This is heartbreaking!
Angie Harmon is mourning her furbaby Oliver after the dog was shot and killed by an Instacart driver! According to the Rizzoli & Isles star via Instagram on Monday, her German shepherd/beagle mix was murdered by a delivery man who was dropping off groceries at her Charlotte, North Carolina home on Saturday. Alongside a series of photos of the pup, she explained:
“This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver. He got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog. Our ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded. The police let him go b/c he claimed ‘self defense’. He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn.”
Jeez.

The actress went on to note that the individual “was shopping under a woman’s identity named Merle,” and she shared a screenshot of the account in her Story. The 51-year-old then addressed just how traumatizing the situation was for her whole family, adding:
“He shot our dog with my daughters & myself at home & just kept saying, ‘yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah I did.’ We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member. #RIP OLLIE “
In her Story, the Law & Order alum reposted a devastating message to the shopper, which was seemingly written by her 20-year-old daughter Finley Sehorn (though some outlets are reporting that the note was written by Angie). It read:
“To the man who took Ollie away from us: your actions are despicable and inexcusable. You’ve not only robbed us of our beloved member of our family but you’ve also traumatized us beyond measure. The fact that someone could commit such a heartless act is beyond comprehension to me and I’m devastated that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him.”
Her 18-year-old daughter Avery Sehorn added in her IG Story:
“Rest in peace sweet Ollie. This is not how you were supposed to go.”
We cannot even begin to imagine the amount of grief the family must be feeling right now. Such senseless violence! In response to the sickening incident, a rep for Instacart told People:
“We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform. We have been in direct contact with the customer and are cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation.”
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department also told the outlet that, per their investigation, the driver arrived at the home and delivered the order. He was then allegedly attacked. CMPD Public Affairs claimed:
“The driver told officers that a dog attacked him while he was at the residence and that he defended himself by firing a single gunshot, striking and mortally wounding the dog. Another dog was present at the residence but did not attack.”
CMPD’s Animal Care and Control also responded to the scene. The driver has not been charged with anything yet and the “CMPD is not currently seeking any additional parties.” We hope justice will be served for this adorable pooch and his family. R.I.P. Ollie!
