On Monday, The Wrap published a glowing article about the Top Gun: Maverick star, who’s slowly but surely but surely been solidifying himself as Tinseltown’s latest leading man. A Hollywood producer told the outlet:

“Glen Powell is most definitely an up-and-coming movie star in the sense that audiences now go to movies to see him.”

Then, in a cheap shot at Ryan, the producer boasted about how Glen’s appeal is far broader than that of The Fall Guy star:

“Unlike an actor like Ryan Gosling whose appeal is mostly limited to female audiences, Glen appeals to both females and males.”

Dayum!

X (Twitter) account @OneTakeNews posted the quote the same day. There, Glen not only saw it, but he responded to the dig at Ryan with some major praise! Referring to the 43-year-old’s role as Ken in 2023’s Barbie and his famous tagline “I’m just Ken,” Glen wrote:

“Gosling is a legend. I’m just Glen.”

We’ve heard extremes on both ends. A couple sources have said Justin body-shamed Blake with a comment about her weight! Even if he was trying to be tactful as we’ve heard, it was still horribly insulting to a woman who just gave birth to her fourth child. Others have said he was downright dictatorial and almost method acting as his abusive character. Yeesh.

On the other hand, production insiders have accused Blake and hubby Ryan Reynolds of hijacking the film from the less-well-known Justin so they could create a business opportunity for her.

We may never know the full extent either (or both) of these are true. But we have heard one juicy new tidbit. On her latest podcast DeuxMoi revealed she’s been getting tips about the movie set problems for months! Most of what she had in her back emails has already come out… Her sources mostly agreed Justin was tough to work with, with one saying he had a “huge ego” and wasn’t who he portrayed himself to be in public. Others corroborated the story about Blake and Ryan hiring their own editor out of pocket to make her cut of the movie — and though Justin’s tested better, Blake used her star power and friendship with author Colleen Hoover to get her way, telling Sony she wouldn’t promote the movie if they didn’t use her version. One even said she told them she’d get Taylor Swift to block them from using her song! DAMN!

But that’s all stuff we’ve pretty much heard before — not this one thing. An anonymous source from the set told Deux:

“Justin was a major d**k to everyone on set, and to top it off didn’t want any feedback from Blake when she had really great input. It got so contentious that they had to rehearse scenes apart with stand-ins and only actually saw each other for the actual scene shooting.”

Whoa! So when we’re hearing about factions developing on set, this wasn’t a secret thing. If these two wouldn’t even be on set together except for the filming when they absolutely had to, everyone would have known about it! Hell, she’s a producer on the movie, and he’s the director! This is worse than some of the other on-set conflicts we’ve followed lately then… and just might join the club of legendary star wars we’ve heard about over the years.

Here are a few other co-stars who refused to be on set together…

Jerome Flynn & Lena Headey

According to a tea-spilling Game Of Thrones crew member, Queen Cersei and Ser Bronn of the Blackwater are never in scenes together because the stars won’t even be in the same room!

Believe it or not, the two characters have never exchanged a word on the show, and have only ever been in the same shot once in a scene — without even looking at one another.

Fans will remember in the Season 7 finale Bronn leaves to “have a drink while the fancy folks talk.” And in Season 8, Episode 1 Cersei hires Bronn — but she sends her right hand man Qyburn to speak to him.

Rumor has it the actors, who briefly date IRL in 2002, had such a contentious breakup they now have to be kept apart at all costs.

We don’t know what they did to one another, but if they’re willing to make an entire TV production plan around them it must have been BAD.

The Rock and Vin Diesel

From their first meeting in Fast Five, Dominic Toretto and Luke Hobbs were on opposite sides of the law — but it turned out that animosity extended beyond the screen.

During the filming of the eighth movie in the Fast and Furious franchise, The Rock posted on social media about dealing with a “candy ass” on set. And it quickly became clear which costar he was talking about. Vin Diesel may have copped to the feud — but never to the initial reason. The closest we got was Johnson going on the record to Rolling Stone:

“Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.”

The result of all of this seems to have been the delay of FF 9, with The Rock’s spinoff with Jason Statham, Hobbs And Show, being pushed into production next — much to the chagrin of Tyrese Gibson, who started his own beef over the need to get paid on another of these films.

We doubt if The Rock will even return to the franchise proper, especially now that Vin has announced his wrestling rival John Cena is joining the next installment.
He finished his statement to RS:

“Right now I’m concentrating on making the spinoff as good as it can be. But I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have… Actually, you can erase that last part about ‘no ill will.’ We’ll just keep it with the clarity.”

Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts

I Love Trouble is largely forgotten, but the feud at its center will live in Hollywood infamy.

The 1994 film, about two reporters facing down danger to uncover a major crime, was meant to evoke the screwball romantic comedies of the 1940s, with Roberts and Nolte playing hated rivals who end up teaming up and then falling in love. However the enmity between the two stars was all too real.

According to Julia, her costar was abrasive and threw tantrums on set — and she did everything she could to stay away. Eventually despite their onscreen romance, the two had to be filmed separately with stand-ins! Years afterward the Pretty Woman star was quoted as calling Nolte “completely disgusting” in a NY Times interview. Nolte responded by saying:

“It’s not nice to call someone ‘disgusting.’ But she’s not a nice person. Everyone knows that.”

DAMN.

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams

This one is shocking as the costars famously dated after this incident.
But director Nick Cassavetes spilled the tea from behind the scenes of The Notebook about how one day Ryan Gosling refused to shoot with future girlfriend Rachel McAdams. He told VH1:

“Maybe I’m not supposed to tell this story, but they were really not getting along one day on set. Really not. And Ryan came to me, and there’s 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, ‘Nick come here.’ And he’s doing a scene with Rachel and he says, ‘Would you take her out of here and bring in another actor to read off camera with me?’ I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘I can’t. I can’t do it with her. I’m just not getting anything from this.'”

“I’m just not getting anything from this”?? And she still dated him after that?!
We mean, he is Ryan Gosling, but still…

Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes

For those of you who don’t even remember Blade: Trinity, let us take you back to a time before Marvel Studios had nailed the comic book movie formula…

In 1998, Wesley Snipes slayed as Marvel Comics’ resident vampire hunter in the action-packed Blade. But by 2004, he had gotten a bit… difficult, from what we’ve heard. He reportedly stayed in character and would only communicate to the director via notes signed “Blade.” In one scene he infamously refused to open his eyes, and his eyes had to be added in later with CG! Really!

Enter Ryan Reynolds…

Long before he was playing Deadpool, he was always basically Deadpool. He was an action hero in the making who couldn’t help himself from improvising and cracking wise on set, ad-libbing in his own jokes. Ryan may get paid the big bucks to do just that these days, but it was something Snipes supposedly couldn’t take. Word is, he would only come to set for his closeups for scenes with Ryan, leaving him to film everything else by himself or with a stand-in.

But 20 years later Ryan extended an olive branch to his former co-star, asking him to reprise the role of Blade for a surprisingly big role in Deadpool & Wolverine! So we guess they’re all good now!

Channing Tatum and Emma Watson

Both stars made appearances in Seth Rogen‘s star-studded apocalypse comedy This Is The End — but their cameos originally overlapped! Towards the end of the film, Channing Tatum appears in a gimp mask as the sex toy of Danny McBride.

Apparently Emma Watson was supposed to be in that scene, too. But word is she looked around at what was happening, and it was just too much. Of course, most of the wild debauchery was in the script — but according to an extra, Channing breakdancing in his leather sex mask made her walk off set and call her agent. Costar James Franco pretty much confirmed the story later, though he graciously never mentioned Emma by name, telling the story to Interview magazine:

“This actress — I won’t say who, but she had a smaller role in the film — walked off the movie in the middle of a scene. What was going on around her was, I guess, too extreme for her… And she said, ‘Yeah, I’ve got to leave.'”

We understand saying no to that kind of a scene when you’ve got a squeaky clean Hermione image you want to protect — but why agree to a script with a giant devil penis and an impaled Michael Cera (separate scenes, LOLz!) in the first place??

Helen Hunt And Bill Paxton

This one you’d never be able to tell by the movie — because it technically wasn’t in the movie!

Long before its sequel, Twister was one of the first modern disaster movies and still one of the biggest hits. And at the center of the 1996 flick was a His Girl Friday-style love story about two divorced meteorologists played wonderfully by Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton.

But things on set didn’t have quite so happy an ending…

Rumors flew at the time the stars didn’t get along behind the scenes — which couldn’t have been helped by the fact Hunt hated shooting the movie altogether.
Years later she described the “nightmare” to Huffington Post, saying:

“They didn’t paint in the hail with the computer. They made a hail machine and dropped giant balls of ice on us. I mean, it was crazy… They had firehoses pointed at us, and you couldn’t hear anything, which is not the safest way to make a movie, so I was really happy to make it through in one piece.”

We’re not sure how Bill Paxton made it worse, but the two apparently did NOT get along. But Helen Hunt has been an actress since she was a child, and she was a professional and did her job… until they decided to make a ride.

The Twister… Ride It Out ride was a mainstay at Universal Studios in Orlando for 17 years. If you rode, you probably remember the filmed bits before the ride began, in which Helen and Bill warned you about the power of wind — only they didn’t do it together.

Yep, the stars acknowledge one another on different TV screens, and this wasn’t done to make use of the space.

No, the stars reportedly wouldn’t even film the brief scripted interaction together and had to be shot separately.

So cute! But something you almost certainly didn’t notice from the shot? They weren’t alone! Ryan and Eva’s two daughters, 9-year-old Esmeralda and 8-year-old Amada, were with them! They were cropped out of the photo and left out of the coverage in general. It’s no secret the parents like to keep the girls — and their relationship — out of the public eye as much as possible. So you know the momma was filled with gratitude that their wishes were respected while at the games! She even took to her Instagram account to express her appreciation.

On Wednesday, Eva wrote alongside a selfie looking out the window of her hotel in France:

Of course, given it’s the Olympics, there are celebrities everywhere. And that means paparazzi are also everywhere. But thankfully Eva didn’t need to keep her “guard” up the entire time in Paris. She was able to enjoy hanging out with her family at the games — without dealing with her kids’ faces being shown all over the place! When a social media user wrote they were glad she and her family enjoyed the event, Eva replied:

“Yes! We did! Thank you! And I love @nbcolympics didn’t cut away to the kids ! And most sites blurred their faces so mama bear is happy about that. It felt so good to be there and feel unified with people.”

Aww!

The Hitch star then reiterated how “grateful” she was in a follow-up comment, saying:

“They were great about not posting the kids so I’m a grateful mama bear.”

And, unfortunately, it wasn’t all love and kindness in the comments section. She did have some accuse her of “complaining” when she shared her unease over the paparazzi. However, Eva stood up for herself, firing back:

“Im not saying I don’t expect it – I’m saying I put a guard up. Which I’m happy to do. I like that I don’t parade out there. But I feel like I can let my guard down on my page. Hence my post.”

She responded to another person, saying:

“I’m def not complaining – but once I feel cameras it’s like I turn off and go cold. Unless I’m at work of course. But don’t worry, I melt once I’m off camera.”

The actress joined the Disney Channel show in 1991 when she was 15. But two years later, at 17, she left the series — around the time when Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, and JC Chasez joined the cast. Keri told pal Jesse Tyler Ferguson during Tuesday’s episode of his Dinner’s on Me podcast “it was so bizarre” for her they were all on the show together. And it gets more “bizarre” from there…

Jesse was curious about when the teens had to leave the show. When asked if there was “a cut-off age” where the cast could “no longer be on it,” Keri did not hold back in her response — because there apparently were some really sexist double standards at play here!

The Felicity alum said Disney executives didn’t want “pregnant Mouseketeers” on their “roster,” so they cut the girls once they started to look “sexually active!” What the f**k! Keri explained:

“It’s usually girls who look like they were sexually active, which probably I was one of the first. They’re like, ‘She’s out. Oh, she is out. That one is gone.’”

Wow, not a number, just… a creepy judgment by some suit?! That’s so ICKY!

But here’s the thing. When it came to the male cast members, it wasn’t the same! They got to stay on the show for a lot longer — no matter what they were doing behind the scenes. Keri said:

“Meanwhile, the boys stayed till they were, like, 19. I was like, ‘By the way, I had sex with that person, so I know that they’ve had sex.’ For real.”

Whoa! Unfortunately for the messy bitches like us, she did not reveal which of her future-famous co-stars she slept with back then.

However, she made it clear there was an unfair cut-off discrepancy between the guys and girls in the Mickey Mouse Club. The Diplomat star continued:

“You know, girls and sexuality [is complicated]. And by the way, me, I [had], like, a 12-year-old boy body. There’s nothing really sexy about me, but I think that was what [made Disney] nervous.”

Jeez. The House of Mouse had some strict rules! Ultimately, Keri found success elsewhere after her time on the show, going on to star in Felicity, The Americans, and more. However, she can’t help but think things could’ve been a lot different for her if she wasn’t on the Mickey Mouse Club. The Waitress star noted she and her co-stars only got “out alive” after being child stars because they were surrounded by peers their own age:

“I think the creepiest part of kid acting is usually it’s one or two kids with all adults, and so that really accelerates the adultification of everything. And for The Mickey Mouse Club, there were 19 of us. The adults were invisible to me, you know what I mean?”

Over the weekend, Taylor Swift‘s ex Jake Gyllenhaal took the Studio 8H stage to close out the 49th season of the sketch comedy show. And nooooo, he totallyyyyyy wasn’t salty that he was only one episode away from hosting the premiere of the 50th anniversary episode! Ha! He said in his opening monologue:

“When you think of historic television seasons, the first number that pops into your head is 49. I mean, sure, one more episode and I would have been hosting the premiere of the 50th season, but who cares? [49] is a great number.”

The Roadhouse star ex continued:

“I know we’re all waiting for season 50, but, you know, you can’t get to 50 without a little bit of 49. And we’re here at the finale, the End of the Road.”

Jake then started singing the lyrics to Boyz II Men’s End of the Road, but with an SNL twist:

Kenan Thompson, Ego Nwodim, Punkie Johnson, and Devon Walker then joined him on stage and sang in unison:

“Although we’ve come to the end of the road / It’s the last episode / Time to say goodbye / Season 49 / You’ll be 50 soon”

And Jake wasn’t the only Taylor-related guest on Saturday’s show… Her bestie and Eras Tour opener Sabrina Carpenter was also in the Big Apple to serenade the audience for the season’s finale! First up, she sang her chart-topping single Espresso, and absolutely CRUSHED it! Watch (below):

Sabrina typically concludes Nonsense with an ad-lib relating to whatever city she’s in. This time, she sang:

She always kills it! However, we wouldn’t have been mad if she’d added a little riff in there about Jake and Taylor! That would have been the perfect opportunity! And we know Swifties would have gotten a kick out of it!

Sabrina also stuck around for a gruesome Scooby-Doo skit, where she played Daphne alongside Jake’s Fred. Watch (below):

And it’s one made at the expense of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Uh-oh! (Also, FYI, minor spoilers ahead!!!)

During the David Leitch-directed, Drew Pearce-penned blockbuster, Hannah Waddingham’s character apparently enters a disorderly trailer on set of the in-film movie production. In it, she remarks to Emily’s character:

“It’s like Amber and Johnny were just in here.”

Yikes…

As pretty much the whole world knows, Johnny and Amber spent the last few years in court battling over a highly-publicized defamation lawsuit in which both parties alleged physical, emotional, and mental abuse against each other. It was REALLY serious and shocking. Things just wrapped up two years ago, and both stars have since tried to move on. So, was a joke about it really the move to make here?!

On X (Twitter), fans made their disapproval known. Some wrote things like:

“’the fall guy’ made a distasteful ‘joke’ about the domestic abuse amber suffered at the hands of johnny. it’s 2024, why are we writing these kinds of lines into movies? nasty work”

During an interview with People published on Wednesday, The Other Guys star opened up more about her parenting arrangement with Ryan Gosling, whom she shares daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7, with. In March, she told Today that she and the Barbie star had “a nonverbal agreement” when they became parents that he was going to continue acting while she stayed home with the kiddos and found other ways to work. But don’t think that’s because she felt pressured to do so! She told People:

“I don’t succumb to societal pressure. Whatever I want to do, I do.”

It’s just that when it came to their kids, she didn’t want to miss out on all of the important early years of their lives! She explained:

What a great momma!

While talking about how she envisioned her life in her 20s, she revealed:

“I certainly didn’t think I’d have kids and be locked down.”

However after meeting Ryan and becoming a mom, she said it was the “easiest decision” she’s ever made:

“So I’m really happy that a certain man came into my life and made me change my mind about all that stuff.”

Believe it or not, last month Eva Mendes celebrated turning the big 5-0! And while that can be an uncomfortable milestone for anyone to reach, her man helped her to feel like it was no biggie! On Monday, an insider told People she had an “amazing” celebration, partially because of Ryan’s way with words:

“She seemed very comfortable turning 50. Ryan constantly tells her she’s beautiful. He made her birthday very special.”

That’s so sweet! Though it’s not like he has to flex that acting muscle to tell her she’s keeping it tight! Seriously, she’s absolutely STUNNING!

Eva’s bday was right smack in the middle of Oscars season, and of course Ryan was busy — he was up for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken in Barbie. And Eva was SO vocal about supporting her man! That’s because the two have the perfect balance figured out! The source added:

“Eva and Ryan are truly such a happy couple. They’re very supportive of each other’s passions. They’re also grateful for the financial freedom their work gives them, and they’re all about family time. They’re great at balancing everything.”
