And the reasoning behind her decision, of feeling “tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre,” broke our hearts even more. No 18-year-old should ever feel like that! Nobody PERIODT should ever feel like that! Ugh.

But now, there are even more new concerns with this drug cocktail on top of the mental health worries we have for Alabama’s body image as a young woman in this cruel age of social media.

While the rest of Hollywood seems to all be taking drugs like Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy, experts are now counseling that somebody as young as Alabama may be playing with fire regarding the use of the medicine semaglutide, which helps with long-term weight management.

On Thursday, the US Sun spoke to nutritionist Rania Batayneh, and she sounded VERY skeptical about the benefits of weight loss drugs for teenagers. She began by noting that Alabama’s video reveal of her weight loss drug use appeared to be “extreme,” and then went on to add:

“This looked messy and extreme. Alabama is 18 and not clinically overweight, so would not typically have access to a weight loss drug prescription.”

The health expert then went on to note that the appetite suppressant effects of weight loss drugs could leave Alabama eating too few calories, “which is not a normal, healthy, or enjoyable life for any teenager.” Batayneh continued:

“Weight loss medications could set teenagers up for failure long-term. This is in terms of weight maintenance, long-term health, and mental health issues. Drugs like Ozempic must not become the quick fix in this age group. Alabama and other teenagers who consider using these medications must learn how to take care of themselves properly.”

One of the biggest issues, according to the One One One Diet author, is the risk of metabolic disruption. The worry that these drugs could mess up a teenager’s metabolism for life — in addition to the psychological toll of treating food in such a manner — could be very bad:

“This is about metabolic disruption in that young age group. This will impact natural metabolic processes and appetite regulation simply because teenagers burn more naturally. When you add an appetite suppressant and restrict caloric intake, the metabolism will take a hit because of the young age. There are also psychological impacts when a teenager is not eating healthily. They could develop a bad relationship with food and have adverse effects when they decide to eat.”

Wow.

Like we said up top, it sure seems like tons of celebs have turned to these drugs — and some of them with very concerning side effects of their own. But for teens? It’s going too far. Batayneh said:

“We cannot imagine what will happen to teenagers who resort to these drugs. What will we say when they become so thin from using them?”

And she wisely concluded:

“The solution is not a weight loss injection, and this must not be the next logical step. If it is not for obesity or Type 2 diabetes, these may be visual beauty and cosmetic-inspired decisions versus health-informed decisions. Teenagers need not to be focusing on the numbers on the scales or how they look. This mindset is not conducive to a healthy teenage lifestyle.”

No kidding. Say it louder for the people in the back… PLEASE!!!

In a recent makeup video on TikTok, the 18-year-old daughter of Travis Barker revealed she’s taking weight loss medication! WHAT?! THIS GIRL????

Yes, despite posting tons of photos her fellow teens are drooling over — getting her over 2 million followers on Instagram — she’s not comfortable with how she looks. Why? Because she received a bunch of messages online calling her “fat” and “ugly.” Alabama said:

“I have, like, this thing where I photograph so ugly, and people are like, ‘Oh, my God — you’re so fat, and you’re so ugly.’”

In her eyes, she sadly agrees with what the haters are saying. Now, she admits she’s using weight loss drugs to try to shed some pounds, despite being just 18 and totally healthy. The teen continued:

“And it’s, like, I see what you guys are seeing, but just, like, meet me in person. I feel like I don’t look like that. But I’m on weight-loss medication because I’m tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre.”

This is so sad. She does not need weight loss drugs at all. And she definitely does not photograph like an “ogre”! We hate so much that Alabama thinks of herself this way because she’s letting the bullying comments of internet weirdos get to her. Watch the video (below):

Alabama doesn’t name which drug she’s on. However, her mom, Shanna Moakler, shared last month how she used the Type 2 diabetes medication Mounjaro to help her lose weight after she got to a “very dark place” and ate “the pain away” when both her parents died in 2023. Could it be that same one? Hmm.

Our hearts break for Alabama. We hope she realizes she is amazing just the way she is and doesn’t need to change her appearance — especially just because of some hate comments online. And certainly not at 18 when she isn’t even done growing into her look yet! Tons of people naturally shed that last bit of what’s called “baby fat” as they become adults in their early 20s! Why would some doctor not caution her to wait until that happens before prescribing medication with potentially dangerous side effects?

As we’ve been covering, the 49-year-old actress-slash-model has been speaking out to People in a series of interviews released on Tuesday. Shanna has already gotten real about eating her feelings while trying to cope with the deaths of her parents. And she’s also gotten back to s**t talking the KarJenner fam — something she does a lot. But now, she’s claiming she doesn’t even know Kourtney personally. At all!

Speaking about her adult children Alabama and Landon Barker, who she shares with ex Travis, and Atiana De La Hoya, who she shares with ex Oscar De La Hoya, Shanna revealed they are huge fans of the adorable baby Rocky Thirteen Barker born months ago to the Poosh founder. Moakler said:

“They love the baby. They said that he’s beautiful, and yeah, they’re all happy. They’re good. So, that’s all I care about.”

Great! But then here’s the kicker: Moakler added that she personally has “never even met” Kourtney. Even though Alabama and Landon have lived with Kourt and Travis, and are REALLY close to the Lemme founder and her famous fam, Shanna hasn’t gotten around to meeting Kourtney in person!! Seriously! And it doesn’t sound like she wants to meet up, either. Moakler said:

“I think people think I was angry [at the Kardashians]. But I’m not angry. It wasn’t anger. I think I get maybe frustrated, but I’m also from the East Coast and I swear a lot and I can be very direct sometimes. And I think some people take that as anger where I’m just very real where I’m like, ‘f**k the family.’ I don’t have to f**king like the family. And it’s like, there’s people that don’t like it.”

OK then…

The issue of Alabama and Landon choosing to live with Travis (and Kourtney) has stuck in Shanna’s craw, though. She explained how it irks her that fans assume she “became a deadbeat mom” and “wasn’t in my children’s lives” after Alabama and Landon showed up so frequently around Kourt. Plus, it didn’t help that Alabama pretty much directly said as much, too! Nevertheless, Shanna explained:

“People are like, ‘Why do your kids live with Travis?’ So I would gladly set the record straight. I have never not been involved in my children’s lives. I’ve always had shared custody.”

And she went on:

“My children are now 18, 20, and 25 at this point. So, my children are grown. I’m basically an empty nester at this point. They are living their lives.”

Well, that’s a good point. In the end, after asserting that she seems like a “deadbeat mom” because Alabama and Landon chose to do COVID social distancing at Travis’ place and that’s where all the drama stems from, she slammed fans for demeaning her as a mother. She called it “devastating” and “untrue,” before adding:

“I think the most disgusting thing you can do to a woman is to demean her as a mother. No one can tell me how to speak about it because I’m the one that’s getting bullied … about not being a [good] mother. I’m there for my children every day.”

Hmmm…

She just can’t seem to STOP talking about them! Ha!

The 49-year-old added:

“As I stand here today, as a mature woman who’s gone through all that … I do not give a f**k what anyone thinks of me anymore. I’m proud of who I am.”

She continued:

“I’m more than just the ex-wife of famous men. I was Miss USA at 19. I’m smart. Every part I’ve ever got in any movie, or every show I hosted or auditioned for, I worked my f**king ass off to get.”

In addition to her two kids with Travis, she also shares 25-year-old Atiana with ex-fiancé Oscar de la Hoya. But don’t think she and her exes team up for co-parenting… At least not her and the Blink-182 drummer:

“I don’t have a relationship with Travis, but I think that’s OK. I don’t feel like it’ll be like that forever, but I feel like right now — I think that’s where we are at in our evolution, and maybe in the future, it’ll change.”

Well, after everything she’s said about him and his wife’s family, it might be hard to get back on friendly terms! But as for now, she doesn’t “care about her exes” … At least while she navigates her parents’ deaths.

Oof.

Yeah, Shanna is going through some stuff. But she has to understand, the reason everyone expects her to s**t-talk the Kardashians instead of talking about her own accomplishments is, well… it’s what she’s been doing. The Miss USA pageant winner is the latest celeb to admit to dabbling in the world of weight loss meds. For her, though, it all began with tragedy. During an interview with People published on Tuesday, the 49-year-old opened up about losing BOTH her parents last year. Her mom died in January, and her dad passed away just seven months later:

“I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s**t. I was so devastated, and I missed my f**king mom and dad.”

So to fill the void, she turned to food:

“I was like, ‘I’m going to f**king eat the pain away.’”

She said the pain was compounded by paparazzi hounding her about her ex-husband Travis Barker’s new wife Kourtney Kardashian, who underwent emergency fetal surgery at around the same time:

We’re sure that made things much worse, especially given her thoughts on Kourt and Trav… However, she told the outlet that she’s been feeling renewed ever since getting on the weight loss drug earlier this year:

“I don’t think anyone has a clue about who I am. I’m more than just the ex-wife of famous men. I was Miss USA at 19. I’m smart. Every part I’ve ever got in any movie, or every show I hosted or auditioned for, I worked my f**king ass off to get.”

Wow. We’re glad she’s feeling more herself again after a devastating year. The Mounjaro admission is really jarring and unsettling, especially in light of her mourning struggles — and we’re sending good thoughts to Shanna after the tragedies of losing both of her parents in such short order.

The former Playboy model popped up on Jeff Lewis Live over on SiriusXM on Friday morning, and host Jeff Lewis asked her straight-up about her current relationship with the Blink-182 drummer. Of course, the duo shares two kids: 20-year-old son Landon and 18-year-old daughter Alabama, as well as Travis having co-parented Shanna’s other daughter Atiana De La Hoya. But even though the kids have all now turned 18 and flown the proverbial coop, the ex-Playmate still has thoughts about how her and Travis’ parenting styles clashed BIG time!

Moakler admitted she and Travis used to have a “competition” over who was the better parent to their children when they were younger. But for Shanna, being “scrutinized” to such a great degree by the public forced her to throw in the towel, and she “gave up.” Not on parenting altogether, but on trying to do more than Kourtney Kardashian‘s hubby! Shanna explained:

“It is a topic that I don’t think a lot of people have really scratched the surface on and really have a clear understanding and it happens to both men and women — both mothers and fathers. I think it really comes from like when you’re dealing with like a narcissist or you’re dealing with a controlling personality.”

Uh, whoa! Record scratch!! Did she just lead into a discussion about inter-parent competition and then transition to explicitly calling the 48-year-old drummer “controlling” and “a narcissist”?! Yes, yes, she did!

Acknowledging that Barker is a “very powerful famous person,” Shanna admitted it was hard for her to “compete on that level” with him when it came to winning the kids’ affections! Then, the 49-year-old model added:

“But I gave up. I was never really trying to compete. I gave that up a long time ago. I was like, ‘you win. Like you’re the winner.'”

Damn!

Travis and Shanna haven’t been a thing for a long time after finalizing their divorce back in 2008. And with their kids now both over 18, they don’t have a ton of reasons to continue to interact, short of one of their children needing something. To that end, even though she and Travis are cordial, Shanna explained the pair doesn’t have a ton to say to each other. And she only wants to focus on Landon and Alabama, anyways! She revealed that the exes “don’t really have a friendship,” but will communicate about family issues. And she added:

“I only care about my children, my relationship with my children. … The one thing we’ve always agreed on is our kids and the best interest of our children.”

So, that part is good! Still, the “narcissist” comment is bound to catch some attention. Heck, it certainly caught ours! Shanna seems to do that a lot, tho…

As we’ve been following, this week both Miss USA AND Miss Teen USA resigned from their titles in a shock twist that has left the pageant community scrambling for answers. It doesn’t help that Miss USA Noelia Voigt‘s statement included a hidden message that stated, “I am silenced,” and sources have since come out to claim CEO Laylah Rose has been bullying and harassing them behind the scenes for months. Very concerning!

Now Travis Barker‘s ex, who won the Miss New York USA pageant in 1995 and was the first runner-up at Miss USA in 1995, is speaking out! On Wednesday, the model took to her Instagram with a lengthy statement about the controversy, sharing:

“First, I will start by saying I am a product of this organization. I started competing in Miss Teen USA at 15 and inherited the title of Miss USA at 19; my love of this organization is so powerful that I have been a State Director for the last 15 years.”

Yep, Shanna is still working for Miss USA! She’s currently the State Director for Nevada and Utah — where Noelia was crowned before snagging the Miss USA title — and was previously a co-executive director of the Miss California USA pageant. Suggesting she is also under a strict NDA, she continued:

“The contract titleholders signed today, I also signed. As state directors, we sign lengthy franchise/licensee contracts with our parent companies. I can’t speak for all State Directors, but I feel confident to speak for the majority; we are not sitting silently; we are working our best behind the scenes to ensure the future of an organization we love dearly.”

Addressing the fact Noelia said she left her role due to mental health reasons, Shanna went on:

“We all pride ourselves on the mental and emotional well-being of all contestants. We all work year-round to try our best to give every contestant and titleholder a positive year where she has a voice to advocate her goals and platforms — a place to get out into her community and make a difference. Not every year is perfect, and personalities can clash; being a titleholder is a job and not one that fits everyone, either. But the goal is to create memories and opportunities to last a lifetime.”

Noelia and Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava‘s reigns came amid a lot of change for the org. Current president Laylah Rose took over in August 2023 after Crystle Stewart stepped down. Crystle’s husband Max Sebrechts previously had to walk away from his VP role amid allegations of sexual harassment. JKN Global Group also bought the Miss Universe Organization in 2022 (though they filed for bankruptcy in October 2023). So, there’s been a LOT going on behind the scenes these last few years.

Regardless of the allegations against Rose, a transition was bound to cause some controversy, Moakler acknowledged:

“Some State Directors, Debbie Miller and Cindy Provost of D&D, whom I admire and look up to as mentors, still run the biggest states today. They have seen numerous owners transition over the decades. As with all new owners, we are navigating the transition as best we can within our means and continue to support the young women and their decisions to align with their personal goals. We are actively working and advocating for what we have always believed in, an organization that empowers women of all ages.”

The mother of three concluded:

“Again, I can only speak for myself as a State Director, but I am here; I hear you, and my love for the org and all its titleholders nationally and internationally is boundless. I genuinely believe that together, we can return to the business of being confidently beautiful and uplifting, a 72-year-old tradition we have all known and loved. You are being seen and heard.”

A noteworthy way to respond to Noelia’s “I am silenced” claim!

And in the caption, Shanna shared a direct message to both of the (now former) titleholders, writing:

“Sorry for this lengthy statement, many years and many people are in my thoughts, I love this organization, @noeliavoigt as your former state Director, I love you and support you always @umasofias you are a brave young woman.”

There doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between UmaSofia and Shanna since the 17-year-old beauty queen replied:

“Love you Shanna”

Well, there you have it!

Her lips were specifically what came under fire last month after TikTok users pointed out it looked like her filler had migrated. She subsequently deleted that video.

Apparently, while out at a fast food restaurant in Cali, the teen lost not one but TWO of her expensive timepieces in the bathroom. A mistake we’ve all made — everyone has taken off a ring or bracelet while washing their hands or something — but most people’s property isn’t worth as much as a base model Lamborghini!

In her posts, the Blink-182 rocker’s daughter said:

“Whoever took my patek [sic] and Cartier watch out of the fat burger bathroom a day ago in Burbank I have a reward for you. Please give it back … My heart is broken. Bring it back to me!!!”

She also added a few photos of the missing watches. Ch-ch-check it out (below):

These watches retail for close to $100,000 EACH!! We can’t imagine why she would’ve presumably taken off something worth that much in a Fat Burger bathroom in Burbank, but this would seem to be a lesson learned… she probably won’t be doing THAT again!

The Cartier watch in particular could also possibly be the one her step-grandma Kris Jenner got her for her 18 birthday recently. Although Alabama didn’t specify this was the same watch, if it is, that only adds salt to the wound!
