That super exciting and unexpected news came out very casually on Thursday’s episode of her podcast Coffee Convos, during which she was wearing a big sparkler on THAT finger! Her co-host, Lindsie Chrisley, pointed out the diamond ring and openly wondered what happened:

“Are you married?”

Wait, WHAT?

The Teen Mom 2 alum quickly clarified for Lindsie and listeners:

“No, I’m not married. This is the ring that they give you before you get married.”

Ummm WOW!!! OK!!!! So that’d be an engagement then! LOLz!

So, why hasn’t she said anything about it yet?! Well, Kailyn’s been downplaying the exciting update because she claims that there was no formal proposal. She recalled her beau was always asking, “when are we going to get married?” But for a while, she was never “taking him seriously.” The mom of seven said:

“I was just like, ‘We’ll play this by ear. I’ll let you know, if you have a ring one day, we’ll reevaluate.’”

She continued:

“And then one day he just showed up with a ring.”

Awww!!!

Because they have both been married in the past — Kailyn to Javi Marroquin from 2012 to 2017 and Elijah to Kayla Brooke from 2018 to 2020 — the groom-to-be didn’t even get down on one knee! The reality star dished:

“We’ve both been married already, so we both don’t care about the whole, ‘get on one knee and make it all romantic and stuff.’ […] Because that’s just not how we are … He came into the bathroom one day while I was getting ready and he gave me the ring … I was like, ‘Oh my God, thank you!’”

The 16 and Pregnant alum added that she “doesn’t like being the center of attention” and “would have been happier if he had left the ring on the table and walked out.” LOLz! That’s not romantic at all!

The couple have been dating since 2022. It’s unclear exactly when this chill proposal went down, but the announcement comes months after they welcomed twins Valley and Verse late last year. They also share a 1-year-old son, Rio. Plus, Kailyn is the mother to Isaac, 14, Lincoln, 10, Lux, 6, Creed, 3. Such a happy time for them all, we bet! Wishing them nothing but the best!

Back in April of 2022, when he proposed (for the second time) to the Waiting For Tonight signer with a $5.6 million diamond engagement ring, he had it engraved with a message. The tiny little saying on the inside of the ring’s band had supreme meaning for the couple at the time. And it was an incredibly sweet show of romance! But now… it really falls flat considering the pair is in the middle of a divorce and all the way done with their relationship.

As it turns out, the engraving that Ben had seared into the band of Jennifer’s engagement ring aged so poorly that it’s impossible not to notice its missed meaning now. It read:

“not. going. anywhere.”

Ouch…

The three words had a special meaning for the pair back then, as Lopez herself explained to Apple Music‘s Zane Lowe way back in November of 2022. She noted at the time:

“That was how [Ben] would sign his emails when we started talking again. Like, ‘don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.'”

Yeah, well, he’s going somewhere now! That engraving really didn’t end up proving true, sadly. Oh, and we now know that he’s not getting it back, either! Jennifer is going to keep the diamond ring for herself here — just like she kept the last one!

As Perezcious readers will recall, the filmmaker popped the question to his ex-wife with a rare 8.5-carat green cushion-cut diamond ring (pictured above) worth roughly $5.6 million. What made the gorgeous sparkler super special? The Maid In Manhattan star previously shared that green is her “lucky color.” Unfortunately, her green diamond turned out to be unlucky. This week, Jennifer filed to end their two-year marriage. Oof.

Given how things turned out between her and Ben, one would think she wouldn’t want any possible painful reminders of him moving forward like the ring. However, returning jewelry is not the J.Lo way! Nope! She will most likely keep it just as she has done with her other ones, including the one from her first engagement to Ben.

You know, that 6.1-carat pink diamond from Harry Winston. Yeah, she still has it all these years later — something that seemed cute when we thought they were getting back together forever. But now it’s just another in her collection, along with the ones from Marc Anthony, Cris Judd, Ojani Noa, and Alex Rodriguez. Check out her OG ring from Ben (below):

Now, she’ll have a new Ben ring to add to her collection. Lorel Diamonds’ engagement ring specialist, Laura Taylor, told Dailymail.com on Wednesday:

“Jennifer Lopez has amassed a remarkable collection of engagement rings over the years, each representing a different chapter in her life. In the United States, engagement rings are typically considered gifts, meaning J.Lo is legally entitled to keep the ring after the divorce unless agreed otherwise in a prenup.”

Shockingly, Ben and Jennifer do NOT have a prenup nor have they hashed anything out when it comes to money. But, as Laura referenced, engagement rings are considered to be separate property and the courts will typically rule in favor of the recipient of the ring in the divorce. The argument is that it’s seen as a present before marriage and thus it belongs to the recipient, even if the relationship comes to an end. Some women return them on principle. Some keep them on principle! So based on past behavior, in all likelihood the green engagement ring is staying with Jennifer!

According to Laura, if the Let’s Get Loud singer keeps it, her collection altogether will be “worth an estimated $17 million.” Damn! Jennifer’s “most expensive” and treasured ring is the $6.5m blue diamond from Marc, though. Laura shared:

“The most expensive ring she has kept is the blue diamond ring from Anthony, which she described in a 2021 interview as her most treasured piece of jewelry, even more so than the pink diamond Ben gave her during their first engagement. While her latest engagement ring is certainly beautiful, I suspect that the engagement ring from Anthony will still hold the top spot for her.”

Not even Ben’s two rings are #1, it’s Marc’s! Wow! Why? It’s the most “sentimental” ring in her collection. Laura explained:

“She was married to Marc for ten years, and they share two children from that marriage, so I think it is a lot more sentimental for her, not to mention it being the most expensive in her collection thanks to the size, quality, and it being one of the rarest colored diamonds in the world, just ahead of green diamonds.”

Even if her latest ring from Ben doesn’t steal the top spot, there’s no denying it’s stunning! It’ll make a great addition to her collection…

It was unclear if they were still engaged, but…

Right on cue Monday morning, pics came out that captured the Madame Web actress very unsubtly showing off her engagement ring to paparazzi. You know, as if to really drive the point home everything is fine between the two of them, and the wedding is still on!

And now, there’s MORE! A source spoke to People on Monday afternoon with a further revelation that the duo is “happy and together.” But that’s not all! This insider may be defending the couple, but they did have to finally acknowledge the couple has had problems in the past — which is something that we have reported on extensively. However, the source claims the distance issues the actress and the rockstar sometimes experience actually helps make their relationship thrive! The source said:

“Their relationship works because they are both very independent and actually have lives outside of their relationship, too. It’s like every time they are not spotted together for a while, there are breakup rumors.”

They’re really selling us on everything is fine, and yet… They also admit the breakup rumors may have been on the money, too! There have indeed been “breaks” in the engaged couple’s past:

“Sure, they’ve had issues and taken breaks in the past, but things are great now. They both love their careers. They are balancing things the best they can.”

Huh. So if being far apart energizes their relationship, we guess time off from it does, too? (TBH, this is starting to sound like those open relationship claims weren’t far off… We just hope Dakota is just as into it as Chris!)

And now, Dakota is making it REALLY clear that they are still together — even if they are physically far apart!!

While Chris is touring Europe with his band this summer, Dakota is hanging out in Malibu. And that’s where she was on Sunday with pals Jeremy Allen White and Blake Lee when paparazzi photogs spotted her walking around. Or rather, she spotted paparazzi photogs and wanted to very clearly show that she was wearing the engagement ring previously given to her by Chris in their past proposal!!

As we reported just a couple hours ago, the actress and the rockstar supposedly ended their relationship and split off from their would-be wedding planning after their lives diverged irreparably. But, uh, maybe that issue wasn’t so irreparable, as it turns out?! Heck, to hear a rep for the 34-year-old actress tell it now, it sounds like they didn’t have any problems at all!

Per People, the Fifty Shades Of Grey star’s rep denied reports she’d split from her 47-year-old fiancé. And instead of revealing a rift, that rep needed only four simple words to quell breakup rumblings:

“They are happily together.”

Well then!

That’s quite an about-face from earlier this morning, when a DailyMail.com insider made these very specific claims about what supposedly led to the couple’s demise:

“Chris and Dakota have tried desperately hard over the past few months to make their relationship work. They’ll always have love for each other but they’ve both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term. They’re both busy people, Chris has been in Europe with Coldplay and they both have personal priorities, passions and work commitments which don’t naturally intertwine with each other. They wanted it to work but it just hasn’t, and they’ve now accepted it is best to move on.”

So, it only took a couple hours for Dakota’s rep to completely deny that insider report and nip all the split talk in the bud! Though innerestingly the rep didn’t assure us the engagement was still on either…

Now, to be fair, early Friday’s rumors of a breakup didn’t exactly come up out of the blue. As we reported back in June, Dakota and Chris had recently hit a so-called “secret” rough patch in their relationship. At the time, it was understood that they’d eventually worked through it. But there were issues there. Possibly of the all-too-familiar rockstar variety. One source claimed Chris wanted an open relationship, and Dakota was unwillingly going along. (Sounded like a California way of describing cheating to us!) So, this morning’s breakup claims weren’t the most surprising thing in the world.

First reported by DailyMail.com on Friday, that outlet’s sources claim the couple has decided to break up rather than carry on a relationship from here. To lay out the landscape of their lost love, an insider first vaguely explained:

“[Martin and Johnson] have now accepted the relationship is over — and it’s best to move on.”

So sad!

The source continued:

“Chris and Dakota have tried desperately hard over the past few months to make their relationship work. They’ll always have love for each other but they’ve both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term. This follows the Fifty Shades of Grey star being spotted walking her dog last weekend in Malibu without her emerald engagement ring on her left ring finger. Also, Chris has indeed been on the European leg of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres world tour for a while now, so the source’s comment about distance makes sense. Plus, this follows our report from back in June that the couple had just gone through a so-called “secret rough patch” before getting back together. So, there were issues here.

John even brought his mother-in-law to the show! That’s how close he’s become with her family! Aww! He continued:

“Ms. Kim is here with me tonight. I’m so happy she came. One of them will come with you anywhere. And they call me John Mulaney — full name. Full name all the time. ‘Olivia’s here with John Mulaney.’ They’re the greatest.”
