Social media users have a few things to say to The View hosts after they never brought up Hugh Grant’s mega-awkward interview with Ashley Graham during his appearance on the talk show this week!
ICYMI, the 62-year-old actor spoke with Ashley on the Oscars red carpet on Sunday night, and the whole conversation was BEYOND brutal! He seemed completely uninterested in answering any of the questions and gave her very little to work with. What’s worse? Hugh even rolled his eyes at the 35-year-old model at the end of it! Awful. Many people called him out for being “rude” to Ashley. However, the former America’s Next Top Model judge does not seem to be letting their interaction bother her, as she simply told TMZ:
“You know what? My momma told me to kill people with kindness, so there you go.”

As for Hugh? The Love Actually star hasn’t addressed the controversy yet. In fact, he did not say one word about it when he had the opportunity to do so while promoting his new film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, on The View on Thursday. Plus, the hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin — never even asked about the matter! Instead, Whoopi mentioned another supposed “viral moment” he had at the Oscars: his reunion with his Four Weddings and a Funeral co-star Andie MacDowell while presenting the award for Best Production Design. You can ch-ch-check it out (below):
Yeah… No one would say the mini-reunion was the most talked about the moment with Hugh at the Oscars. And viewers were quick to point out that fact on Twitter while slamming the hosts for not asking a single question about the situation with Ashley. See some of the reactions (below):
“Awful you didn’t bring up Ashley Graham smh.”
“how could you not address the Ashley Graham interview with Hugh grant?”
“so we not going to ask hugh grant about his red carpet moment ladies #theview”
“I’m so disappointed that not one host confronted Hugh Grant about his rude attitude towards Ashley Graham during her interview on the red carpet at the Oscar’s. She deserves an apology.”
Others also defended The View hosts, noting that they might not have been allowed to bring up what happened with Ashley on the show:
“So, I guess Hugh Grant went to the #TheView with the agreement not to touch what happened with him and Ashley Graham? Because not a word, let alone a sentence!”
“how could you not address the Ashley Graham interview with Hugh grant? I’m guessing he said he didn’t want to discuss it which unfortunately makes me feel he’s as arrogant as I thought he might be. #TheView”
They have a point! It could have been an off limits topic! But what do YOU think, Perezcious readers? Do you believe The View hosts should have had Hugh address the cringe-worthy interview with Ashley? Or do you feel this whole situation is getting blown out of proportion?
