The nine-time Grammy winner dropped a new collaboration with Charli XCX on Friday and it has EVERYBODY talking… For better or for worse! If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s called Guess and Billie’s feature debuted with a panty-filled music video — as the song is about guessing “the color of my underwear.” Ha! But while some fans are loving the collab, others aren’t pleased with the Birds of a Feather songstress’ lyrics.

In her verse, the 22-year-old, who has been open about being attracted to women, ends her verse proclaiming:

“Charli likes boys but she knows I’d hit it / Charli, call me if you’re with it”

In a TikTok that has now been deleted, one user called out the lyrical content as “highkey predatory” towards Charli, 32, accusing Billie of “queerbaiting” — an accusation she’s been facing for years. The TikToker also criticized the singer of “reducing girls to mere objects, all in an effort to convince the masses she’s actually into them.”

Yikes. But her big brother Finneas O’Connell won’t stand for it!

In the comments of the since-deleted video, the 27-year-old SLAMMED the “clown” social media user. He wrote:

“What a take you little clown. I got to watch the entire internet slam my sister for queer-baiting for an entire year when in reality, you were all forcing her to label and out herself.”

Big brother to the rescue!

Back in 2021, Billie faced backlash after claiming to “love girls” after releasing a music video for her hit song Lost Cause. She didn’t clarify exactly what that meant at the time, and years later accused Variety of outing her in an unrelated interview — like how Finneas said fans tried to force her to “label and out herself.” She said at the time:

“thanks variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters i like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares stream ‘what was i made for’”

As for the claim that her lyrics are predatory towards Charli, the British singer doesn’t seem to subscribe to that idea. In a video Billie posted on her Instagram promoting the collab, Charli commented:

“Billieeeeeeee!!!!!!! ahhhh tysm for being on this track i’m beyond honored. love and respect forever!!! you’re one of a kind xxxxxx”

If you’ve been following, there’s been a bit of beef between the two musical artists’ fandoms in recent weeks after the release of the 31-year-old’s newest album Brat. Immediately upon hearing Sympathy Is A Knife, listeners were CONVINCED that it was about the 34-year-old and her relationship with Matty Healy. Those rumors were quickly refuted by insiders saying the song was about another The 1975 love interest, but the tension didn’t stop there, unfortunately.

When Charli’s album Brat was rising on the charts in the U.K. after its release, Tay Tay suddenly released a U.K. exclusive version of The Tortured Poets Department, which fans believe was her pushing the 360 singer down in order to claim another number one. Fan wars started online between Swifties and Angels — but now, things have gone a bit too far!

A fan made the Von Dutch songstress aware of some fans at her show in Brazil chanting “Taylor is dead!” And she was NOT happy to hear this. We can imagine! What an awful thing to say! Fan arguments should never be going in this direction! Charli was quick to share a message to her Instagram Stories shutting those fans down:

“Can the people who do this please stop. Online or at my shows. It is the opposite of what I want and it disturbs me that anyone would think there is room for this in this community. I will not tolerate it.”

Hopefully now things will calm down between these two fandoms. Tay has yet to address any of the feud rumors, but it’s good to see Charli stand up against this kind of unacceptable behavior, ya know?! Reactions, Perezcious readers?

When Charli dropped Brat last week listeners got the idea her new song Sympathy Is a Knife was all about Tay. See, the song is about being around another woman who she doesn’t get on with — someone dating her man’s bandmate. She sings:

“Don’t wanna see her backstage at my boyfriend’s show / Fingers crossed behind my back / I hope they break up quick.”

Her fiancé, George Daniel, is in The 1975. She even namedrops him in the song. So naturally folks wondered if she wrote it in that month Taylor was dating their frontman Matty Healy. Was she singing the lines “I couldn’t even be her if I tried / I’m opposite, I’m on the other side” about Tay? Was this her own British rockstar version of You Belong With Me? LOLz!

Well, a source told DeuxMoi it wasn’t about Tay AT ALL! On her Deux U podcast this week, she explained the insider actually messaged her weeks ago to give her the lowdown, it just didn’t make sense before the song dropped:

“Hey, heads up, if you start getting questions if this song is about Taylor, I just want to let you know it’s not.”

Who is it about?? The insider said:

“It’s about another actress that started hanging around, trying to latch onto another 1975 band member. But at the time he was dating someone else, and she got him to step out. Him and said actress are currently still dating, but clearly Charli wished they would break up.”

Gasp! This is way juicier than Matty and Taylor’s story, as it turns out! Just not as famous! Fans’ best guesses based on that info? They wonder if it was Chloe Bennet!

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star apparently has been dating Ross MacDonald, the band’s drummer, for the past few months. Hmm…

The 1975 frontman is engaged to Gabbriette Bechtel! The 26-year-old first sparked engagement rumors on Wednesday morning when she shared photos to her Instagram Story after attending a Charli XCX concert in Brooklyn — but it turns out they weren’t rumors at all. In the pics, she flashed a large black diamond ring on THAT finger, writing:

“MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT”

That’s obviously a reference to the pop star’s new album Brat — the namesake of whom is also engaged to The 1975 drummer George Daniel.

Sooo, was the young model simply referring to her pal?! Or was she hinting that she’s engaged, too?! At first, it was hard to know since she seemed to move the ring to her right hand in another upload. See the pics (below)!

Considering Matty and Gabbriette first sparked engagement rumors last November, just two months after they were linked, it wasn’t clear if the couple was just teasing fans or not. But now we know it’s OFFICIAL!

Matty’s momma Denise Welch confirmed the news on Wednesday’s episode of Loose Women, saying:

“I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged … They went over to see their friends Charli and George in New York and I woke up this morning to the fact they’ve put it on Instagram. Instagram official … he’s got engaged to Gabriella Bechtel — Gabbriette she’s known as. Black diamond; he had it made for her. I couldn’t be more thrilled. … We couldn’t be happier. She is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law. I’m thrilled.”
