Over the weekend, Brittany took to Instagram to share some milestone news for her and the Wild ‘n Out host’s oldest son: he’s starting fourth grade at just 7 years old! In a lengthy post, she gushed about her “bright babies,” which also include daughter Powerful Queen, 3, and son Rise Messiah, 22 months, gearing up for their big day. She wrote:

“Back to school for all of us!! My bright babies!! And my Rizzy who is already ready for school and had to jump in before we all were off!!”

She then raved about Golden’s advanced intelligence:

“Golden is 7 in 4th grade (yes he’s advanced and yes his emotional intelligence matches his cognitive intellect)”

Wow!! What a smart lil guy! We hope he’ll be OK hanging with all those 4th graders!

She also added that “last year Golden ran for and was elected as his class representative,” so it’s clear that this kid has big ambitions already! Good for him!

The Hero singer announced in a statement to People on Monday that in a “tragic turn of events” both her mother Patricia and her older sister Alison died separately on the same day. The day Mimi provided her statement, David Baker, a longtime friend, revealed Alison had been in hospice for three weeks prior to her death. He also said Mariah knew, but didn’t ever reach out. Now, he’s speaking out more about his friend’s “tough life” and estrangement from the My All singer.

Speaking to People on Wednesday about Alison’s passing, David explained:

“We saw it coming, but it’s still a shock. She got ill fairly quickly and a month later, she’s gone.”

Unfortunately, the last time Mariah saw her late sister was either in 1994 or 2002, according to David. Either way, over 20 years.

As we’ve covered in the past, the two had a falling out in ’94 amid Alison’s tough life. She got pregnant with her first child at just 15 years old and because of her lack of work experience, found it difficult to bring home money. So she unfortunately turned to teen prostitution. In 1987, she had her second child, and just one year after that, she tested positive for HIV.

On top of all that, she also struggled with substance abuse. The late 63-year-old made it known that Mariah had paid for multiple of her rehab stints, but things finally came to a breaking point in 1994. Patricia apparently went to pick up Alison’s son Michael for a weekend visit but ended up taking him in full time and got temporary custody because she felt Alison was an unfit mother.

Years later, Alison returned the favor. She launched a shocking lawsuit against her late mother, claiming she subjected her to sexual assault in satanic rituals when she was just a child. You can read more about that HERE.

As for Mariah, she made it clear in her 2020 memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey that it was “emotionally and physically safer for [her] not to have any contact” with her big sister.

Such heartbreaking stuff. It’s so sad that things had to go that way for the Carey family.

However, just because Alison wasn’t close with her sister and mother doesn’t mean she had no one. David spoke about first meeting his late friend in 2015 after she suffered a traumatic brain injury during a terrifying home invasion, which affected her short-term memory. It was Alison and Mariah’s brother Morgan who reached out in a Facebook support group asking if anyone would be able to go visit and spend some time in the hospital — and David stepped up. He explained:

“I knew when I saw the request that I was the only person anywhere near Albany, New York, so I said, ‘Well, I’m going to go for this.’ They eventually sent me to the hospital and I met Alison.”

And over the past nine years, David said “hardly a day went by” where he and his friend didn’t speak over the phone:

“I saw somebody who needed help and I knew I could do it. She’d tell me that she was so glad I was around. More recently, before she got sick, if I went somewhere for an hour, she’d call and say, ‘When are you coming back?’ And I’d say, ‘Well, I’ll be there in 20 minutes.’ And then she’d call a second time and say, ‘When are you coming back?’ Because short-term memory was affected by the brain injury.”

He even helped find her Coxsackie apartment in New York three years ago, which was ultimately where she passed away. He told the outlet:

“She got her wish. She died in her own home.”

But before that, David shared that her four kids — three sons and one daughter — visited two to three weeks before her death. And her daughter, who apparently lived close, even began visiting daily.

We’re so glad to hear she was surrounded by loved ones in her final days. She lived such a difficult life. May she and Patricia both rest in peace.

In a lengthy Us Weekly cover story on Wednesday, sources opened up about how the Duchess of Sussex has found her new purpose after taking her Prince Charming and going home. Noting that she’s gone through many career changes in her past, a family friend told the outlet:

“You’re established in one world and then you enter another and your narrative is dictated by external forces.”

After leaving the royal family, Meghan and Prince Harry made a splash by doing several media projects and interviews, but it quickly became apparent none of it was panning out the way they had hoped. Their podcast, their Netflix deal, nothing was hitting.

In recent months, however, the Suits alum has clearly been preparing for her next shot. Not only is she teasing the launch of her lifestyle company American Rivera Orchards, but she’s also taking pointers from Hollywood powerhouses like Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow. She joined them and others at the house of broker Amy Griffin for a one-day business summit in July, an insider dished:

“Meghan was there to network. She was very kind and humble and eager to learn.”

Over the summer, she’s also gotten more involved with various charity organizations, like The Parents’ Network, a campaign to protect kids from online harm. She and her hubby also made a trip to Colombia. A second insider reflected:

“Meghan has transitioned from actress to royal to entrepreneur. She’s worn many hats, but she believes age and experience have [prepared her] for a bigger purpose in life. She’s very happy with the role she’s carved out.”

It was important for her to take the time to process everything and come up with a new plan of action after her initial media blitz post-royals, the family friend acknowledged:

“After Spare, [Harry and Meghan] realized, ‘OK, we’re ready to move on. We want to focus on our future. We can have meaning and importance separate from the lives we had previously.’”

They added:

“Meghan doesn’t harbor any negative feelings. She just wants peace, and knows you can’t find peace if you harbor resentments.”

She seemed to address this herself earlier this month in Colombia, saying:

“So much of how I approach things is less about the fight and more about how do we show up in the space and wash things over with love and kindness and generosity.”

Take her feud with Princess Catherine, for example. While she was happy to wish her well amid her cancer diagnosis, Meghan and Harry have not spoken out about other royal matters — and that’s on purpose. The family friend dished:

“Meghan’s team gets asked daily to comment on stuff that has nothing to do with their lives now. They have left it behind.”

She’s also left some of her own family members behind, like controversial father Thomas Markle, the first source said:

“Meghan still has no contact with her dad. She does not plan on having a relationship with him, and he has not met his grandkids. That ship has sailed.”

Instead, she leans on her pals and “has a great group of friends who are all successful in their own ways who she really trusts.” This includes Serena Williams and Ellen DeGeneres plus other local moms she meets up with regularly. The first insider added that she’s “very close” with neighbor and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd while a second insider said she’s befriended entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima, cofounder of IT Cosmetics.

Things are a bit more difficult for Harry. He “has a small [group] of close friends,” the second source shared, claiming he prefers to keep his inner circle small for “understandable reasons.” While that may be true, we have been hearing his UK friends don’t like his wife and that’s a big reason he’s become more lonely. Not to mention, most live in the UK, and he had to move to California — so that can’t be easy! Regardless, it sounds like he’ll always put his family first, the source went on:

“He’ll always be fond of his home country, but the way he views it, his wife and kids are his priority. If that means making sure they’re safe and happy in Montecito, then he supports that.”

The husband and wife are both very hands-on parents who want their kids Archie and Lilibet to have normal childhoods despite their fame, the family friend continued:

“They take the kids to school, they pick them up, and they are very active and present with them throughout the day.”

Referencing the Duke’s battle for security in the UK, the family friend insisted the children are going to stay out of the spotlight for their safety, noting:

“I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t. … [Prince] William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable. And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does.”

It sounds like the kids may not even understand their royal heritage yet, as the friend pointed out, “they’ll have those conversations in due time.” Right now, Meg and Harry want the little ones to feel loved for who they are:

“They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is vibrant and happy.”

The second source added that the parents are happy just being parents right now. Thankfully they apparently have plenty of time despite working on their Archewell Foundation campaigns and launching their business ventures. But as the kids get older, anything is possible:

“Afterwards who’s to say? But I think the focus is very much on raising their two children.”

And staying on the same page really helps. Meghan and Harry have been leaning on each other for support this whole time, the friend shared:

“They’re so in sync. Throughout their relationship, they’ve stood together no matter what.”

The second insider revealed that they enjoy downtime together and try to keep a positive mindset and are motivated to do their best work always, saying:

“It’s rooted in the bonds they share together.”

As for their new life in California, they do a lot of low-key activities like gardening, hiking, and cooking. The second insider described it as “a California lifestyle.” What, they don’t garden in Merry Old England??

While it was no doubt difficult to walk away from the royal family, they do have a big bonus now. They can work on “projects they are passionate about as opposed to being given projects to do,” making the work “more personal,” the second insider dished. Good point!

Along with The Parents’ Network, Meghan is working on her new initiative, the Welcome Project, which helps empower female refugees from Afghanistan. A third source who has worked with the former actress told the outlet:

“Female advocacy remains a centerpiece of her philanthropic intent.”

She’s also looking forward to launching her lifestyle brand sometime early next year, around the time her new Netflix series is supposed to premiere. The second source expressed:

“[ARO] will likely be very much in line with who Meghan is as a person. She loves hosting events, and she’s very thoughtful about how she treats her guests whenever they come over.”

The third insider said her series “is going to be a take on her and the joy of living,” including “little things she’s learned in terms of being a modern-day hostess.” It’s been rumored Harry may make an appearance. For now, the sources just promised there would be many familiar faces joining in.

So, Meghan has a lot on her plate coming up — but she’s NOT planning to run for office, return to acting, or write a memoir despite rampant rumors, the third confidant maintained. She’s just being Meghan:

“Meghan’s in the middle of her story right now.”

Maybe one day! Right now, a big passion of the 43-year-old’s is simply to give back, the family friend added:

“She knows her life would be extraordinarily different if she did not marry who she married. There is privilege and so much room to do good. She wants to meet the moment and make good on her good fortune.”

The friend noted that it was hard for her to “be herself” in the royal household which is why this change of pace is so refreshing, they shared:

“Most people are not really allowed to be themselves — if you’ve watched The Crown, I think that’s pretty understood.”

That’s why she’s so excited about this moment:

“There’s air and space and room. She can just be who she is.”

It’s certainly an exciting time with so much still to come from Meg! We just hope her business ventures and media projects are more successful this time around! Otherwise, she’s gonna have to come up with a whole new plan!

After spending time in the Cayman Islands following his divorce from Elizabeth Chambers and after sexual assault and cannibalism allegations, he is finally back in Los Angeles and has been “for a couple of weeks.” This prompted him to make a change, he detailed:

“I got a new car, it’s tiny, it’s a hybrid, I’m probably going to put about ten bucks in gas in it a month.”

Despite already getting a new car, the 38-year-old was having reservations about selling. He said his kids Harper, 9, and Ford, 7, were “not happy about this,” telling the camera:

“They’re, like, ‘Dad all of our memories in the truck.’”

He added:

“So I haven’t told them yet. But I’ll tell them and they’ll be fine, kids are adaptable. I just keep telling myself that parking is going to be easier and gas is going to be cheaper.”

Donald Trump‘s pick for Vice President in this election cycle is in the news again on Wednesday morning for comments he made back in 2021. They were aimed at Randi Weingarten, the head of the national teacher’s union American Federation of Teachers. And in those old public comments, he slammed Randi for not having kids of her own — but wanting to control what other people did with their kids when it came to school and learning.

Vance’s 2021 words about Weingarten were delivered during a Center for Christian Virtue leadership forum moderated by conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, and they were VICIOUS! “You know, so many of the leaders of the left, and I hate to be so personal about this, but they’re people without kids, trying to brainwash the minds of our children. … If she wants to brainwash and destroy the mind of children, she should have some of her own and leave ours the hell alone.”

It’s giving “childless cat lady” vibes again! JD just can’t keep his yap shut on stuff like this, can he?! He is truly doing an amazing job at tanking Trump’s campaign! The remarks first resurfaced after the liberal news site Heartland Signal uncovered them on Tuesday. Quickly, Harris’ campaign accounts re-posted and amplified the video on social media. And immediately, people FLOODED the web with reactions! Over on X (Twitter), users blasted Vance for being relentlessly weird and off-putting with his comments about other people’s kids:

“Ah, a very systematic approach to candidate vetting. Bravo!”

“Its not just weird how he’s obsessed with other people having kids, it’s creepy”

On Monday, Alison Carey‘s longtime friend David Baker told The US Sun Mariah “cut off” contact with her big sister, and that their relationship next to nonexistent ever since:

“Alison was unhappy that her ‘baby sister’ had cut off contact with her. She talked about it frequently. She wondered if Mariah or any of her relatives would come to her funeral. I am told that a memorial service is planned for a future date, but nothing now.”

As we reported on Monday, Mariah told People that her sister and mother Patricia sadly died on the same day “in a tragic turn of events.” She said:

“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”

The 55-year-old didn’t reveal the details of how her mom and sis died. Her mother was 87, so it’s just been assumed natural causes. Alison was quite sick, too, apparently.

According to the outlet, Alison had been dealing with drug addiction, homelessness, and a multitude of health issues over the last nine years, including being HIV positive. Just last year, Alison took to social media to reveal she was “living without teeth” because she didn’t “have the money” for dental work.

She was reportedly in hospice for the final three weeks of her life. David claims Mariah was made aware of Alison’s condition — but never made an effort to reach out:

“No, Mariah has never tried to contact Alison, even after she was told a month ago that Alison was dying. A phone call or, better still, a video call would have meant so much to Alison. But it never came. And now Mariah is ‘heartbroken’ by the loss of her mother and her ‘ex’ sister. That callous rejection added more hurt to Alison’s pain.”

Oof. If true, that’s… that’s rough. But of course we don’t know the most intimate details of their relationship. It’s impossible to judge these situations from the outside.

Obviously David has a different opinion of Alison than Mariah. He remembered his friend fondly while speaking to the outlet:

“Beneath a tough exterior, Alison was a highly intelligent, warm, and sensitive person. I have known her for nine years, and as her friend, and in recent months her care, I will miss her greatly.”

So tragic.

Oh, this is so heartbreaking.

Former Victoria’s Secret model Emily DiDonato got super candid in a teary-eyed TikTok on Thursday. In it, she revealed that she suffered a devastating miscarriage “a few weeks ago” but is now finally “ready to share.”

The 33-year-old, who shares daughter Teddy, 2, and son Oliver, 1, with her husband, Kyle Peterson, discovered the sad news when she went in for her first scan about two months into the pregnancy. Since she’d had two easy pregnancies, she wasn’t worried about complications — until it was suddenly all she could think about.

Just three days before posting her video, she went in for the scan where her world came crumbling down. She explained:

“First of all, I felt so cocky and confident going into this appointment because I had two normal, healthy pregnancies prior to this. My doctor was doing the scan, I wasn’t even listening to her, I was literally just laying there looking at the scan and she said something and I was like, ‘What did you say?’ And she was like, ‘I’m not seeing what I want to see here.’ And I was like, ‘Well I’m pregnant, right?’ And she was like, ‘Well there definitely was a pregnancy but it stopped growing.'”

Oh, no.

Emily “immediately” started to “blame” herself, she said:

“Everyone can say it’s not your fault but your brain immediately goes to, ‘When did that happen? And why?'”

On the day she filmed the video, she was headed in for a dilation and curettage (D&C), in which a doctor removes tissue from the uterus. She shared:

“I’m in my office trying to distract myself because I am so deeply and profoundly sad.”

“Something that freaks me out about the whole thing is knowing that life started here and it also ended here, and I’m still carrying that life.”

Such a heartbreaking thought! The content creator went on:

“When you find out you’re pregnant, whether you like it or not, your entire body, mind, and spirit gets behind the fact that you’re pregnant. You start planning, you start plotting, everything changes the second you find out you’re pregnant. That’s the blessing and curse of becoming a mother, you just care so deeply. And then all of a sudden you’re just not anymore.”

Naturally, the grieving momma is now really nervous to try again for a third child — and now doesn’t even know if she really wants to despite always wanting three kids. She shared:

“What I didn’t anticipate is, like, because I’ve gone through this process now, I’m kind of like, ‘Will I ever want to get pregnant again?’ I feel terrified to want to try again, because, like, what if this happens again? Is this the new norm for me? I’ve always wanted a third baby, and I feel greedy even saying that. It’s just always been my dream to have three kids. But a part of me is like, ‘Maybe this is the universe saying, two is good for you.'”

Oof. She concluded:

“I’m filming this not to have people feel sorry for me. I have a wonderful life and I’m very blessed with two healthy children, but [I hope] this makes anyone feel less alone.”

Hopefully, opening up helps her feel less alone in the pain, too! There were so many women in the comments who discussed their similar losses and encouraged her to stay strong, too. Some wrote:

True Thompson started the first grade this week, and that major milestone made the 40-year-old reality star SUPER emotional! After taking True to her first day of school on Monday, Khloé took to Snapchat to get real about how much she is struggling with her 6-year-old being a first grader. She said:

“It’s always such a rollercoaster of emotions when True starts a new school year. This year is a big milestone for her… first grade. I’m not going to lie, I am having a really hard time processing the fact that she’s going into first grade.”

Of course, the momma is “so proud” of True. But at the same time, Khloé confessed there is “this strange mixture of loss, anxiety and fear” that comes with this next stage in her kid’s life:

“There’s this undeniable feeling that I’m losing parts of who she was with each day that passes. The little parts of who she used to be are being replaced with new parts that will make up the next little amazing person she will become. And I miss her. All the little versions of her who I used to know. Time moves fast, faster every year it feels like, and this new school year is a reminder to me to fully embrace every moment and soak it all in.”

Aww! Don’t worry, Khlo! You are definitely not alone in those feelings! So many parents can relate! Gushing about True, she concluded:

“She is more than I could ever have dreamed of in a daughter. Seeing her grow makes me excited for the years and experiences ahead.”
