Amid her It Ends With Us scandal, interviews have been unearthed showing the Gossip Girl alum in a more negative light, thanks to her rude attitude and poor choice of words. And this latest resurfaced interview is no exception!

On Monday, a New York magazine interview from 2008 resurfaced — in which the actress totally slammed the outlet AND her ex-boyfriend Penn Badgley in one fell swoop! She was gearing up to film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, in which she has a kissing scene with Alan Arkin. The 36-year-old was apparently pumped about kissing the esteemed elderly actor — and used it as an opportunity to diss Penn and their GG co-star Chace Crawford:

“He’s a little bit of an upgrade from Chace and Penn. So I’m looking forward to that.”

Ouch!

She was rumored to be dating her onscreen beau Penn at the time (they were linked from 2007 to 2010), so that’s brutal! And if you thought she was saying it in a joking way, maybe not. The publication even noted in the article that it was a “harsh” comment! So journalists Jessica Pressler and Chris Rovzar tried to get some clarity. Unfortunately, when they asked the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants alum about her IRL romance, she did NOT take it well! Blake clapped back:

“I thought this was New York magazine. I thought you were supposed to be classy.”

Yikes!

While it’s not the worst thing she’s said in these unsurfaced interviews, it’s still not nice at all — or classy, for that matter! A simple “no comment” would’ve been enough. But we guess this is nothing new for her. Blake seems to have built somewhat of a mean girl reputation behind the scenes since the majority of her Gossip Girl cast doesn’t follow her on Instagram, including her ex Penn. Innerestingly, Chace does still keep tabs on her. So, that’s something. Though by all accounts he may just be too nice to give anyone the cold shoulder like that.

But all these unearthed interviews are really making her look bad amid her ongoing beef with IEWU co-star and director Justin Baldoni! As Perezcious readers know, the duo have been feuding since before the movie premiered a couple weeks back, and nobody’s 100% sure what’s going on. While pretty much the entire cast and the book’s author Colleen Hoover have sided with Blake, the full reasons behind the rift are unclear. Some insiders claim it’s because the cast is equally upset by Justin’s alleged “borderline abusive” behavior on set. Meanwhile, others are claiming the cast just don’t want to get on Blake and Ryan Reynolds‘ bad side since they’re such powerhouses in the industry!

The allegations against the Jane the Virgin alum are certainly icky, but it’s inneresting to see he hasn’t been getting dragged thanks to his former interviews like Blake continues to! She certainly keeps putting her foot in her mouth! Plus, Justin’s taken the promo of this current film so much more seriously than his counterpart! Just one of many things to consider when trying to figure out this ongoing rift!

So the official line has always been that they did not get together then. Ryan and Scarlett ended their marriage, Blake and Penn broke up. And even then Blake and Ryan didn’t jump right into a relationship together, starting off on a double date where they were both with other people. Ryan told EW in 2016:

“We were buddies then. I remember it was funny because, for about a year after ‘Green Lantern’ had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single. We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl.”

Then out of nowhere lightning struck and they realized they were meant for one another. Perfect — and with absolutely no overlap. Or… was there??

Now that everyone is spilling their Blake Lively mean girl moments, a best-selling author has now dropped the claim Ryan DID cheat on ScarJo with Blake! And reporters found out! But you know how Blake deals with journalists… They didn’t stand a chance.

Cat Marnell, an acclaimed writer for XoJane, Vice, Glamour, and more, clearly isn’t scared anymore! The author of NY Times Bestseller How To Murder Your Life, dropped the bombshell allegation on X (Twitter) on Thursday:

“Fun fact Blake lively and Ryan Reynolds hooked up when RR was still married to ScarJo, and holed up in a NOLA hotel room during the green lantern”

OMG! Wow.

OK, first of all New Orleans is absolutely where they filmed Green Lantern. If they were hooking up then — as many have surmised over the years — no question that was cheating! And if so, that means anything else they’ve said over the years about just being friends then was a lie!

So how did they keep it under wraps?? They very nearly didn’t she continued:

“US Weekly had discovered this, & their beauty editor would tell us this at events & abt how RR&BL teams’ threats squashed the story”

In a subsequent tweet Cat also confirmed the Us Weekly beauty editor she was talking about was none other than Gwen Flamberg. Damn!

OK, OK, OK. These aren’t randos, these are real celeb beat reporters who would have the goods on a story that got killed! For Cat to come out and say Ryan and Blake’s teams bullied them into not doing the story is SO WILD!!! She even used the word “threats”!

E! did hint at something at the time, writing that Ryan had not been “up to wedding vow snuff” while on the Louisiana set. But that quickly went away and got replaced by the more palatable story. We guess Blake’s team got to them, too?

So why now? Has it been long enough no one fears retribution? Or more likely the tide of public opinion has turned so much on Blake that no one cares what she says now?? Wow. We wonder if ScarJo will come out and say something. Or Penn!

But the more folks are digging, the more everyone is looking at Blake’s history. We mean, just look at that cringey interview where she insults a film journalist!

Well… after some digging we can tell you co-stars Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szohr, and Michelle Trachtenberg don’t follow her on Instagram. NO ONE wants to know what’s going on with Blake?! That’s a BIG cold shoulder from your former co-stars! In fact, the only Gossip Girl cast member we could find that still follows her is Chace Crawford! Wow!

We have heard in the past that Blake and Leighton, who played pals Serena and Blair on the show, didn’t get along in real life. Exec producer Joshua Safran confirmed to Vanity Fair back in 2017:

“Blake and Leighton were not friends.”

He said they were “friendly” on set, but that they were just two very different people. He said he remembers Blake being “very much in the moment” and that she “knows what’s happening”:

“You talk to Blake on a very contemporary level, and she would be like, ‘I’m doing this thing tonight. Have you been to this restaurant?'”

He said Leighton was the opposite, “very removed and very quiet, and, after her scenes were done, she would wander the stage.” Well, OK, they weren’t similar people. But like… they’re not even friendly enough for a polite follow all these years later? That seems like more than just not being besties IRL.

And for Blake to not be followed by anyone? (Apart from Chace, who frankly seems like the nicest person in the world?) It’s sus, no?

A few months back Sofia confirmed the word on the street about the couple’s breakup, telling El País:

“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom.”

That is pretty much exactly what sources had been saying about the couple, right from the start of news of the divorce. He wanted kids, and the Modern Family star — being a bit older and already having raised a son to adulthood — had no interest. And ultimately he realized it was more important to him than he’d thought. That was the story we heard, that was what she seemed to be backing up.

Things got spicy last week when Joe basically called her a LIAR over the whole thing!

The Deal or No Deal Island host told Men’s Journal what she said was “simply not true.” He claimed they did have “a huge conversation right out of the gate” about kids, and she wasn’t opposed. He says they even tried, and it just didn’t take! And now the idea he left over the kids thing is offending him! He said:

“To be painted as if I had some sort of midlife crisis, and after nine years, turned to somebody and gave them an ultimatum of, ‘Do this potentially unhealthy thing to your body, or else I’m gone’? That’s never who I was.”

But the thing is… He does want to have kids with his younger girlfriend, right?

We’ve heard he and Caitlin O’Connor had been kind of fast-tracking the idea of starting a family, even though they hadn’t been together very long. It really fit the narrative Sofia was apparently backing. And it turns out… Joe is kinda confirming that part!

Speaking on the Podcrushed podcast on Wednesday, he said having kids was “definitely on the docket” for him right now. When asked directly by host Penn Badgley about having kids, the Magic Mike alum said:

“Yeah. For sure. That was never not on the table. At every stage in life that was always, you know, that was something that was always talked about. That was always on the forefront of any serious relationship that I got into.”

Interesting wording, no? Joe also said he’s “always wanted to be a father,” quipping that he has BDE — “big dad energy”:

“I think I have a lot to give in that department.”

He also says he enjoys being a “fun uncle” to his two nieces — something he’s shown on his Instagram page:

So it sounds like Joe and Caitlyn HAVE talked kids, and really early in the relationship! Whether that was because of what Sofia said or Sofia said it because it was always something he was going to want — so much that he was willing to file for divorce — well, that’s something you’ll have to decide for yourself. Kind of a he said, she said situation, isn’t it?

Last Month, the thank u, next singer became the subject of a spirited social media brouhaha after appearing on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast. ICYM the viral clip, Ari totally switched from a higher, breathier octave while speaking about her return to making music to a lower tone while going off-topic in a candid moment.

Fans quickly accused her of using her “customer service voice,” having “two personalities,” and trying to keep “regular Ariana” restrained. Others blamed it on the character of Glinda, which she portrays in this year’s Wicked film. The whole thing was wildly debated online at the time! And now, she’s revisiting the topic.

During an appearance on Evan Ross Katz’s Shut Up Evan podcast on Tuesday, the 31-year-old pop star explained:

“I think it’s just a very normal thing that certain conversations are different tonally. If I’m feeling very bubbly, I’ll sound more bubbly. If I’m feeling more serious, I’m gonna sound more serious. I’m not the same all the time — no one is!”

She doubled down on a previous notion that she alters her voice to “preserve [her] vocal health,” before confirming that she initially got into the habit of speaking in the higher-toned, breathier voice to prep for Glinda:

“Another thing that is very real is that I just spent a long time playing a character every single day and training my voice to do different things for a long time, even before leaving for London [to film Wicked]. The voice is in the body. It’s an instrument, and muscle memory is a real thing. If I slip in and out of mannerisms or tonal shifts that I trained myself to do every single day for two years, that’s kind of a normal thing.”

She went on to compare her situation to that of male actors who go “method” for roles, but don’t receive the same criticism that she did:

“You see with male actors that after the fact, people are always like: ‘Oh, wow! How dedicated he is to his craft. The transformation! He’s a brilliant performer!’”

*Cough* Austin Butler *cough* *cough*

She continued:

“And if God forbid I sneeze like Glinda or make an intonation like her, then I’m crazy and ‘someone should check on her.’ After I made that comment [about changing my vocal placement], I started thinking about the other ways in which this is normal, and not only normal but also: I had a job to do.”

The Yes, And singer concluded:

“It’s a strange thing to be under such a microscope and sometimes people don’t really know what that’s like, so it’s the weirdest thing. We all do that. We all acclimate, and we all have different modes.”

We can understand where she’s coming from here. BUT!!! This isn’t the first time she’s come under fire for the way she speaks! Back in 2018, she was accused of speaking with a Blaccent … which, uh, yeah. We haven’t forgotten about that! Gonna blame THAT on vocal health??

For those unfamiliar with her latest controversy, here’s a refresher. The singer appeared on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast last week when she revealed her dream dinner date. And it’s hella controversial, y’all! Out of all the people, living or dead, Ari picked… Dahmer! Yeah. A serial killer! She said:

“I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger.”

This isn’t the first time she dropped the shocking answer, either! Years ago, according to Ariana, a young fan asked her the exact same question about her ideal dinner date. After getting permission from the parents to give her a “real answer,” the bye artist replied:

“I was like, ‘Jeffrey Dahmer’s pretty fascinating. I think I would have loved to have met him, maybe with like a third party or something. But I have questions.’”

Dahmer notoriously murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Not only did he brutally kill his victims, but he also ate some of them. And yet, Ariana would love to just sit down and have dinner with him?! What?!

Understandably, her morbid fascination with Dahmer did not go over well with a lot of people. That includes the family of aspiring model Tony Hughes, who Dahmer killed after meeting him at a gay bar in 1991. His mom, Shirley Hughes, slammed Ariana for her remarks! She told TMZ on Thursday that it made her both emotional and concerned. Why? She felt her hurtful words showed a complete lack of empathy for the loved ones of the 17 victims. Shirley even went as far as to call the pop star “sick” in her head! She said:

“To me, it seems like she’s sick in her mind. It’s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him. It’s also not something you should say to young people, which she says she did.”

Damn. But she has a point! On top of her controversial remarks, the Victorious alum laughed while talking about her interest in Dahmer. Understandably, that further disturbed Shirley. She reminded everyone, especially Ariana, that she and the other victims’ families endure real pain whenever the killer is brought up so publicly.

Tony’s sister, Barbara Hughes-Holt, shared similar sentiments to the outlet by pointing out that the Wicked star’s comments glamorize Dahmer. She added:

“Unfortunately, until it happens to her and her family, she just doesn’t know what we have been through.”

Talking about who would be her dream dinner date, she explained she already had an answer to the classic interview question. No, she didn’t say the talented and cute Evan Peters — but the monster he played on Netflix. Yeah… she said Jeffrey Dahmer!

While chatting with the You star, Ari revealed:

“I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger.”

In fact, she reminisced on a time years ago during a Q&A with young fans when one asked who her ideal dinner date would be, and she had the same answer:

She said she asked permission from the young fan’s parents if she could “give the real answer,” which they agreed to — not know what she’d say! And so she did:

“I was like, ‘Jeffrey Dahmer’s pretty fascinating. I think I would have loved to have met him, maybe with like a third party or something. But I have questions.’ And the parents were like, ‘We’ll explain it later, sweetheart.’”

The Yes, And? singer was Penn Badgley’s latest guest on his Podcrushed podcast, and she had fans in a frenzy over her switch in accent mid-conversation! While talking about her latest album Eternal Sunshine and the possibility of putting out a deluxe version with new songs, Ariana explained:

“I went to the studio the day after the Met [Gala] and I stayed for 10 days and I was literally living there and I felt like I woke up today and I felt like Austin Powers being unfrozen, and I was like, ‘Where have I been?’”

Penn complimented her reference to the Mike Myers films, which the We Can’t Be Friends singer candidly responded to in a deeper tone than she had been speaking in for the rest of the interview:

The 30-year-old then quickly switched back to her higher, breathier tone, and added:

“But, yeah I’ve been writing a lot and maybe there’s some more, but I would like to do a deluxe at some point.”
