About a week ago, she and son Kevin Hunter Jr. walked into a holistic health store in Newark, New Jersey, and snapped some pictures with the man who runs the place. That’s a BIG deal, because it marks the first time the Wendy Williams Show alum has been seen in public in 18 months!

Per Page Six, Wendy and Kevin went into a shop called Bolingo Balance in the city of Newark. There, they not only purchased some products, but also took pictures with a man named Victor Bowman. He runs the store, and is the son of its late owner — renowned holistic health practitioner Dr. Sebi, AKA Alfredo Bowman. As you can see (below), Wendy was smiling in good spirits as she posed with Victor:

Amazing!

And that’s not all. An employee told Page Six that Wendy was “sharp, upbeat, and aware” during the visit, and had been “very bubbly” while chatting with Bowman. At one point, she sat down with Victor and had him explain some products. The worker noted that while the 60-year-old daytime television alum wasn’t as knowledgeable, she listened closely as they were explained to her:

“She was engaging but wasn’t as familiar with what we do here, so her son was more explaining things. She talked about circulation improvement but didn’t want to get into too much detail on their first meeting and plans to come back in the near future.”

In the end, Bowman sent Williams away with several holistic products, including iron-rich herbs like contribo, sarsaparilla, and bottano oil. Plus, she received a bottle of Dr. Sebi’s famed capsules which promote hormonal balance. Gotta have hormonal balance!

It’s not clear exactly which day Wendy showed up at Bolingo Balance, but per Page Six, Bowman first shared the above photo on his Facebook page on August 19. So, it seems this was a recent development! And considering this is the first time Wendy has been seen in public since March of 2023, it’s big news!

With all that she is going through while battling Graves’ disease, lymphedema, frontotemporal dementia, and even primary progressive aphasia, she’s got a lot on her plate. The Wendy Williams Show alum celebrated her birthday more or less in secrecy — at least as far as her loved ones are concerned. Of course, the longtime daytime television talk show host has been battling major health issues including primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. And not only that, but she is currently under the care of a court-ordered guardianship via the oversight of a woman named Sabrina Morrissey. Her family asserts that move has pulled her away from loved ones and left them without a clue about what is going on with her.

As such, the legendary former radio shock jock’s family is really worried about her. And on Thursday night, an insider delivered to People an unsettling and, frankly, grim statement about Wendy’s milestone birthday as it relates to her family. That source said:

“Wendy Williams’s family is unable to speak on her current condition and location due to ongoing litigation and the fact that they have largely been denied contact. But they are all rooting and praying for Wendy and want to express their well wishes as she celebrates her 60th birthday.”

Oof.

The combination of contentious litigation and the general lack of an idea about WTF is going on must be so hard for loved ones to take. We can’t even imagine. The source tried to add an optimistic final thought to cap it, at least:

“She was, is and always will be an icon.”

We definitely don’t disagree with that part! At all! Few (if any) people have ever done it quite like her in the daytime TV game.

And yet this is also not the first time that her loved ones and those close to her have come out with claims of Wendy supposedly being kept far away from them. The whole thing continues to sound so sus in that regard. Ugh.

We know Wendy has been going through a ton in all areas of her life in the last few years, including several notable health challenges and some major looming financial problems. On Thursday, the U.S. Sun interviewed a woman named Regina Schell who was close to the Wendy Williams Show alum for years and years and years — 44 of them, to be exact — including talking multiple times by phone or in person every single day. But now, Regina hasn’t seen or heard from Wendy in MONTHS. And she’s terrified about what may have happened to the 59-year-old celeb!

Speaking to that media outlet about her friend of more than four decades, Regina began by alleging that Wendy may have been “forced to be quiet” amid the controlling guardianship in which she now finds herself:

“I want people to know that Wendy is a real person, and this is not some ‘karma is a bitch’ thing. Talking is Wendy’s life, her whole claim to fame is talking, and I don’t think she would be this quiet unless she was forced to be quiet.”

Whoa!

Schell took aim at a LOT of things that have been flying around Wendy’s world lately, too. Not only did guardian Sabrina Morrissey get called out in the interview, but so too did that Lifetime doc on Wendy’s career and life. Schell thinks that doc is especially strange because Wendy didn’t respond to it:

“There is no way in hell that she would not have responded to that Lifetime documentary, with all her family members appearing in it. Wendy would have had something to say about all of that, without a doubt.”

And with Wendy only last being seen in public in May of last year, Regina slammed the 13-month absence:

“Where is Wendy and why is no one asking that question? And why is no one answering that question? Why can’t they produce Wendy, or an actual statement from Wendy, or a picture of Wendy? Where is Wendy?! I haven’t spoken to my friend, who I spoke to five times a day, in over a year now.”

She went on to add:

“I think she should be surrounded by family and friends and people who love and support her, instead of some stranger who has her who knows where.”

The weirdest thing about it for Regina is that she hasn’t even talked to Wendy on the phone! The duo used to speak on the phone multiple times a day in the instances when they weren’t available to see each other in person. So, with Wendy completely out of commission, Regina is hurt:

“She’s somewhere that she can’t reach a phone because Wendy can always get to a phone, because if she could get to a phone, she’d be calling me.”

Ugh!

Regina even claims that she has a Chewy account to order food for Wendy’s cats Chit Chat and My Way, but the guardian Morrissey has allegedly been remiss in getting the food orders she sends over via the account. And in turn, that makes Regina worried not only about Wendy’s fate and current status, but also the talk show host’s beloved cats! Oh no!

In the end, Schell concluded with this very strong and heartbreaking statement:

“What is the end game? How does this end when her money is gone? Where is she? It’s got a sinister vibe to it. That’s what gets me. There’s something about it that just doesn’t feel right. There’s no sign of her beyond a statement that was made which doesn’t sound like her at all, and why hasn’t a medical team come forward to talk about her dementia diagnosis?”

According to a report from late Monday night in the New York Post, Wendy’s cherished Manhattan penthouse has been sold right out from under the daytime TV star by her legal guardian. The penthouse is in the Financial District, and was first purchased by Wendy back in 2021. It was hailed as her dream home at the time, and represented the perfect ideal of her Manhattan life. But now, it’s been shuttled off to a new buyer and Wendy can live there no longer.

Per the Post‘s report, the transaction officially closed last Friday. The sale price on the three-bedroom, three-bathroom penthouse ended up being $3.75 million. That is noteworthy because that actually represents a pretty steep decrease — more than $822,000 — from Wendy’s purchase price of the place back in July of 2021. Of course, considering the fact that Wendy was hit with a tax lien on the property back in March, it’s possible that getting out from under the investment ASAP was necessary, lower sale price be damned.

That’s not the concerning part, though. Even more worrisome is this: the news outlet accessed legal records which claimed that the 59-year-old Wendy Williams Show alum was deemed “incapacitated” by experts. Thus, her guardian had to get involved and make all the decisions regarding the sale of the property. An insider spoke to that news org about Wendy’s penthouse being transferred off to a new buyer — and by a third party, no less. That source didn’t sound happy about it at all:

“Wendy’s dream has always been to live in Manhattan in a dream apartment but never got a chance to do so. It is a very unfortunate situation.”

Ugh.

As you will no doubt recall, Wendy was diagnosed months ago with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. In addition to that, she’s been facing a sea of other health issues ever since wrapping her eponymous talk show in 2022. Those medical problems include a battle with Graves’ disease, as well as a fight with lymphedema, which is the swelling of the extremities caused by a collection of too much lymph fluid. And in addition to all that, she’d also sought treatment for a time at a rehabilitation facility in Malibu to battle alcohol abuse, as well.

Amid all of this, her mental well-being and ability to recognize what’s happening around her has come into question. That was the focus of a new and shocking documentary released earlier this year that horrified fans of the talk show host and her own family alike. Recent reports have also surfaced with claims that she doesn’t have any money, and her ex has gotten worried enough about that to demand to see her bank records. In the meantime, Wendy’s brother claimed back in February that she is “stuck” living in a treatment facility. Oof.

On Saturday night, the Dance the Night songstress took the Studio 8H stage for double duty as both host AND musical guest! But don’t worry — she didn’t take herself too seriously! During her opening monologue, the 28-year-old introduced herself before leaning into the viral “Dula Peep” meme. She said:

“My name is Dua Lipa, or as some people call me, Dula Peep.”

HA! Wendy Williams first branded Dua with the nickname when she mispronounced her name years ago and ever since, it’s had a hold on netizens. It’s good to see her having fun with it!

She also poked fun at the running joke that she’s ALWAYS on vacation:

She went on, “So tonight I promise you, I am going to give you everything!”

According to The US Sun on Tuesday, Kevin Hunter Jr. was served an eviction notice back in February after he was cut off from the daytime TV host’s funds. Of course, this was after the 59-year-old, who was known to always pay for her only son’s housing, was placed under a guardianship. The outlet revealed on February 26, directly after the Where Is Wendy Williams? doc premiered, the 23-year-old was hit with an eviction notice on his luxury apartment in Miami.

The legal docs from the time state:

“This is an action to evict the tenant from the premises.”

Apparently Kevin had failed to pay his February rent and racked up a $4,317.08 bill at the high rise complex. According to the lease agreement, his rent was $3,731 per month. He was served a three day notice on February 6 of his failure to pay, but by the end of the month he was served with the eviction. Oddly enough, though, by early March the landlord filed to dismiss the case — so we guess he got that all worked out!

This isn’t the first time Wendy’s son has been evicted in Florida — if you’ll recall, he was also kicked from his $2 million Miami apartment back in 2022 for failure to pay rent, as well. He’s also had other financial controversies surrounding his mother’s fortune…

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, the federal government hit the former host with a lien on the condo she bought in New York City for $4.5 million back in 2021. The feds claim Wendy owes a whopping total of $568,451.57 in unpaid federal taxes for the years of 2019 and 2021. Yikes!

Per that outlet, online records show that the lien came up in January 2023 and was recorded with the New York City Department of Finance in early February. At this time, there appears to be no evidence that the issue has been dealt with. However, TMZ noted Wendy could have already resolved the matter. Her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has not addressed the tax violations in a statement, though.

Perezcious readers know it has been a tough couple of years for the 59-year-old television personality due to her medical issues and mental health struggles. Last month, her team revealed she had been diagnosed with primary progressive  aphasia and frontotemporal dementia back in 2023. On top of her diagnosis, she claimed in her documentary Where is Wendy Williams? to have “no money” anymore. Her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, even re-opened their divorce case over unpaid severance payments amid the claims she’s broke.
