As we previously reported, two men were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly planning terror attacks at events in Vienna, including one of the pop star’s Eras Tour shows this week. Thousands of fans planned to attend the concerts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, so this could have been a massive tragedy if their plan hadn’t been stopped by the police in time — just like the horrific bombing during Ariana Grande’s show in Manchester. Or even the devastating mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas.

Manchester was shocking to the entire world. A suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured hundreds at the 7 Rings singer’s Danger Woman concert in the city back in May 2017. Sadly it wasn’t even the only massacre at a concert that year.

Just five months later, a man shot and killed 58 people at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Sin City. The devastating incidents rocked many people at the time, especially in the music industry — including Taylor. In fact, five years before this week’s scare, she admitted in a column for Elle in 2019 that the back-to-back tragedies made her “completely terrified” to tour again ahead of Lover Fest as her “biggest fear” was the possibility of a terrorist attack at her concert. Oof. She wrote at the time:

“After the Manchester Arena bombing and the Vegas concert shooting, I was completely terrified to go on tour this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months. There was a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort put into keeping my fans safe.”

Her “fear of violence” continued into her “personal life,” too. Following the two catastrophic events, Taylor said she even started to carry “QuikClot army grade bandage dressing” for “gunshot or stab wounds.” It’s heartbreaking she feared for her safety so much she had to take such extreme measures just in case. Sadly, her worries only increased as her personal information became easily accessible online to stalkers:

“Websites and tabloids have taken it upon themselves to post every home address I’ve ever had online. You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things.”

Despite her concerns, Taylor tried to remember there is still “good in the world”, expressing at the time:

“Every day I try to remind myself of the good in the world, the love I’ve witnessed and the faith I have in humanity. We have to live bravely in order to truly feel alive, and that means not being ruled by our greatest fears.”

And she didn’t let her “greatest fears” rule over her. Taylor fully planned to move forward with Lover Fest, but the shows were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. A few years later, though, she embarked on her record-breaking The Eras Tour. Except for a scary incident with a stalker, everything was going smoothly out on the road. But as we mentioned, her international leg of the tour took a very scary turn due to the planned terror attack. Again, thankfully, the plot was thwarted before anyone got hurt. But out of an abundance of precaution, the three shows in Vienna are canceled now.

We cannot imagine how shaken Taylor must feel at this time — especially as this comes on the heels of the mass stabbing at a dance event themed around her in the UK. Our hearts go out to her and the Swifties in Vienna. We’re so glad everyone is safe. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know.

As Perezcious readers know, the shocking documentary addressed allegations of creepy and toxic workplace behavior from Dan Schneider, who worked on and created many Nickelodeon shows for years — including Victorious. Quiet On Set slammed the sitcom, created by the producer, for being filled with inappropriate sexual innuendos for its young cast and audience. Looking back at Victorious, Ariana Grande got much of the adult material. You see her pouring water on herself while lying upside down on a bed in one clip. Meanwhile, another showed her sucking her toe. And this was on a kids’ show! What the f**k.

Last month, the pop star spoke out about the documentary bombshells on an episode of Penn Badgley‘s podcast Podcrushed. She told the host she was “reprocessing” everything she experienced on Nickelodeon after watching Quiet On Set and old videos from the show. And she is not the only one from her cast!

Elizabeth Gillies finally addressed the documentary for the first time. She and BFF Ariana actually watched the doc together, and now she’s reevaluating her time on Victorious, too. The Dynasty alum said in a new interview with Variety on Tuesday:

“I certainly reevaluated my experience with Ariana over FaceTime. We watched it together, and then we got together later that week or the next week, and we sort of broke the whole thing down and talked about it, and reprocessed everything together. There was a lot to go through.”

Initially, Elizabeth had nothing but fond memories of Victorious. But in light of the new details from the documentary and really thinking about her time on the show? Her memories soon became tainted:

“It’s tricky when you look back on something incredibly positively, and then you learn a lot of information and also revisit things as an adult through a new lens that reframe the memories in your mind a little bit, or cloud them, or taint them — maybe rightfully so. So, taking that time to thoughtfully look back, reassess and reevaluate was an important thing to do, and that’s something we did.”

Looking back, Elizabeth feels “lucky” to have had not only Ariana but the rest of the Victorious cast, including Victoria Justice, Avan Jogia, Leon Thomas III, Daniel Monet, and Matt Bennett, with her at the time. She added:

“I’m very lucky I have such a close relationship with my cast — and with Ari — and that we were all able to do that together, because we definitely leaned on each other, talked amongst each other and checked in with each other.”

When asked what kind of “protections” should be in place to “protect child actors,” the Broadway star noted that “parents should be allowed to be wherever they want to be, whenever they want to be” — especially if the child is “very young.” She continued:

“In the event that they’re not different, I do think the responsibility is on the parent to assess the situation. And sometimes, the parents are part of the problem too. I think you’ve got to listen to your kid, too, and know what kind of a kid you have. And I know that sounds weird, but certain kids don’t really know what they’re getting themselves into. A lot of the realities of acting in general, even if you take the word ‘child’ out of it — it’s grueling, it’s difficult. The child has to want it so much.”

Furthermore, Elizabeth feels a “psychiatrist” should talk to an aspiring young actor and their parents before starting a project. As she put it, this career “has to be what the kid wants” at the end of the day, with no pressure from their parents:

“I almost wonder if a psychiatrist or a psychologist should evaluate the child and speak to the parents before they sign them off to let them be on a set or a show, just because it’s such a huge undertaking, and children don’t often know what a huge undertaking it is, and then they can feel trapped or pressured. I think it can’t come from the parents. I think that’s always a recipe for disaster. It has to be what the kid wants, 110,000%, and they have to be ready to work. [Parents] have to make sure that there is respect on the set for the children, that they’re being treated as children, although it is an adult job. It’s a tough one, man.”

It’s definitely not an easy answer! Elizabeth went on to point out how “damaging” it can be to force a kid into this job:

“[Acting] is all I wanted, and all I wanted to do was go there every day and put my head down and work. I cannot imagine what it must feel like for a child that was pushed there by their parents and had no interest in acting and had to come to work and do that grueling job every single day because for me, it was a treat. And for someone else, I mean, what a nightmare. It’s like, if someone made me go play baseball for 10 hours a day, I’d be crying in my room at night. It’s just because it’s not what I want to do. Everything’s hard. Sports are hard. Acting is hard. Any job is hard. And if it’s not your dream and you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into, it can be a total nightmare, and it can be very damaging to your life, your mind and your mental health.”

Yes, you read that right! The strange rumor Ariana Grande is a people-eater is apparently circulating on the internet — to the point where her brother had to address it!

The wild rumor seemingly started when the pop star shared on the Shut Up Evan podcast earlier this week that she hoped to go on a “mini” tour for her latest album, Eternal Sunshine. Naturally, Arianators got excited about her potentially touring again. And although it was not an official announcement, some fans still took it upon themselves to try and stop others from getting tickets.

You see, there’s a viral trend on social media in which an artist’s supporters will scare off others from purchasing concert tickets by making up the most outlandish accusations about the performer — so that there are a lot of seat options when they officially go on sale. What they’re aiming for is the effect Justin Timberlake‘s DWI arrest seems to have had, only with fake scandals.

Given the great Eras Tour Ticketmaster debacle of 2022, it’s not hard to see why fans are going to such extreme lengths now — even though it’s f**ked up. Especially the rumor Arianators started spreading around online…

Apparently, to discourage purchasing tickets to her shows, which, again, she still had not formally announced yet, fans began to say Ariana was a cannibal! Yeah, seriously! It may have been all good fun at first, but things got out of hand because some people fully believed the allegations! Someone even took to TikTok on Wednesday to falsely claim the police once discovered human remains in the Yes, And? singer’s home! See (below):

Funny enough, Ari accidentally fueled the rumor herself. Just last month, she said on the Podcrushed podcast that her dream dinner date was the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who notoriously murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He sometimes even ate his victims! It’s no wonder social media users just ran with this bizarre accusation with zero proof! Yeesh!

Ariana hasn’t addressed the ludicrous claim. However, her brother thankfully stepped up to shut everyone down for her! Frankie took to X (Twitter) on Thursday to slam the “extreme” rumor, saying:

Last Month, the thank u, next singer became the subject of a spirited social media brouhaha after appearing on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast. ICYM the viral clip, Ari totally switched from a higher, breathier octave while speaking about her return to making music to a lower tone while going off-topic in a candid moment.

Fans quickly accused her of using her “customer service voice,” having “two personalities,” and trying to keep “regular Ariana” restrained. Others blamed it on the character of Glinda, which she portrays in this year’s Wicked film. The whole thing was wildly debated online at the time! And now, she’s revisiting the topic.

During an appearance on Evan Ross Katz’s Shut Up Evan podcast on Tuesday, the 31-year-old pop star explained:

“I think it’s just a very normal thing that certain conversations are different tonally. If I’m feeling very bubbly, I’ll sound more bubbly. If I’m feeling more serious, I’m gonna sound more serious. I’m not the same all the time — no one is!”

She doubled down on a previous notion that she alters her voice to “preserve [her] vocal health,” before confirming that she initially got into the habit of speaking in the higher-toned, breathier voice to prep for Glinda:

“Another thing that is very real is that I just spent a long time playing a character every single day and training my voice to do different things for a long time, even before leaving for London [to film Wicked]. The voice is in the body. It’s an instrument, and muscle memory is a real thing. If I slip in and out of mannerisms or tonal shifts that I trained myself to do every single day for two years, that’s kind of a normal thing.”

She went on to compare her situation to that of male actors who go “method” for roles, but don’t receive the same criticism that she did:

“You see with male actors that after the fact, people are always like: ‘Oh, wow! How dedicated he is to his craft. The transformation! He’s a brilliant performer!’”

*Cough* Austin Butler *cough* *cough*

She continued:

“And if God forbid I sneeze like Glinda or make an intonation like her, then I’m crazy and ‘someone should check on her.’ After I made that comment [about changing my vocal placement], I started thinking about the other ways in which this is normal, and not only normal but also: I had a job to do.”

The Yes, And singer concluded:

“It’s a strange thing to be under such a microscope and sometimes people don’t really know what that’s like, so it’s the weirdest thing. We all do that. We all acclimate, and we all have different modes.”

We can understand where she’s coming from here. BUT!!! This isn’t the first time she’s come under fire for the way she speaks! Back in 2018, she was accused of speaking with a Blaccent … which, uh, yeah. We haven’t forgotten about that! Gonna blame THAT on vocal health??
