Khloé Kardashian said these words out loud for everyone to hear…!!!
In a new interview on the She MD podcast, the reality star opened up about the birth of her son Tatum months after Tristan Thompson’s paternity scandal. And it sounds like she wasn’t prepared for her baby boy to enter the world at the time — at all! Khloé explained she planned one last weekend away at a hotel with her daughter True Thompson. You know, to get in some final one-on-one mother-daughter bonding time before Tatum was set to be born in a couple of weeks. But the plans went out the window when she received a call from her OBGYN, Dr. Thais Aliabadi, saying it was time. The Good American founder said:
“I remember, Dr. A. called and said she just had a checkup with my surrogate, and she said, ‘Khloé, we have to deliver within 24 hours.’ The baby wasn’t due for another week or two and this was my last weekend with my daughter, True. I just needed the weekend. We were gonna just have a hotel weekend.”

Rather than accepting the situation for what it was, Khloé revealed she pushed back on the new due date… in order to have a weekend away with True. Khloé recalled:
“And so I go, ‘No, we can’t do this.’ And [Dr. A’s] like, ‘No, there’s no fluid in the sac. We need to do this.’ And I go, ‘I’m having a weekend. I’m having a weekend with True.’”
And you won’t guess what her doctor suggested next! According to Khloé, Aliabadi offered to take her son after he was born until she was “ready to pick him up.” WHAT!? She said:
“And she goes … this is the Mother Teresa, she goes, ‘OK,’ because I started hysterically crying because it wasn’t even about the weekend, it was about now this is real. She goes, ‘You know what?’ I’ll deliver the baby. I’ll take the baby and you let me know when you’re ready to pick him up.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘Who does this? Who even offers that?’ And she did.”
We understand that a final weekend to bond with your oldest child can be important before welcoming a new child into the household. But girl! C’mon on now!
Thankfully, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum eventually snapped out of it and realized she needed to suck it up and be with her son on the day of his birth:
“And I remember I was like to myself, ‘Khloé, snap out of it. This is life. We got to do this.’”
Um, yeah. So Kim Kardashian, being her “prince on a white horse,” drove Khloé to the hospital. We saw the moment play out on an episode of The Kardashians, including when the 39-year-old television personality met her little guy. Khloé remembered of that time:
“If you ever watch the episode and when you [Dr. A] place the baby on my chest, I have a mask on, you can see my eyes, they’re blank, and I’m just like, ‘How is this happening?’”
Khloé has been super candid about how hard it was to connect with her son after his birth. Fortunately, after a few bumps in the road and panicking over a trip, things seem better than ever. Watch the podcast episode (below):
