”

Um… WHAT.

Reading between the lines here, it sounds like he was worried about Vanessa getting jealous. As in, he gave her a reason to be insecure about their marriage. That “little bit of a challenge” sounds to us like a really soft euphemism for “cheating scandal.” We should be clear, Cameron doesn’t come out and say that, but we don’t know how else to read this!

He elaborated:

“We’d recently gone through a bunch of stuff, and it wasn’t great timing and I was off in L.A. spending time with this beautiful woman, dressed up, against her, sweating with her five hours a day rehearsing, and then doing all the press and touring stuff together, and it was really hard.”

Hmm…

To be clear, Edyta was a newlywed, having just married investor Alec Mazo. So  The All My Children alum said the popularity of the show made it a real “pressure cooker” of nerves that forged a real bond between the dance pros and contestants:

“You become really close, and it works for the show, and it works for the people that are watching the show, but it doesn’t work for the family at home.”

Damn, he really is implying it was a struggle for his wife — though he says she was “a trooper” about the whole thing.

Back in 2007, the country singer competed on the fourth season of the show with professional dance partner Karina Smirnoff. At the time, he was in the spotlight again while portraying the lovable Robby Ray Stewart on Hannah Montana, which also starred his daughter Miley Cyrus. But it turns out what he portrayed on screen wasn’t always how he acted in real life — at least, based on what Cheryl once witnessed on set!

On an episode of her podcast Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans late last month, the ballroom dancer claimed she saw Billy Ray “physically hurt” the stage manager on DWTS. Whoa!!! She recalled to her guest Jill Escoto at the time:

“I love Billy Ray. He was always so nice to me. But I have to tell you the story. We have dress rehearsal right before we go live, about two hours prior to the show, and we do this as if it’s the real thing, except it’s like an R-rated version because [host] Tom Bergeron would always just talk s**t and it was so funny.”

While the cast would joke around and have a good time during the rehearsal, they also “took their dancing very seriously.” As Cheryl pointed out, the director had to get the lighting squared away so they “still had to get on our marks.” Toward the end of the dress rehearsal, a stage manager asked Billy Ray to “get on his mark,” so that “the director could light him.” However, the Achy Breaky Heart singer completely ignored him. The stage manager then asked him again to get on the mark several more times. But what does Billy Ray do instead of listening? The actor allegedly “donkey kicked him”! Over a simple request! Cheryl claimed:

“[The stage manager had] been asking like three, four times by then, and Billy Ray kicked him out of nowhere. Straight up donkey kicked him.”

OMG!

The 40-year-old television personality insisted the stage manager was “being so nice” before the assault. But afterward, the whole set turned into chaos:

“Don’t kick him, let alone, don’t kick anyone. It turned into a hot mess. His time was up after that. It was not OK. It came out of nowhere.”

Jeez. That is not cool to do to a crew member — or anyone! When Jill questioned if the kick was “an accident,” Cheryl shared that it was clear to everyone around that it wasn’t. She did mention that he was possibly “nervous” about the show since he was “getting crap from the judges.” But c’mon, there is no reason to kick someone for doing their job and asking you to do your job!

Burke said:

“No, it was very much intentional. Maybe he was nervous, but you can’t physically hurt somebody. You need to do your job. We’re not doing this for free either, by the way.”

This is not a good look for Billy Ray, especially amid the abuse allegations against him! Last month, Firerose claimed she dealt with “extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse” during their short-lived marriage. The Ready, Set, Don’t Go artist denied the allegations, claiming he was the one who physically, verbally, and emotionally abused in the relationship. However, audio leaked backing the claims made by Firerose!

In the clip, Billy Ray belittled her and called her “f**king selfish bitch,” a “f**king idiot,” and more. Over what? He was upset she supposedly didn’t want him to perform with Nicki Minaj at one of the rapper’s concerts. In the leaked clip, he also said Miley was a “skank,” and ex-wife Tish Cyrus was a “whore.”

Following the leak, Billy confirmed that he had indeed said all those cruel words to Firerose. He attempted to justify his actions by saying he was at his “wit’s end” and suspicious about her at that point. But at the end of the day, that is no excuse to tear someone apart like that!

Samantha Harris was one of the first Dancing with the Stars hosts, starring alongside Tom Bergeron beginning in season 2 and running until season 9 from 2006 to 2009. But in a shocking new interview with former pro dancer Cheryl Burke on her podcast Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans, Samantha revealed things weren’t always great with producers behind the scenes. As in, they once asked her to… look “pasty and pudgy”?! WTF!

Recalling the unfortunate conversation, she dished on Monday:

“I remember — I won’t say who in the network or executive team said this — but I remember I got a note. I got actually called into a meeting and they said, ‘So, Samantha, going to the next season…’ My interpretation was they said to me, ‘You need to be pasty and pudgy.’ But really what they said to me was, ‘You’re getting too tan and too toned that the viewers’ — and I’d like to give all of you listening as viewers a lot more credit then what they said — but the viewers ‘are confusing you with the dancers because you’re too tanned and too toned.'”

Jeez…

The show execs claimed viewers “need to be able to relate to you as the host being basically a complete dichotomy next to the dancers,” and so they requested she make a change, telling her:

“We need you to stop doing any self-tanning — which I’ll be honest, I tanned as much as you guys did — and to gain weight.”

Who asks someone that?! It’s one thing for an actor to decide to undergo a physical change for a role, but she was the host of a freaking reality TV competition, she did NOT need to be changing her appearance for anyone! It should’ve been obvious enough that she wasn’t a dancer when she was, y’know, not dancing!

Interestingly, the 50-year-old didn’t clap back at the request. While she was naturally shocked, she actually agreed to it since she had a secret up her sleeve:

“Usually you’re told to lose weight. I was actually told to gain weight. So of course I said, ‘Okay, of course, no problem. I got that covered,’ because little did they know — it was too early for me to share yet — I was pregnant, so I wasn’t going to be tanning because I didn’t know what the chemicals were that would be seeping into my body and I was going to be gaining weight.”

Hah! That worked well for her! Regardless, it was likely still s**tty to be told to put on weight when she “took a lot of pride in the fact that I was tanned and toned.” As she should!

The TV personality eventually left the show — but the real reason for her departure was kept quiet until now! A public statement at the time claimed she was exiting to pursue other hosting gigs, but she told Cheryl the producers decided not to renew her contract to shake up the show. Oof. That must’ve stung — especially after all this mess.

Viewers who tuned into Tuesday night’s episode of the celebrity dancing competition were in for a heartwarming surprise. As many will recall, longtime DWTS judge Len Goodman passed away at 78 back in April after serving as head judge for 17 years.

Both new and old performers were brought back for a touching ensemble dance to Moon River. But surprisingly, Sharna was NOT a part of that production — a decision that’s not sitting well with the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum. On Wednesday, he took to Instagram to write:

“I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I was for Sharna Burgess to not be invited for the tribute last night. It’s disappointing as well that none of her ‘family in the ballroom’ stuck up for her or spoke out.”

Notably, it was not just current pros. DWTS alums like Anna Trebunskaya, Edyta Sliwinska, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Karina Smirnoff, Kym Johnson-Herjavec, Louis van Amstel, Mark Ballas, and Tony Dovolani were all brought back to join the current crew.

Brian added:

“She’s an incredible soul and has always been a friend to everyone. She deserved better. #familystickstogether ”

Sharna sat out of Season 31 after the birth of her and Austin’s son Zane in June 2022 — but said she wasn’t invited back for Season 32.

The 50-year-old also added in his post’s caption that Sharna “wasn’t even invited to sit in the stands and watch,” and that fellow DWTS alum Cheryl Burke “should have been there as well.”

He wrote:

“Shame on that group of people. Kindness is an action, and so is love ”

The Dancing with the Stars alum stopped by The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever on Sunday, where she took her opportunity to call out its host Chris for a rumor that’s been bugging her for years: that he allegedly prevented her from being cast on The Bachelorette.

You see, once upon a time, Cheryl had her sights set on becoming the next lead of the ABC dating show. Unfortunately for her, she was never able to land the coveted spot. And it was for reasons she was told were at the discretion of Chris, who of course used to host the world-famous show. She confronted him about it, asking:

“I heard you blocked that. Did you not?”

Point blank!! But Chris was prepared. He responded:

“No. They put that on me. Yeah, like I have that much power, like I have the power to decide who the Bachelor [or] Bachelorette is.”

But she continued prodding! Cheryl added that she believes the studio “blamed” the casting decision on him due to her drinking?? She explained:

“So they told me that the reason that I didn’t get to do The Bachelorette is because Chris Harrison said you’re a sloppy drunk.”

Oof. As Perezcious readers know, alcoholism has been a sensitive part of Cheryl’s life story, but she’s thankfully gotten sober in recent years. Chris laughed off the speculation, though, responding:

“That’s so funny. They, in public, would never give me that kind of power … Yeah Mike [Fleiss] would ask me, or you know somebody would ask like, ‘Hey, like, what do you think about Emily Maynard? What do you think about Jason Mesnick?’ Or whatever, and I’d give my two cents.”

He continued:

“This is why I know it’s not true, there’s a lot of Bachelors and Bachelorettes — I won’t name anybody specific — that I didn’t think — well, actually, I’ll give you one: Sean Lowe, because he turned out to be a good friend and he’s great.”

Cheryl then pointed out the reality star is “still married,” to which Chris added:

“He’s our only success story. They really hang their hat on Sean Lowe.”

In Cheryl Burke‘s Sex, Lies & Spray Tans podcast on Tuesday, the dance pro revealed she had not one but two former celeb partners who crossed the line on the show and made her incredibly “uncomfortable”! Oh no! Brian Austin Green‘s wife-to-be spilled the tea:

“I have in the past had two partners that made me feel very, very uncomfortable. At the time I was much younger and I would laugh it up and suck it up and I would make it ok.”

Sharna did NOT name names. However, she did give some details to narrow it down…

She said the incidents dated “back years and years” before the #MeToo Movement (which started in 2017), which helped her her deal with all this, she noted:

“I learned during and after #MeToo, women coming forward and saying, from the big to the little things, I was like holy s**t that happened to me, I didn’t even realize that I could speak up about it.”

So, what happened? One of the men kept trying to flirt with her and would become frustrated when she didn’t reciprocate. On this, she jabbed, “You know what men are like.” Oof. Sadly, we do! But there were also more problematic situations, she continued:

“I had a situation with a partner where it got to the point where we couldn’t be alone in a room without people watching. That was a difficult situation for me.”

OMG!

Thankfully, the production team and network were super supportive of her, she recalled:

“I went through the proper channels and unfortunately I wasn’t able to record everything, but I was able to record some things and I did do the proper things and there were reports made and I was taken care of.”

SO great to hear! She also confirmed the harassment “was not sexual in any nature,” but as her friend Cheryl said:

“At the end of the day, no need to explain. You were uncomfortable. That’s a complete sentence.”

Amen!

Sharna wrapped up the segment, saying:

“I did the right thing and I went to the right people and I spoke up and I was able to do my job and not live in shame or fear.”

Innerestingly, she also discussed this on her own podcast Oldish earlier this month, in which she kiiiinda exposed one of the men! We think! While she didn’t say anyone’s name, she noted she wasn’t able to be alone with her partner during the show’s 29th season — and she was dancing with Jesse Metcalfe back then. That was only in 2020, BTW, so not that long ago! And not before #MeToo.

A rep for the Desperate Housewives star already denied the whole thing in a statement to Page Six, claiming the performer’s “vague insinuations are not only reckless but also irrelevant.” They added:

“The only recollection was that they didn’t get along.”

The spokesperson also said the Australian dancer was being “highly unprofessional” by making the “insinuations just to promote the first episode of her podcast.” As for Jesse, they said he would “not be commenting on this; he is taking the high road.” Wow.

On Sunday night while on the red carpet for the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscars viewing party, the former Dancing with the Stars pro opened up about her thoughts on dating again just over a year after she and the Boy Meets World alum broke up. It was a pretty rocky split, especially since Cheryl seemed to put Matthew on blast for possibly cheating! After the divorce was finalized, the actor quickly confirmed his romance with TLC’s Chilli. Meanwhile, the Diving Deep host hasn’t been so quick to find love again, though she isn’t giving up!

Despite the bitter end to her last relationship, Cheryl hasn’t closed off her heart completely, but she’s not exactly eager to find someone new either, she told E! News:

These days, she’s more focused on redefining what she’s looking for in her next partner, she explained:

“As I’ve changed, the characteristics of somebody I’d be interested in has changed. It’s about somebody who wants to grow and evolve because without it, life can be very stagnant and I’m not about to live that again.”

“I mean, I deserve it. I’ve always put everyone in front of me, so this is the first time I’m actually being selfish, but in a good way.”

It’s so important to reconnect with yourself after a big breakup! Not to mention this isn’t the only change in her life. Cheryl’s also adjusting to her DWTS exit (she said goodbye last fall after 26 seasons). Luckily, it sounds like everything has happened just the way it was meant to, she exclaimed:

“I feel at peace, at ease and I’m just excited. I feel like I’ve been a reborn human being here on this planet because it’s so many changes, right? My career, my personal life. But I still have my dog.”

If you haven’t been keeping up with the 38-year-old dancer and 43-year-old Boy Meets World alum’s drama, the couple called off their marriage last February before finalizing their divorce in September. The Mrs. Doubtfire star quickly moved on with the pop icon, born Rozonda Thomas. They formed a friendship first and then linked up romantically shortly before Thanksgiving. So, that’s about four months of a solid relationship… and yet, they are ALREADY “trying” to have a baby! Kinda fast, don’t ya think??

Welp, not according to Cheryl! While speaking with Chris, she revealed she’s not surprised AT ALL that Matthew is already eager to start a family, saying:

“He comes from a huge family and there were definitely conversations but I always had said, ‘As long as I had to shove my body in a dance costume, me thinking about being pregnant probably isn’t something I can talk about at the moment.’ But yes, there were discussions about freezing my eggs.”

As for his efforts to welcome a mini-me ASAP, she gracefully added:

“I really truly hope he can actually have a kid with Chilli. I think that’s amazing. I think he’s wanted that.”

Whoa! Kinda shocking that she’s not salty! We mean, it hasn’t even been a year since their divorce was finalized. It would be normal if she found the baby blabber a little hurtful, but maybe it’s not that big of a deal to her since she wasn’t ready for kids anyway.

Aw! Super cute! But we can’t help but wonder if this is just the honeymoon phase talking? As we’ve been following, the pair were first spotted together in August during a trip to Hawaii. Matthew and his ex-wife Cheryl Burke called off their marriage last February before finalizing their divorce in September. Matthew hardly had time to be sad about the split since by January, the ’90s heartthrob confirmed his romance with the ’90s pop icon, born Rozonda Thomas, and they’ve been showing off plenty of PDA ever since!

Breaking his silence on his breakup from the Dancing With the Stars pro, Matthew noted:

“It tested me and I learned so much about myself, and I’m so thankful and blessed for the opportunity to grow and that’s what came out of it.”

Such a positive outlook! Fans may be obsessed with the ’90s power couple, but the Mrs. Doubtfire alum didn’t dwell on the past for long before quickly deciding to share how he first met the No Scrubs vocalist, sharing:

“So we were at this thing. We were working. We just said hello in passing and probably nothing would’ve come of that, but there was this big snowstorm. I had to be back for work, so I was getting them [the airline] to change my flights all around. The only flight I could get was a connecting flight through Atlanta. She lives in Atlanta. So, she was flying on that flight. So, really it was the flight, talking and then afterwards saying, ‘Hey, let’s keep in contact.’ That’s really what made it, and it almost did not happen. I mean, literally, an hour before the flight took off they were like, ‘OK, we got you on this flight. You gotta go.’ So it was just like that kind of thing.”

It was meant to be! But, uh… when was that flight? After the breakup with Cheryl, right? Um… Maybe not? See, they started off as friends for several months, as he noted:

“It was just real friendship, you know, for like five or six months, just talking on the phone long distance, like, getting to know each other, see each other here and there. But, really, just keeping it as friends and being, you know, let’s keep our priorities straight here. We wanna know what we’re all about. We don’t wanna take this too fast.”

OK, doing a little math… They were first spotted in August, subtract six months, you have… February. But when they were spotted, it was in Hawaii. Not exactly a first date, right? Hmm… So have they been talking “as friends” since before his split?

While we may not know exactly when Matthew and Chilli first got together romantically, it’s clear they’ve been in overdrive ever since! Matthew’s even gotten to spend time with the pop star’s 25-year-old son Tron, whom she shares with her ex Dallas Austin. On everything the couple has in common, he gushed:

“It’s weird, you know, we have similar upbringings. We have similar families. There are similarities that you wouldn’t necessarily think between us and it really works.”
