Khloé Kardashian‘s son Tatum Thompson has so many similarities to her younger brother Rob Kardashian that she wanted to make doubly sure — er, triply sure — that the two weren’t anything more than uncle and nephew. Seriously.
On Tuesday’s SHE MD podcast, the Good American founder chatted all about her son and the rest of her family with host Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi. As we’ve already covered, a big chunk of the conversation involved Khloé revealing exactly why it took so long for her to settle on a name for Tatum. But as it turns out, that wasn’t the only Tatum-related thing stewing around in her brain for a long time!

So, it’s no secret that Tatum is very, very similar to Rob — and also to Khloé’s late father, Robert Kardashian. Both Khloé and momager Kris Jenner have publicly said as much. That’s not just talk, either. Tatum reminds Khlo-money so much of her 37-year-old brother (and her dad!) that she can’t ignore the parallels. She explained:
“My son looks just like my brother, and my brother’s one of my favorite people. My son’s a year and a half, and my son’s sarcastic, and my dad had a really dry, silly, just crazy sense of humor. And there’s glimmers of my dad in Tatum. I’m like, ‘this is so freaking weird.'”
Cute, right? Seeing her late father in her baby boy must be so meaningful and heartwarming.
But it goes SO much further than that! Tatum’s Rob-like characteristics were so intense right from infancy that Khloé eventually wanted answers to make 100% sure that Rob wasn’t some secret sperm donor!! Because Tatum was born via surrogate as an IVF baby, Khloé didn’t have, um, complete confirmation as to the moment of conception — if you know what we mean. So, when she started noticing the boy take after Rob, she demanded baby daddy Tristan Thompson take not one but THREE paternity tests to prove there really was a DNA match!
OMG!!
Gobsmacked but still very serious about the situation, Khloé explained to Dr. Aliabadi:
“Because he was an IVF baby or a surrogate baby, I was like, ‘Rob, have you ever donated sperm somewhere?’ I made Tristan do three DNA tests for Tatum. He was so offended. In this family, that would not surprise me, but that would be so disgusting.”
Jeez. That would be disgusting. It makes our skin crawl just to think about it!!
In the end, Tristan’s paternity tests came back good, and Rob turned out to be nothing more than an uncle. That Rob (and Robert Kardashian Sr.’s) characteristics and personality traits are so prevalent in Tatum speaks to nothing more than the power of genetics, we suppose. But still… what a crazy moment for Khloé. And what a wild request to be made of Tristan! THREE paternity tests! Hey, at least he has plenty of experience with those already. Zing!!
