Alexa Nikolas, who called Blake out for including music by her “known abuser” in It Ends With Us, has put the actress on blast again!!! This time for controversial comments she made about Woody Allen.

If you don’t know, Blake starred in one of Woody’s films, Café Society, in 2016. It’s the movie she was doing press for when she rudely complimented a journalist on her “little bump” even though she clearly wasn’t pregnant. And at the time, while Woody hadn’t been fully blacklisted from the industry yet, he had been accused of child sexual abuse against his adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow.

The allegations first surfaced during his split from ex Mia Farrow in 1992, and then resurfaced again in 2014 when Dylan penned an open letter. That’s two years before Café Society came out, so the cast had plenty of time to consider the allegations before signing onto the project, FYI.

Naturally, it was a hot topic of discussion during the press tour, including at the Cannes Film Festival. There, master of ceremonies Laurent Lafitte leaned into the controversy, joking:

“It’s very nice that you’ve been shooting so many movies in Europe, even if you are not being convicted for rape in the U.S.”

At a luncheon the next day, the Gossip Girl alum slammed the host for the jab, telling Variety:

“I think any jokes about rape, homophobia or Hitler is not a joke. I think that was a hard thing [to] swallow in 30 seconds. Film festivals are such a beautiful, respectful festivals of film and artists and to have that, it felt like it wouldn’t have happened if it was in the 1940s. I can’t imagine Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby going out and doing that. It was more disappointing for the artists in the room that someone was going up there making jokes about something that wasn’t funny.”

She added:

“But it wasn’t just Woody. He made three homophobic comments in a row. A Hitler joke. And a rape joke. It was all within 30 seconds … What on Earth was happening? It was really confusing.”

The drama continued when Dylan’s brother Ronan Farrow published an article in the Hollywood Reporter titled, “My Father, Woody Allen, and the Danger of Unasked Questions,” in which he opened up about all the support his father had been getting and how much it hurt his sister to see so many stars continue to work with the director. When asked about it by Vulture, Blake dished:

“I came home and went to bed at whatever time we finished. I haven’t been in it, so I don’t want to speak on something I haven’t read. I think that’s dangerous. It’s definitely something that being at the festival, the media these days, you come to a film festival about film and people talk about all different types of things. You know? That can be definitely tricky to navigate, I’m sure. I don’t want to speak about something I haven’t read.”

But then she went and told the LA Times:

“It’s amazing what Woody has written for women.”

She added that his personal life and the icky allegations didn’t factor into her work, noting:

“It’s very dangerous to factor in things you don’t know anything about. I… know my experience. And my experience with Woody is he’s empowering to women.”

She did not say that. OMG. A month later, she doubled down in a chat with Hamptons magazine, once again calling the filmmaker “very empowering.” Whoa.

As mentioned, Blake’s already been called out by the former child star this week for some questionable decisions made in her new domestic violence film.  Now, Alexa’s calling her out yet again! The Zoey 101 lead reposted Blake’s shocking comment to the LA Times on her Instagram Story on Thursday, reacting:

“ oh”

She also included the “” emoji for emphasis, placing the emoji next to a photo of Blake.

Blake was obviously in a tough spot promoting a movie with such a controversial director (though she didn’t have to work with him if she didn’t want to). But the fact that she so openly praised him despite the allegations is pretty shocking. Thanks to her It Ends With Us scandal, we now know that she’s a pro at ignoring people and topics when she wants. And yet she went this route! Jeez! This is SO not the best look for the face of a movie about abuse!

Selena has since come out with her version of events, explaining she was actually spilling some very different hot goss. She claimed in a comment on E! News‘ Instagram page:

“Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone business.”

Some fans have even wondered if she was talking about the rumored affair between her Only Murders in the Building co-stars — Martin Short and the very recently single Meryl Streep!

But apparently some folks aren’t buying that explanation — including an expert lip reader! The pro DailyMail.com hired to assess Selena’s lips is convinced fans got it right the first time! So if that’s true, why would Kylie block Selena?

Well, per the outlet’s source, it wasn’t specifically about Selly at all. It’s just how the Kardashians star is about her famous beau!

“Kylie doesn’t feel threatened by her, but she is heavily protective over her relationship with Timothée.”

Protective of their privacy? Um, not exactly. The insider says it’s a lot more paranoid than that!

“She loves him and isn’t going to let him go. She knows that women would love to break up what they have.”

OMG, really?! That’s ridiculous, if true. They’re making it sound like Kylie is way too controlling and sus of other women.

Selena obviously wasn’t trying to break them up, nor was she jealous. After all, she has her man situation handled at the moment. No, this source says the Come and Get It singer was just trying to give kudos to her one-time co-star on all his success:

“Selena went up to him to simply congratulate him on his nominations and tell him how much she loved his latest film. She is genuinely proud of how far he’s come.”

We wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t remember they were romantic leads in a movie once. It was A Rainy Day In New York — the last Woody Allen movie before his full cancelation, the one that basically disappeared and got unceremoniously dropped on Amazon Prime Video. It’s a film that essentially doesn’t exist.

But Kylie got the wrong idea and caused so much more drama than there would have been if she’d just been civil! At least, that’s what DM‘s sources say. What do YOU think really happened?!

The 87-year-old was, of course, the subject of jaw-dropping sexual abuse allegations by adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow several years ago. And while the filmmaker has denied those allegations, and continued to make movies abroad, his reputation in the US has been scarred, to say the very least.

That was on his mind when he spoke with the industry mag for a wide-ranging chat at the Venice Film Festival over the long weekend. Published on Sunday night, the interview touched on a lot of Allen’s filmmaking thoughts and theories, and on his work with this latest film Coup De Chance, which is premiering at the festival.

But it also covered Farrow’s shocking allegations. As Variety claims, Allen “suddenly turned gloomy” when their reporter asked him to comment on Farrow.

Thinking about the fallout from those 2021 claims, the longtime filmmaker said:

“I feel if you’re going to be canceled, this is the culture to be canceled by. I just find that all so silly. I don’t think about it. I don’t know what it means to be canceled. I know that over the years everything has been the same for me.”

Then, he added:

“The fact that it lingers on always makes me think that maybe people like the idea that it lingers on. You know, maybe there’s something appealing to people. But why?”

Hmmm…

Of course, Woody hasn’t been getting major media and marketing distribution for his films stateside for a while now. So, in that way, “cancel culture” has found him. But he’s also hard at work in France and elsewhere with — possibly — no signs of slowing down.

Speaking on his career at this point in his life now that his 50th (!) film has premiered at Venice, Woody said:

“I make my movies. What has changed is the presentation of the films. You know, I work and it’s the same routine for me. I write the script, raise the money, make the film, shoot it, edit it, it comes out. The difference is not is not from cancel culture. The difference is the way they present the films. It’s that that’s the big change.”

And he also addressed whether retirement could be imminent. It sounds like he still enjoys making movies but very much hates raising money for them, as he explained to the industry pub:

“I have so many ideas for films that I would be tempted to do it, if it was easy to finance But beyond that, I don’t know if I have the same verve to go out and spend a lot of time raising money.”

But not everybody is excited to see him be embraced again by fans. And considering the legal situation he and Heard were previously involved in, we can’t say we’re surprised…

While the 59-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star was busy appearing on the red carpet at Cannes, Amber’s closest friend was calling out the festival’s perceived hypocrisy over on Instagram. Over the weekend, journalist Eve Barlow posted a series of images to her IG account slamming Cannes leaders for allowing Depp such a soft landing spot to promote his new movie, which is directed by French actor-slash-filmmaker Maïwenn.

Barlow, who is currently living with Heard and the actress’ daughter Oonagh in Madrid, posted a strong statement about the festival seemingly “supporting” troublesome men. In it, she wrote:

“Cannes seem proud of their history supporting rapists and abusers. Plus ça change. #CannesYouNot.”

Along with Depp, who Barlow slammed as being part of a film that is “representing abusers at Cannes,” the journalist also pointed to several other notable Hollywood men who have been accused of misconduct.

The images included shots of controversial directors Woody Allen and Roman Polanski — each of whom have been accused of sexual misconduct with minors — as well as convicted rapist producer Harvey Weinstein, accused serial sexual harasser actor Gérard Depardieu, and accused rapist director Luc Besson (who also happens to be Maïwenn’s ex-husband — they got married when she was just 16).

As you can see (below), Barlow also shared various slides with incriminating quotes from Depp that were revealed at his infamous defamation trial against Heard:

No word on how the other famous men in those images have reacted to the post. As for Depp, insiders are already speaking out about it. A source close to the longtime star told Page Six on Tuesday afternoon upon seeing Barlow’s IG post:

“The other people in this post are alleged or convicted child predators and rapists; that is not Johnny. He won his trial and he was not accused of anything like this.”

Then, later on Tuesday, Barlow again returned to IG with a similar angle of defense for Heard.

This time, the journo took aim at French cosmetics giant L’Oréal and demanded they continue to stand with Amber as a brand ambassador through the aftermath of her controversial trial with Depp:

Of course, Johnny is well on his way along the proverbial comeback trail at this point.

As we previously reported late last week, the Kentucky-born star just inked a record eight-figure deal with Dior to return as the face of Sauvage. Plus, he’s got a directorial debut with Al Pacino in development right now, too. But clearly, not everybody is happy about that.

Plenty of tell-alls from established stars don’t bother telling all that much. After all, why would you rock the boat when you already have all that TV money, right?

Well, Katie’s aptly named Going There is the exception, as evidenced by all the smoking hot goss identified by DailyMail.com in their look at the upcoming book. According to the outlet, the former Today show host criticizes former colleagues, drags ex-boyfriends, and goes hard at some celebs she’s met.

Supposedly she calls TV producer ex Tom Werner, who dumped her via email, a “textbook narcissist” and refers to her fling with Brooks Perlin, who was 17 years younger than she was, as a “midlife crisis.”

The 500+ page scorcher shades Martha Stewart as having required “some healthy humbling (prison will do that…) to develop a sense of humor.” Ouch. Katie also recalls Larry King making a pass at her and going on a 15-minute date with Michael Jackson — whose handshake she describes as feeling like a “dead fish.”

Couric also, per DM, talks about meeting Prince Harry during his “wild-oats sowing phase.” We’re guessing she means around the time of his 2012 nude party in Sin City. She remembers how the smell of cigarettes and alcohol seemed to “ooze from every pore” of the mid-20s royal. Really paints an olfactory picture there, doesn’t she?

According to DM, those who have read the manuscript have been aghast, with one telling them it “should be called Burning Bridges by Catty Couric as it literally reads like Kitty Kelley wrote it about Katie.” Whoa. Another critic predicts she’ll “never get a job at any television network or cable channel ever again because she attacks everyone.”

Sounds like a potential bestseller to us!

But it’s what she has to say about her acquaintance with Jeffrey Epstein that has us the most intrigued by far.

Back in February, Katie’s pal Chelsea Handler outed her by telling a story about being the journalist’s guest at a dinner at the billionaire pedophile’s house. Also in attendance, per Chelsea, were Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn, Charlie Rose, and of course Epstein’s good buddy Prince Andrew.

The Chelsea Lately star didn’t say when this gathering occurred, but based on tracking her friendship with Katie, we know it’s some time in or just after 2010. Meaning she should have known who she was dealing with at that point. Being a reporter and all, we mean. After all, his first arrest, when he evaded sex trafficking charges with the infamous “sweetheart deal” he was given, was back in 2006. But she makes it clear in the book she was in the dark about all that, writing that she had no idea why she was even invited to the dinner (which btw in addition to her and Rose also featured Bill Clinton adviser and GMA anchor George Stephanopoulos). She wrote:

“I couldn’t imagine what Epstein and Andrew were up to, apart from trying to cultivate friends in the media. Which, in retrospect, they must have figured they’d need when the pedophilia charges started rolling in.”

She did mention that her BF at the time, Brooks — who would have been about 36 years old then — remarked on how young the girls who took their coats were.

Describing Epstein’s $75 million NYC townhouse in detail, she refers to the decor as “Eyes Wide Shut with a twist – creepy chandeliers and body-part art.” She says the guests ate lasagna out of shallow bowls before their host “held court” in front of a fireplace. Yeah, nothing like a pedophile getting on his soapbox, we’re sure.

The Hollywood legend invited Dylan Farrow on Monday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show and got candid about working with Woody Allen in the past. The Golden Globe winner told the disgraced director’s adopted daughter, who accused him of sexual abuse when she was 7 years old, that she felt gaslit into it, explaining:

“I worked with Woody Allen. I did a film with him in 1996 called Everyone Says I Love You and there was no higher career calling card than to work with Woody Allen.”

Barrymore starred alongside Allen, Goldie Hawn, Natasha Lyonne, Julia Roberts, Edward Norton, and Tim Roth in the 1996 movie, which was nominated for best motion picture – musical or comedy at the Golden Globes.

The 50 First Dates star went on to explain that becoming a mother made her reevaluate the controversial filmmaker, sharing:

“Then I had children. And it changed me because I realized that I was one of the people who was basically gaslit into not looking at a narrative beyond what I was being told.”

Okay, props to Drew for coming to that realization — but saying she was “gaslit” into working with Woody? Does that make it seem like the Santa Clarita Diet star is trying to avoid taking responsibility? Or is it a legitimate reason?

We mean, even Kate Winslet — who famously defended working with Allen on the film Wonder Wheel — took explicit “responsibility” for choosing to work with the Midnight in Paris director after coming to her senses. She told Vanity Fair in 2020:

“What the f**k was I doing working with Woody Allen and Roman Polanski? It’s unbelievable to me now how those men were held in such high regard, so widely in the film industry and for as long as they were. It’s f**king disgraceful. And I have to take responsibility for the fact that I worked with them both. I can’t turn back the clock. I’m grappling with those regrets but what do we have if we aren’t able to just be f**king truthful about all of it?”

Of course, the passion in this response might have been to make up for Kate’s earlier, more defensive comments on the subject — but, hey, at least she fully owned up to it! For what it’s worth, Dylan thought Drew’s words were “incredibly brave.” Admitting she was trying to hold back tears, Mia Farrow’s daughter told the host:

“It is just so meaningful because it’s easy for me to say, ‘Of course you shouldn’t work with him. He’s a jerk, he’s a monster.’ But I just find it incredibly brave and incredibly generous that you would say to me that my story and what I went through was important enough to you to reconsider that.”

The Farrow family has seen their fair share of tragedy.

Mia Farrow and her children have most recently been in the news for the documentary Allen v. Farrow, an HBO series that recounts the case against Woody Allen for sexually abusing their daughter Dylan Farrow when she was a child. While the highly publicized controversy has been revisited many times over the years, the doc lays out the facts of the story in a compelling — and upsetting — manner.

But with Allen v. Farrow making (yet another) convincing case against the filmmaker, other accusations have risen about Mia. Soon-Yi Previn, the actress’s adopted daughter and Allen’s now-wife, previously gave her own account claiming her mother’s abusive behavior. Moses Farrow also alleged abuse against Mia, and even implicated her in the deaths of her other adopted children Tam Farrow, Lark Song, and Thaddeus Farrow.

With this speculation reemerging, the 76-year-old took to Twitter to set the record straight. She wrote:

“As a mother of fourteen children, my family means everything to me. While I chose a career that placed me in the public arena, most of my children have elected to live very private lives. I respect each of their wishes, which is why I am selective in my social media posts.

Few families are perfect, and any parent who has suffered the loss of a child knows that pain is merciless and ceaseless. However, some vicious rumors based on untruths have appeared online concerning the lives of three of my children. To honor their memory their children and every family that has dealt with the death of a child, I am posting this message.”

The activist continued:

“My beloved daughter Tam passed away at 17 from an accidental prescription overdose related to the agonizing migraines she suffered, and her heart ailment.

My daughter Lark was an extraordinary woman, a wonderful daughter, sister, partner and mother to her own children. She died at 35 from complications of HIV/AIDS, which she contracted from a previous partner. Despite her illness she lived a fruitful and loving life with her children and longtime partner. She succumbed to her illness & died suddenly in the hospital on Christmas, in her partner’s arms.

My courageous son Thaddeus was 29 and happily living with his partner; we were all anticipating a wedding, but when the relationship abruptly ended, he took his own life.”

Calling their deaths “unspeakable tragedies,” she stated that the speculation “[dishonors] their lives and the lives of their children and loved ones.”

The Rosemary’s Baby star concluded:

“I am grateful to be the mother of fourteen children who have blessed me with sixteen grandchildren. Although we have known sorrow, our lives today are full of love and joy. Everyone has their own battle to fight; their own sorrows that gnaw. I send you my best hopes and my love.”

While Allen v. Farrow may have disproved Moses’ account of the day Dylan was allegedly molested, it’s still entirely possible that his and Soon-Yi’s descriptions of Mia’s abuse had some truth to them. (The matriarch did admit to “slapping” her daughter after finding out about the affair with Woody.) However, seeing as Tam, Lark, and Thaddeus aren’t here to speak for themselves, it does seem wrong to create conspiracies around their deaths. We will keep them and their loved ones in our thoughts.

In a never-before-seen interview, Woody Allen addressed the accusations that he allegedly molested his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow in 1992 amid a heated custody battle with ex Mia Farrow.

For some background information, the 85-year-old director appeared on CBS Sunday Morning in July 2020 for an in-depth interview for the first time in nearly three decades. The conversation aired on ViacomCBS’ Paramount+ streaming service on Sunday — two weeks after the conclusion of the HBO‘s Allen v. Farrow. CBS News released a statement to Variety on why they decided to release the interview now, saying:

“Lee Cowan sat down with Woody Allen in July 2020 following the release of his memoir for what would be Allen’s first significant television interview in nearly three decades. The interview, which occurred last summer during an active news cycle, is being presented now given the renewed interest in the controversy surrounding the filmmaker. The exclusive for Paramount Plus offers the ability to explore Allen, his career, and the allegations in context and with the depth that this story demands.”

In the new sit-down, Allen continued to deny the inappropriate interaction with Dylan — something he has done for a long time now.

“It’s so preposterous, and yet the smear has remained. And they still prefer to cling to, if not the notion that I molested Dylan, the possibility that I molested her. Nothing that I ever did with Dylan in my life could be misconstrued as that.”

The Annie Hall filmmaker also said that he had not spoken to Dylan since the accusations first surfaced when she was 7 years old. However, Allen noted how he does believe Dylan was sexually assaulted.

“I believe she thinks it [happened]. She was a good kid, and I believe she thinks it. You know, I do not believe that she’s making it up. I don’t believe she’s lying. I believe she believes that.”

As you may know, Allen was never arrested or charged when investigations into the claim launched. The writer soon filed a lawsuit to gain custody over his and Mia’s three children — Dylan, Moses Farrow, and Ronan Farrow, but Allen later lost.

“There was no logic to it on the face of it. Why would a guy who was 57 years old, I never was accused of anything in my life, I’m suddenly going to drive up in the middle of a contentious custody fight at Mia’s country home yet — a 7-year-old girl? It just, on the surface of it, I didn’t think it required any investigation.”

The CBS Sunday Morning interview also included Dylan’s tell-all with Gayle King — where she recounted the sexual assault accusations against her adopted father for the first time on television.

As we mentioned before, the broadcast comes weeks after HBO aired the four-part docuseries that sought to reexamine the child molestation allegations against the screenwriter. Before the program was released, Woody and wife Soon-Yi Previn publicly denounced the documentary, claiming it “had no interest in the truth” and was just “a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods.”

Mia Farrow opened up Sunday night about the devastating impact Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn’s affair had on her love life.

In case you aren’t familiar with the backstory, the filmmaker has been accused of sexually assaulting the star’s daughter Dylan Farrow when she was 7 years old in 1992. Investigations into the abuse later followed, but Allen never got arrested or prosecuted for his crimes.

The filmmaker has repeatedly denied the molestation allegations but never the intimate relationship with her adopted daughter from her previous marriage.

Now, in the final episode of Allen v Farrow on Sunday, the 76-year-old actress spoke about her trust issue with men after her explosive split from Allen. She said, per People:

“I never brought [dates or significant others] home because I didn’t want to risk anybody falling for one of my beautiful children or grandchildren.”

Farrow infamously learned about the affair when she discovered nude photos of Soon-Yi in Allen’s possession, leading to one of Hollywood’s longest and most intense feuds. In fact, Allen has long blamed Farrow’s anger over the indiscretion as the motive for inventing a hoax about him molesting their own adopted daughter Dylan.

The Rosemary’s Baby star then added how she never wanted to make the same mistakes again — in regards to the affair and child abuse accusations.

“If I couldn’t trust Woody after 12 years, I would never take another risk with anybody else. I don’t trust myself to know. How would you know? I don’t know. So I never brought them home.”

Earlier in the HBO four-part series, Farrow said bringing Allen into her family’s world was “the greatest regret of my life.” The former model also detailed how her former boyfriend “weaponized” and “turned” Previn and her oldest adopted son, Moses Farrow, against her.

Unlike her other children, the now 43-year-old has sided with Allen — and in a twist has even accused Mia of child abuse. In the episode, Farrow said she held on to hope for Soon-Yi to one day return home and rebuild their relationship after the Woody affair ended. But of course that never happened; she and the Manhattan director are still together 30 years later.

“They are all people I loved with all my heart. They are all people that I would’ve laid down my life for. I love Soon-Yi. It took me six years to throw away the Christmas stocking I knitted for her thinking she would come back, but she didn’t.”

In the episode, Dylan further touched on how she felt responsible for the divide in the family after coming forward with her accusations, saying:

“None of my older siblings were ever the same. After the whole custody trial, my mom stopped having to go to court all the time, and we moved away from the city, and it was sort of a grace period where I thought, ‘OK, this is great, I can start over.’ We never talked about Soon-Yi or Woody. But there was a long period of guilt for me. I felt like I had caused a rift in my family. I felt if I’d just kept a secret that I could have spared my mom all this grief and my brothers, my sisters, and myself.”

Farrow’s less famous children, Daisy Previn and Fletcher Previn, also describe how the aftermath of Allen left their family completely “turned upside down.” Fletcher specifically mentioned:

“We were a tight family unit, and that was much less so the case after this. People went into survival mode. It was just a difficult time for everyone.”

Allen is currently married to Soon-Yi, and they share two daughters. In February, the couple shut down the series for being a “hatchet job riddled with falsehoods.” The two stated to multiple outlets:

“These documentarians had no interest in the truth. Woody and Soon-Yi were approached less than two months ago and given only a matter of days ‘to respond.’ Of course, they declined to do so. As has been known for decades, these allegations are categorically false. Multiple agencies investigated them at the time and found that, whatever Dylan Farrow may have been led to believe, absolutely no abuse had ever taken place.”
