Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry decided to share her past trauma with fans through a new TikTok trend. And they were NOT prepared for this much…

The mom of seven jumped aboard the “candy salad” trend in which everyone participating — in this instance, just Kail — puts some candy in a big bowl while revealing something about themselves. The video, posted on Saturday, has now garnered over 6 million views… and thousands of comments. The clips have left everyone shocked, and perhaps made them a bit more understanding of who this reality star really is.

Kailyn captioned the video “my villain origin story” and went through several packages of candy while she dropped disturbing details about her early life. While dropping some Swedish Fish in the bowl, she said:

“When I was 6 months old, I was kidnapped, brought to Texas, and my mom found me in the hospital with pneumonia.”

Whoa, WHAT?! So horrifying! And sadly, it doesn’t stop there. She went on to mention several more scary instances from her childhood, revealing:

“When I was 9 years old, I woke up with a strange man in my bed. I have no idea how he got there, who he is, or where he went afterward.”

Um… The 32-year-old continued on to talk about her experiences at just 10 and 11 years old, shocking fans by saying:

“When I was 10 years old I walked to my uncle’s house to ask if he had any food because I hadn’t seen my mom in days … When I was 11 years old, my babysitter did coke in front of my face on the coffee table.”

Kailyn told another story about how her mom showed up “under the influence” to pick her up from school when she was in fourth grade, and also revealed the sad way she lost her virginity… at just 14:

“When I was 14 years old, I lost my virginity on a sidewalk without even knowing what sex was.”

By 16, the reality TV star says she was legally adopted by her boyfriend’s parents:

“When I was 16 years old, my mom signed over custody to my boyfriend’s parents and told me that absence makes the heart grow fonder.”

Heartbreaking. And all of this took place when she was so young! She wasn’t even done yet, either…

Kailyn revealed she met her father for the first time when she was 17 — and it wasn’t a great experience:

“When I was 17 years old, I met my dad for the first time and he had a lock on his fridge and told me he eats roadkill barbecue.”

The final story, coming from when she was 19, is even more gut-wrenching than the last:

“When I was 19 years old, I was sexually assaulted by someone I knew and I never reported it to police but I did need to have repair done in the hospital by a plastic surgeon, and I never reported it because I felt bad and I didn’t know if he really actually meant to do it.”

Oh no… So, so sad. Poor girl… We’re so impressed she’s turned out so relatively normal and healthy!

That super exciting and unexpected news came out very casually on Thursday’s episode of her podcast Coffee Convos, during which she was wearing a big sparkler on THAT finger! Her co-host, Lindsie Chrisley, pointed out the diamond ring and openly wondered what happened:

“Are you married?”

The Teen Mom 2 alum quickly clarified for Lindsie and listeners:

“No, I’m not married. This is the ring that they give you before you get married.”

Ummm WOW!!! OK!!!! So that’d be an engagement then! LOLz!

So, why hasn’t she said anything about it yet?! Well, Kailyn’s been downplaying the exciting update because she claims that there was no formal proposal. She recalled her beau was always asking, “when are we going to get married?” But for a while, she was never “taking him seriously.” The mom of seven said:

“I was just like, ‘We’ll play this by ear. I’ll let you know, if you have a ring one day, we’ll reevaluate.’”

She continued:

“And then one day he just showed up with a ring.”

Awww!!!

Because they have both been married in the past — Kailyn to Javi Marroquin from 2012 to 2017 and Elijah to Kayla Brooke from 2018 to 2020 — the groom-to-be didn’t even get down on one knee! The reality star dished:

“We’ve both been married already, so we both don’t care about the whole, ‘get on one knee and make it all romantic and stuff.’ […] Because that’s just not how we are … He came into the bathroom one day while I was getting ready and he gave me the ring … I was like, ‘Oh my God, thank you!’”

The 16 and Pregnant alum added that she “doesn’t like being the center of attention” and “would have been happier if he had left the ring on the table and walked out.” LOLz! That’s not romantic at all!

“For the first one, it’s, like, a red top. In my opinion, the hair was not eating. It just, like, doesn’t look good. No, actually, I think it’s because it’s short hair. I don’t like her in short hair. This is not cute to me. And I hope she’s wearing a bra under this. What is going on?”

He also zoomed in on her manicure, which he called “crazy.”

The next look was Kailyn in a lacey black ensemble with curly hair and striking makeup. He said:

The Teen Mom 2 alum explained it all on the most recent episode of her Barely Famous podcast, which was released to fans over the weekend. She recalled having what she termed as “humbling” conversations with multiple plastic surgeons who all refused to perform breast augmentation surgeries on her! Yes, at just 32 years old, Kailyn got turned down by several docs. And it was all because of… her weight!

On the podcast, she revealed several medical professionals all told her to lose a pretty substantial amount of weight before they’d consider operating on her. Otherwise, the cosmetic surgery was seen as too risky. She explained:

“I want to get a boob job, right? I call around. I’m making these consultations to get a boob job. You know what they told me? They told me I need to lose 40 pounds. So, 40 or 50 pounds, more like 50 but maybe get away with 40 pounds, before they can even operate on me.”

Whoa!

Forty-plus pounds of weight loss is no joke. That’s a lot! Why would they need her to do that? After all, she was actually specifically seeking a breast reduction — which obviously would have come with its own really significant weight loss in addition to smaller implants being put in by the surgeons. But docs said she needed to drop weight first — otherwise the health risks were too great.

See, the more overweight you are, the harder your heart needs to work to get your body oxygen by pumping blood. Adding that extra workload while under the anesthesia you need to have surgery done puts you at higher risk of heart attack and stroke. At a certain point it’s just not worth the added risk for surgeons.

Recalling how was left “sobbing” after a phone call with one doctor’s office, the reality star explained:

“I’ve been wanting to do this breast reduction, implants, lift, whatever it is. I don’t even know if I can get my double chin done. Truthfully, I’d want to do that at the same time as my boob job because why would I pay for anesthesia twice?”

Can’t argue with the logic of that last part, we suppose…

The mom of seven did find at least one positive from the experience, though! She hopes it may help others who hear her story and take her advice. Warning listeners they need to be in the “right headspace” before booking consultations for breast augmentation and other cosmetic surgeries, the MTV alum said:

“If you’re not, you will be humbled by the fact that they may not be able to operate on you.”

FWIW, Kailyn actually said back in a January podcast episode that she wanted to begin using the diabetes-slash-weight loss drug Ozempic after giving birth to twins Verse and Valley at the start of the year. It’s unclear whether that’s a viable option right now, but in light of how much the conversations with those doctors seems to affect her, it seems like Lowry might be moved to take some kind of action.

Obviously, we’re glad medical professionals seem to have her best interest at heart here. Turning down risky surgeries is a necessary part of doctors doing no harm, as their oath asks of them. We’re just sad that it was so difficult and jarring for Kailyn to hear. That is NOT an easy conversation — no less one to have several times with multiple different docs. Ugh. In January, the Teen Mom alum revealed she welcomed twins, a baby girl named Valley and a baby boy named Verse, with her boyfriend Elijah Scott. The couple are also parents to a 1-year-old son, Rio. And, of course, in addition Kailyn was already a mom to boys Isaac, 14, Lincoln, 10, Lux, 6, and Creed, 3. So it’s a full house for the pair!

Despite having seven children already, though, Kailyn admitted on her Barely Famous podcast last month she wanted more kids! The only problem is? She got her tubes tied to prevent any future pregnancies after giving birth to her two babies. Obviously, the MTV personality could explore other options, like adoption, if she wants to expand her family again. But Kailyn may have had a change of heart on the matter! Now, both she and Elijah seem pretty adamant that they’re not having any more kids. Her baby daddy even took the big step to make sure there were no surprises in the future — even if the two of them broke up one day!

On Instagram Stories, Kailyn announced to fans that Elijah got a vasectomy. She said while mimicking the cutting motion with her fingers:

“Today is a big day, Elijah has an appointment. If you know what I mean. I have a dentist’s appointment which I don’t love. I can’t believe he’s doing this, I can’t believe we’re doing this. We’re both done having kids. That’s crazy, don’t you think that’s crazy? It’s crazy, but good. We’re done, we feel finished.”

Hey, nothing wrong with that! Everyone has to make that decision for themselves at some point. As for how he’s doing post-op? Kailyn shared in a follow-up video Tuesday morning that Elijah “survived” the procedure. Ha! Good to hear! She also took a moment to clarify why he would get snipped at the age of 26, saying:

“I got a lot of DMs about why he would get a vasectomy. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. I did see – one of my girlfriends messaged and was like ‘Isn’t he 22?’ And I was like, ‘No. He’s 26.’ He’s about to be 26. So the reason why is because he’s about to be 26 and has three children.”

Fair! Not to mention he’s a stepdad to her other four children, too! And we can imagine seven kids is a lot to juggle for the two of them! It would be for anyone! Totally understandable that they’re closing that chapter in their lives right now.

This became a big cause for concern in the comments of the post, with fans pointing out how “dangerous” the style was:

“Bit sharp for handling newborns.”

“Ma’am, you have THREE babies in diapers.”

“Those are SHARP AF with that walk-in appt. If she changes one diaper with those, the kid’s bleeding.”

“They’re boys.”

On Friday’s episode of her Barely Famous podcast, Kailyn revealed she is now expecting TWINS! Speaking with TikTok star Allison Kuch, she revealed she discovered the buns in the oven during a recent trip to Thailand with her beau. Referencing that event, she joked that she came home with “permanent souvenirs,” and added:

“I must have got pregnant right before I left and I had no idea. […] When I got there, I was eating everything. My face was flushed, but I didn’t think anything of it because I was like, there’s no way. There’s no way I am.”

The 31-year-old now has TWO new bundles of joy coming! We wonder if she’ll be adding any girls to her brood?! As Perezcious readers know, the Teen Mom alum’s family life has been the subject of much speculation over the better part of the last year. We reported back in February how the 31-year-old had been keeping a supposed secret childbirth under wraps. Insiders shared that she and boyfriend Elijah Scott welcomed a son in November of last year. From there, fans attempted to piece things together for further confirmation, remembering a since-deleted tweet from last summer of baby daddy Chris Lopez, in which he spoke about needing to “protect” Kailyn’s growing belly.

Around the same time, paparazzi pics came out of the reality star, which fans at the time argued showed off her pregnant belly (something we are NOT about to weigh in on! LOLz!). Still, there was no solid confirmation from Kailyn herself, with her even going as far as to say on her Coffee Convos podcast that a psychiatrist advised her to to only “share with people who deserve to hear it,” and to not share information with people who don’t “earn” it.

Kailyn definitely is in a more private stage of her life after parting ways with the MTV reality show, explaining on the Season 11 reunion in May of 2022:

“I think I need to move on. I think I need to do my own thing.”

However, she’s not completely out of the spotlight. She still has her podcasts and social media presence. Seems like it was always going to be tough to stay private while having such a public persona.

In Tuesday’s episode of her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast, Kailyn interviewed guest Aurora Culpo of The Culpo Sisters, and mentioned that she watched the star’s show while “in the hospital having one of [her] kids.” She explained:

“I actually watched — I first came across your show [when] I was in the hospital having one of my kids. The first episode that I saw was, I believe, you told your parents that you were, maybe, separating or divorcing and then one of your sisters was going to watch your kids.”

Doesn’t seem like there’s too much there, right? She’s had four kids! Well, reality fanatics were quick to point out that the one and only season of the show aired in November 2022 — the same month insiders reported Kailyn welcomed her fifth son!
