In a lengthy Us Weekly cover story on Wednesday, sources opened up about how the Duchess of Sussex has found her new purpose after taking her Prince Charming and going home. Noting that she’s gone through many career changes in her past, a family friend told the outlet:

“You’re established in one world and then you enter another and your narrative is dictated by external forces.”

Not easy to navigate!

After leaving the royal family, Meghan and Prince Harry made a splash by doing several media projects and interviews, but it quickly became apparent none of it was panning out the way they had hoped. Their podcast, their Netflix deal, nothing was hitting.

In recent months, however, the Suits alum has clearly been preparing for her next shot. Not only is she teasing the launch of her lifestyle company American Rivera Orchards, but she’s also taking pointers from Hollywood powerhouses like Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow. She joined them and others at the house of broker Amy Griffin for a one-day business summit in July, an insider dished:

“Meghan was there to network. She was very kind and humble and eager to learn.”

Over the summer, she’s also gotten more involved with various charity organizations, like The Parents’ Network, a campaign to protect kids from online harm. She and her hubby also made a trip to Colombia. A second insider reflected:

“Meghan has transitioned from actress to royal to entrepreneur. She’s worn many hats, but she believes age and experience have [prepared her] for a bigger purpose in life. She’s very happy with the role she’s carved out.”

It was important for her to take the time to process everything and come up with a new plan of action after her initial media blitz post-royals, the family friend acknowledged:

“After Spare, [Harry and Meghan] realized, ‘OK, we’re ready to move on. We want to focus on our future. We can have meaning and importance separate from the lives we had previously.’”

They added:

“Meghan doesn’t harbor any negative feelings. She just wants peace, and knows you can’t find peace if you harbor resentments.”

She seemed to address this herself earlier this month in Colombia, saying:

“So much of how I approach things is less about the fight and more about how do we show up in the space and wash things over with love and kindness and generosity.”

Take her feud with Princess Catherine, for example. While she was happy to wish her well amid her cancer diagnosis, Meghan and Harry have not spoken out about other royal matters — and that’s on purpose. The family friend dished:

“Meghan’s team gets asked daily to comment on stuff that has nothing to do with their lives now. They have left it behind.”

She’s also left some of her own family members behind, like controversial father Thomas Markle, the first source said:

“Meghan still has no contact with her dad. She does not plan on having a relationship with him, and he has not met his grandkids. That ship has sailed.”

Instead, she leans on her pals and “has a great group of friends who are all successful in their own ways who she really trusts.” This includes Serena Williams and Ellen DeGeneres plus other local moms she meets up with regularly. The first insider added that she’s “very close” with neighbor and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd while a second insider said she’s befriended entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima, cofounder of IT Cosmetics.

Things are a bit more difficult for Harry. He “has a small [group] of close friends,” the second source shared, claiming he prefers to keep his inner circle small for “understandable reasons.” While that may be true, we have been hearing his UK friends don’t like his wife and that’s a big reason he’s become more lonely. Not to mention, most live in the UK, and he had to move to California — so that can’t be easy! Regardless, it sounds like he’ll always put his family first, the source went on:

“He’ll always be fond of his home country, but the way he views it, his wife and kids are his priority. If that means making sure they’re safe and happy in Montecito, then he supports that.”

The husband and wife are both very hands-on parents who want their kids Archie and Lilibet to have normal childhoods despite their fame, the family friend continued:

“They take the kids to school, they pick them up, and they are very active and present with them throughout the day.”

Referencing the Duke’s battle for security in the UK, the family friend insisted the children are going to stay out of the spotlight for their safety, noting:

“I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t. … [Prince] William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable. And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does.”

It sounds like the kids may not even understand their royal heritage yet, as the friend pointed out, “they’ll have those conversations in due time.” Right now, Meg and Harry want the little ones to feel loved for who they are:

“They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is vibrant and happy.”

The second source added that the parents are happy just being parents right now. Thankfully they apparently have plenty of time despite working on their Archewell Foundation campaigns and launching their business ventures. But as the kids get older, anything is possible:

“Afterwards who’s to say? But I think the focus is very much on raising their two children.”

And staying on the same page really helps. Meghan and Harry have been leaning on each other for support this whole time, the friend shared:

“They’re so in sync. Throughout their relationship, they’ve stood together no matter what.”

The second insider revealed that they enjoy downtime together and try to keep a positive mindset and are motivated to do their best work always, saying:

“It’s rooted in the bonds they share together.”

As for their new life in California, they do a lot of low-key activities like gardening, hiking, and cooking. The second insider described it as “a California lifestyle.” What, they don’t garden in Merry Old England??

While it was no doubt difficult to walk away from the royal family, they do have a big bonus now. They can work on “projects they are passionate about as opposed to being given projects to do,” making the work “more personal,” the second insider dished. Good point!

Along with The Parents’ Network, Meghan is working on her new initiative, the Welcome Project, which helps empower female refugees from Afghanistan. A third source who has worked with the former actress told the outlet:

“Female advocacy remains a centerpiece of her philanthropic intent.”

She’s also looking forward to launching her lifestyle brand sometime early next year, around the time her new Netflix series is supposed to premiere. The second source expressed:

“[ARO] will likely be very much in line with who Meghan is as a person. She loves hosting events, and she’s very thoughtful about how she treats her guests whenever they come over.”

The third insider said her series “is going to be a take on her and the joy of living,” including “little things she’s learned in terms of being a modern-day hostess.” It’s been rumored Harry may make an appearance. For now, the sources just promised there would be many familiar faces joining in.

So, Meghan has a lot on her plate coming up — but she’s NOT planning to run for office, return to acting, or write a memoir despite rampant rumors, the third confidant maintained. She’s just being Meghan:

“Meghan’s in the middle of her story right now.”

Maybe one day! Right now, a big passion of the 43-year-old’s is simply to give back, the family friend added:

“She knows her life would be extraordinarily different if she did not marry who she married. There is privilege and so much room to do good. She wants to meet the moment and make good on her good fortune.”

The friend noted that it was hard for her to “be herself” in the royal household which is why this change of pace is so refreshing, they shared:

“Most people are not really allowed to be themselves — if you’ve watched The Crown, I think that’s pretty understood.”

That’s why she’s so excited about this moment:

“There’s air and space and room. She can just be who she is.”

It’s certainly an exciting time with so much still to come from Meg! We just hope her business ventures and media projects are more successful this time around! Otherwise, she’s gonna have to come up with a whole new plan!

The Scream star opened up about the dark side of artificial intelligence during a conversation on The New York Times’ podcast The Interview over the weekend. While firmly stating, “I hate AI,” she first acknowledged that there can be positives to the technology… but that just hasn’t been her experience:

“I mean, here’s the thing: AI could be used for incredible things. I think I saw something the other day where they were saying that artificial intelligence was able to detect breast cancer four years before it progressed. That’s beautiful. Let’s keep it to that.”

For her, though, she was bombarded with horrifying content of herself after making an X (Twitter) account at just 14 years old:

“Did I like being 14 and making a Twitter account because I was supposed to and seeing dirty edited content of me as a child? No. It’s terrifying. It’s corrupt. It’s wrong.”

That’s absolutely HORRIBLE. How is AI not regulated?! She was a CHILD!

The 21-year-old added that in addition to the “dirty edited content,” she also was sent her first “unsolicited photo of a man’s genitals” at just 12 years old —  which was “just the beginning of what was to come.”

WTF! Poor girl! And after Wednesday debuted on Netflix in 2022, Jenna opted to just fully do away with her X account because the influx of NSFW content only ever increased:

“I used to have that Twitter account and I was told that, ‘Oh, you got to do it, you got to build your image. I ended up deleting it about two, three years ago because the influx after [Wednesday] had come out — these absurd images and photos, and I already was in a confused state that I just deleted it.”

She added:

“It was disgusting, and it made me feel bad. It made me feel uncomfortable. Anyway, that’s why I deleted it, because I couldn’t say anything without seeing something like that. So one day I just woke up, and I thought, ‘Oh, I don’t need this anymore.’ So I dropped it.”

Poor Jenna! We’re glad she’s found some peace, but she shouldn’t have to remove herself from social media to do so!

According to a friend of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex via People on Thursday, as the Spare author fights for more security for his family in the UK, he has made a point to shield his children from the public eye so that they will stay safe. The insider detailed:

“Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm.”

Jeez. Such a harrowing thing to worry about.

Plenty of celebrities prefer to keep their children’s faces as private as they can until the kids are old enough to decide if they want to be in the public eye or not — but the fact Harry and Meghan are doing it primarily to avoid any kidnappings or other violence is just gut-wrenching. It shows how much fear they are in and why the 39-year-old is fighting so hard to regain police protection for them in his home country, something he lost access to when stepping back as a working royal.

As anglophiles likely know, we’ve hardly gotten any official images of the kids (now 5 and 3), especially as they’ve gotten older. While they did appear in the couple’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, the sightings were minimal and often didn’t include a good look at their faces. Elaborating on the Invictus Games founder’s thought process when it comes to his offspring and the media, the couple’s friend added:

“As a dad and husband, Harry is determined to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself.”

Several other insiders told the outlet that Harry is feuding with his father King Charles III because he believes the monarch has the power to help get his security reinstated. Buckingham Palace doesn’t comment on security, but a palace confidant insisted that it is “wholly incorrect” to think His Majesty has any involvement. Sadly, though, this conflict has only made the pair’s feud worse.

Meanwhile, while the Suits alum “supports Harry 100 percent” amid his ongoing legal battles, she’s ready for him to drop the lawsuits, “be happy and live in the moment.” A former Archewell Foundation staffer dished:

“She wants him to be free of all of this, but she also knows that because of everything he’s been through and his love for [her and their children], he can’t. She wants him to live in a world where he is not burdened by this.”

From everything we’ve heard, it sounds like he may have legitimate reasons to be worried about his family’s safety — and it’s admirable how much he’ll do for his loved ones — but we hope it’s not consuming him too much! As we’ve been reporting, the Duchess of Sussex has finished filming her new lifestyle show for Netflix. She wrapped that up a few weeks back and got it “in the can,” as television producers are fond of saying. But at the time, nobody was quite certain when that as-yet-untitled show would air! Even though it was done, it was still very much TBD.

Well, that’s changed now! …Kind of! On Monday night, industry sources told Page Six that the show will see the light of day on the streaming giant early next year. No specific date has been set yet, but even just having a plan to put it up for viewers in six(ish) months is a big step forward. It’s on its way!

A source who spoke to that outlet about the project needed only one word to describe its vibe: “gorgeous.” Well, at least they’re not overselling it. LOLz!! JK! Those insiders also confirmed what we had long ago inferred — that this project is Meghan’s push into producing home and lifestyle content for women similar to what legends like Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey have done in their careers.

Now, you may be asking why the show is still six or so months away from being released if it’s already been filmed. A fair question! Sources confirmed to Page Six that it’s not because of any delay on Meghan’s side. Instead, it takes months for Netflix to not only edit their shows, but also to sync up languages and subtitles for non-English speaking viewers in other countries around the world. It’s a complicated process!

And you may also be asking about Prince Harry! Well, those same insiders wouldn’t say too much about whether he’ll have an actual role in Meghan’s show. For now, rumors merely suggest the 39-year-old royal might make a few cameos in the series, but it’s not certain whether he’ll be around for anything more.

There is a MAJOR question that has still not been left answered, tho: what about American Riviera Orchard? That, of course, is Meghan’s lifestyle company. You remember — the brand under which she sent out all that strawberry jam to a bunch of celebrities back in April, only for her royal competitors to swoop in and pick up sales because Meghan’s product wasn’t available to the general public yet. Oops!!

That marketing move was confusing a few months back with no products to actually sell as a follow-up. Fred Armisen and Riki Lindhome have known each other for 15 years. But when they both flew to Romania to start filming the spooky YA mystery series, something changed. Fred was putting his SNL and Portlandia sketch skills to use becoming nearly unrecognizable as Uncle Fester, while Riki — best known for being half of the musical comedy duo Garfunkel & Oates — was set to play Wednesday’s therapist Dr. Valerie Kinbott.

But little did they know it was under these bizarre circumstances that suddenly romance would bloom! Riki told People this week:

“We were friends for so long that it just happened fast. We had one dinner and then it was like, ‘Oh, yeah, let’s see where this goes.’ It was surprising. I would say it was more of a shock to him. He did not see it coming at all.”

The only wrinkle? Riki had decided to have a kid on her own! She was close to the end of a long process of having a child through surrogate, intending to be a single mom.

This kind of messed up those plans! She recalled:

“I could tell I was having feelings, but then I was like, ‘Well, I can’t say anything because I’m about to have a baby.”

“I knew that I was starting to have feelings for him, and I wanted to go on a date. That’s what I knew. So I was like, ‘Okay, let’s explore.’ Then it unfolded naturally over time. I wasn’t like, ‘You’re the dad.’ I was like, ‘I want to have dinner with you.’ My thought was, ‘I want to kiss you. I want to see you.’ Then it just kept going.”

Then on March 1, 2022, Riki welcomed her son Keaton — and it was crunch time for Fred, who has been twice married, to UK musician Sally Timms and actress Elisabeth Moss. Riki laid it down:

“He didn’t get to meet Keaton until three weeks after he was born because he was still working. And I said, ‘All I want is the truth. If you feel in your gut that’s not for you, it doesn’t make you a jerk. I’m not mad at you.’ I said, ‘I still think you’re the best. I just want you to really feel what you feel. And then be honest about it because it’s a big life-altering thing.’ … I told him, ‘So you just tell me what your heart says, and he said ‘Yes.’ It was just insta-family, basically.”

Such a cute and modern love story! And just over two years ago, on June 1, they got married. Hilariously, Riki says they didn’t actually try to hide their marriage — they just didn’t announce, and it went under the radar!

“Then we got married in a courthouse. It’s not a secret, but we didn’t really tell people. We didn’t announce it or anything. And we thought people would hear about it eventually. And that’s what happened, one friend at a time.”

Huh! We wonder how long everyone on the show has known! If Wednesday Season 2 sees Uncle Fester in an unexpected romance, we guess we’ll have our answer! LOLz!

If you haven’t been following this smelly scandal, for weeks now, rumors have been swirling about a guest having explosive diarrhea at Gwyneth Paltrow‘s home — and then bailing without saying anything! DailyMail.com eventually revealed that the mystery man was writer Derek Blasberg. He allegedly claimed it was an Ozempic-related accident, but sources later claimed he’s not even on the weight loss drug and was just trying to make up an excuse.

Well, the whole thing quickly got around to all of Gwyn’s other friends and new details are finally emerging!

On Thursday’s Deux U podcast, the gossip blogger claimed sources told her the incident happened in an Airbnb the Goop founder owns in Montecito — and not in the Hamptons as had initially been believed. Nobody knows exactly what happened, but Derek apparently made a downright mess in his room with s**t literally going EVERYWHERE! The blogger alleged:

“What I heard was that it was all over the walls and the ceiling.”

WTF! How does that even happen?!?

The dude was clearly embarrassed AF over the damage was done, so he reportedly dropped a couple hundred to try to privately clean up the problem all behind his pal’s back. Deux heard from one source:

“Allegedly, he either paid the housekeeper to keep her mouth shut or just like left a couple hundred dollars on the nightstand, ran out, and expected the housekeeper to clean it up. It got back to Gwyneth. Gwyneth was pissed, obviously.”

While the Glee alum “was willing to forgive him,” YouTube‘s Head of Fashion & Beauty yet again (allegedly) betrayed her — causing Gwyn to spread the story the all her A-lister friends, such as her Hampton-based buddies like Oprah Winfrey! The Shakespeare in Love star was “pissed and she was telling everybody.” Someone even claimed “she told the story at a dinner party.”

The podcast said there were “two versions of why [Gwyneth] winded up allegedly spreading the story.” The first rumor is that Derek supposedly crossed a line with her 20-year-old daughter:

“She was ready to forgive him and not spread [the story], but apparently, Apple had went to either, like, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, and she had, I guess, maybe asked or hoped Derek would sort of look over her, and like, kind of be like a big brother. And he winded up plastering her all over his socials. Of course, cause that’s what he does. He’s a professional best friend of celebrities. And I think that rubbed Gwyneth the wrong way.”

Oof!

Another source said all this went down before The Met Gala in May — and it was Derek’s actions after the violent diarrhea that irritated the Iron Man alum, and not just because he destroyed her house! It’s because he reportedly tried to blame HER for it! What?!

Here’s the deal. After getting out of dodge following his “catastrophic poop,” Derek came back to hang the next day — because he wanted to schmooze with Hollywood bigwig Netflix President Ted Sarandos, who he was “all smiles with” and caught “sucking up” to. They all had lunch at Gwyneth’s home or met up somewhere. When the actress finally decided to pull her friend aside and confront him about his bathroom problems, she got put on blast. A source told the podcast:

“But what most upset her was when Gwyneth brought the incident up with Derek, instead of apologizing to her, he turned it around as being HER fault!
