In a lengthy Us Weekly cover story on Wednesday, sources opened up about how the Duchess of Sussex has found her new purpose after taking her Prince Charming and going home. Noting that she’s gone through many career changes in her past, a family friend told the outlet:

“You’re established in one world and then you enter another and your narrative is dictated by external forces.”

Not easy to navigate!

After leaving the royal family, Meghan and Prince Harry made a splash by doing several media projects and interviews, but it quickly became apparent none of it was panning out the way they had hoped. Their podcast, their Netflix deal, nothing was hitting.

In recent months, however, the Suits alum has clearly been preparing for her next shot. Not only is she teasing the launch of her lifestyle company American Rivera Orchards, but she’s also taking pointers from Hollywood powerhouses like Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow. She joined them and others at the house of broker Amy Griffin for a one-day business summit in July, an insider dished:

“Meghan was there to network. She was very kind and humble and eager to learn.”

Over the summer, she’s also gotten more involved with various charity organizations, like The Parents’ Network, a campaign to protect kids from online harm. She and her hubby also made a trip to Colombia. A second insider reflected:

“Meghan has transitioned from actress to royal to entrepreneur. She’s worn many hats, but she believes age and experience have [prepared her] for a bigger purpose in life. She’s very happy with the role she’s carved out.”

It was important for her to take the time to process everything and come up with a new plan of action after her initial media blitz post-royals, the family friend acknowledged:

“After Spare, [Harry and Meghan] realized, ‘OK, we’re ready to move on. We want to focus on our future. We can have meaning and importance separate from the lives we had previously.’”

They added:

“Meghan doesn’t harbor any negative feelings. She just wants peace, and knows you can’t find peace if you harbor resentments.”

She seemed to address this herself earlier this month in Colombia, saying:

“So much of how I approach things is less about the fight and more about how do we show up in the space and wash things over with love and kindness and generosity.”

Take her feud with Princess Catherine, for example. While she was happy to wish her well amid her cancer diagnosis, Meghan and Harry have not spoken out about other royal matters — and that’s on purpose. The family friend dished:

“Meghan’s team gets asked daily to comment on stuff that has nothing to do with their lives now. They have left it behind.”

She’s also left some of her own family members behind, like controversial father Thomas Markle, the first source said:

“Meghan still has no contact with her dad. She does not plan on having a relationship with him, and he has not met his grandkids. That ship has sailed.”

Instead, she leans on her pals and “has a great group of friends who are all successful in their own ways who she really trusts.” This includes Serena Williams and Ellen DeGeneres plus other local moms she meets up with regularly. The first insider added that she’s “very close” with neighbor and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd while a second insider said she’s befriended entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima, cofounder of IT Cosmetics.

Things are a bit more difficult for Harry. He “has a small [group] of close friends,” the second source shared, claiming he prefers to keep his inner circle small for “understandable reasons.” While that may be true, we have been hearing his UK friends don’t like his wife and that’s a big reason he’s become more lonely. Not to mention, most live in the UK, and he had to move to California — so that can’t be easy! Regardless, it sounds like he’ll always put his family first, the source went on:

“He’ll always be fond of his home country, but the way he views it, his wife and kids are his priority. If that means making sure they’re safe and happy in Montecito, then he supports that.”

The husband and wife are both very hands-on parents who want their kids Archie and Lilibet to have normal childhoods despite their fame, the family friend continued:

“They take the kids to school, they pick them up, and they are very active and present with them throughout the day.”

Referencing the Duke’s battle for security in the UK, the family friend insisted the children are going to stay out of the spotlight for their safety, noting:

“I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t. … [Prince] William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable. And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does.”

It sounds like the kids may not even understand their royal heritage yet, as the friend pointed out, “they’ll have those conversations in due time.” Right now, Meg and Harry want the little ones to feel loved for who they are:

“They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is vibrant and happy.”

The second source added that the parents are happy just being parents right now. Thankfully they apparently have plenty of time despite working on their Archewell Foundation campaigns and launching their business ventures. But as the kids get older, anything is possible:

“Afterwards who’s to say? But I think the focus is very much on raising their two children.”

And staying on the same page really helps. Meghan and Harry have been leaning on each other for support this whole time, the friend shared:

“They’re so in sync. Throughout their relationship, they’ve stood together no matter what.”

The second insider revealed that they enjoy downtime together and try to keep a positive mindset and are motivated to do their best work always, saying:

“It’s rooted in the bonds they share together.”

As for their new life in California, they do a lot of low-key activities like gardening, hiking, and cooking. The second insider described it as “a California lifestyle.” What, they don’t garden in Merry Old England??

While it was no doubt difficult to walk away from the royal family, they do have a big bonus now. They can work on “projects they are passionate about as opposed to being given projects to do,” making the work “more personal,” the second insider dished. Good point!

Along with The Parents’ Network, Meghan is working on her new initiative, the Welcome Project, which helps empower female refugees from Afghanistan. A third source who has worked with the former actress told the outlet:

“Female advocacy remains a centerpiece of her philanthropic intent.”

She’s also looking forward to launching her lifestyle brand sometime early next year, around the time her new Netflix series is supposed to premiere. The second source expressed:

“[ARO] will likely be very much in line with who Meghan is as a person. She loves hosting events, and she’s very thoughtful about how she treats her guests whenever they come over.”

The third insider said her series “is going to be a take on her and the joy of living,” including “little things she’s learned in terms of being a modern-day hostess.” It’s been rumored Harry may make an appearance. For now, the sources just promised there would be many familiar faces joining in.

So, Meghan has a lot on her plate coming up — but she’s NOT planning to run for office, return to acting, or write a memoir despite rampant rumors, the third confidant maintained. She’s just being Meghan:

“Meghan’s in the middle of her story right now.”

Maybe one day! Right now, a big passion of the 43-year-old’s is simply to give back, the family friend added:

“She knows her life would be extraordinarily different if she did not marry who she married. There is privilege and so much room to do good. She wants to meet the moment and make good on her good fortune.”

The friend noted that it was hard for her to “be herself” in the royal household which is why this change of pace is so refreshing, they shared:

“Most people are not really allowed to be themselves — if you’ve watched The Crown, I think that’s pretty understood.”

That’s why she’s so excited about this moment:

“There’s air and space and room. She can just be who she is.”

It’s certainly an exciting time with so much still to come from Meg! We just hope her business ventures and media projects are more successful this time around! Otherwise, she’s gonna have to come up with a whole new plan!

According to a friend of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex via People on Thursday, as the Spare author fights for more security for his family in the UK, he has made a point to shield his children from the public eye so that they will stay safe. The insider detailed:

“Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm.”

Jeez. Such a harrowing thing to worry about.

Plenty of celebrities prefer to keep their children’s faces as private as they can until the kids are old enough to decide if they want to be in the public eye or not — but the fact Harry and Meghan are doing it primarily to avoid any kidnappings or other violence is just gut-wrenching. It shows how much fear they are in and why the 39-year-old is fighting so hard to regain police protection for them in his home country, something he lost access to when stepping back as a working royal.

As anglophiles likely know, we’ve hardly gotten any official images of the kids (now 5 and 3), especially as they’ve gotten older. While they did appear in the couple’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, the sightings were minimal and often didn’t include a good look at their faces. Elaborating on the Invictus Games founder’s thought process when it comes to his offspring and the media, the couple’s friend added:

“As a dad and husband, Harry is determined to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself.”

Several other insiders told the outlet that Harry is feuding with his father King Charles III because he believes the monarch has the power to help get his security reinstated. Buckingham Palace doesn’t comment on security, but a palace confidant insisted that it is “wholly incorrect” to think His Majesty has any involvement. Sadly, though, this conflict has only made the pair’s feud worse.

Meanwhile, while the Suits alum “supports Harry 100 percent” amid his ongoing legal battles, she’s ready for him to drop the lawsuits, “be happy and live in the moment.” A former Archewell Foundation staffer dished:

“She wants him to be free of all of this, but she also knows that because of everything he’s been through and his love for [her and their children], he can’t. She wants him to live in a world where he is not burdened by this.”

From everything we’ve heard, it sounds like he may have legitimate reasons to be worried about his family’s safety — and it’s admirable how much he’ll do for his loved ones — but we hope it’s not consuming him too much! As Perezcious readers know, the royal family has been battling it out for years ever since Harry and Meghan Markle walked away from their working roles in 2020. In a new ITV documentary, Harry claimed a “central piece” of the “rift” was caused by his fight against the tabloids — and it turns out his fight for safety is also a big issue.

According to People sources on Wednesday, the 39-year-old was hoping to sit down with his father in May, when he was in town for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games (a ceremony his entire fam snubbed). Charles avoided getting together with his youngest son, claiming he was too busy. As it turns out, Harry reportedly wanted to discuss his ongoing push for security in the country, which he believes the 75-year-old has the power to reinstate (though a palace source told the outlet that theory is “wholly incorrect.”) Either way, Charles is giving Harry the complete SILENT TREATMENT!

Ever since their last meeting in February, when the Spare author rushed to his home country to see Charles after his cancer diagnosis (a brief meeting the sources claimed was positive but many have said was a downright disaster), Charles has stopped communicating with Prince Haz. A friend of the Archewell founders said His Majesty has ignored Harry’s calls and letters, saying:

“He gets ‘unavailable right now.’ His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

Jeez.

His father is battling cancer and nobody will tell Harry how he’s doing? They probably don’t have any trust in him, worried he might spill the tea to the public… but damn. That seems really heartless! This man’s already lost one parent, the least they could do is keep him informed. So sad.

While Harry is obviously frustrated over this lack of communication, his attention remains on making sure his family is safe. With legitimate risks to his wife and their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet‘s safety, he’s repeatedly asked for his father’s help, a royal insider noted:

“Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father.”

Another source chimed in:

“Harry is determined to protect his own family at all costs.”

As Perezcious readers know, in the doc Tabloids on Trial, the activist minced no words when describing his fear for his loved ones, noting all it would take is “one lone actor” to do something rash and put his family and team in danger. Despite his “genuine concerns,” the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) has been unwilling to grant him taxpayer-funded police protection while in the country. They won’t even let him pay for it himself.

But given Charles’ high status, Harry feels like his dad could intervene and help get his security granted. But rather than try to help, his friend said this debate has made Charles shift from being frustrated to reverting to “complete silence.” Insiders close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex believe Charles may be worried about once again getting overshadowed by another ex-royal, as he was when Princess Diana left royal life, they explained:

“Charles’ fear is a repeat of the past. When his wife divorced the institution, she took the headlines, overshadowed his work and became a global superstar. Seeing his son leave with his wife was not part of the plan.”

But as Harry has argued in the past, it was never his desire to leave altogether. He was given no choice. And regardless, isn’t Charles’ silent treatment just prolonging this rift and creating more headlines that overshadow his work as monarch?? Just saying…

According to sources, safety’s always been a major reason why the Sussexes ultimately walked away from the royal family (that and to protect the Suits alum’s mental health). Their friend said they “didn’t feel they had a choice,” elaborating:

“The only option was to leave — for their sanity. I do think they thought if they got out of this bubble, there would be less focus on them.”

But here’s what’s really shady! After meeting with family members at Sandringham Summit in January 2020 to discuss his life as a non-working royal, Harry left the meeting with the reassurance that he’d have security as they made the transition. In fact, court documents proved Queen Elizabeth II called it “imperative” for the Sussexes to have “effective security” after their exit. And yet, just weeks later, Harry was stripped of his police protection! The royal insider shared:

“The Queen made it clear that effective security was necessary due to the threats against them, but somewhere along the line there was interference.”

The decision was ultimately made by RAVEC (whose discussion on security could impact how the Sussexes are dealt with internationally, as other countries would likely follow their example). The group includes members of the Royal Household, such as the King’s staff but not Charles himself. A government spokesperson told the outlet that they provide “rigorous and proportionate” security and do not disclose details “as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security.”

But Harry, sadly, thinks the only reason he hasn’t been given his security back is because of his father, despite denials from the palace. His team noted that his family’s annual threat assessment hasn’t been updated by the government since 2019 — despite them being in some of the most danger!

Neil Basu, a former head of counterterrorism for the Metropolitan Police, has claimed that the actress has faced serious threats while in the UK, calling Harry and Meghan among the highest threat assessments within the royal family. Per the outlet, several people have even been arrested and imprisoned for making threats against the couple! So, Harry’s not making this up! Basu added:

“Harry’s military service, his global recognition and his marriage to a mixed-race woman all contribute to his high threat level.”

Plus, just ’cause he walked away from a job doesn’t mean he’s walked away from any of the risk he was born into (he’s still fifth in line to the throne, after all), a source pointed out:

“Working royal or not, this is the King’s son.”

So true!

The main reason the couple decided to settle down in California was so they could have private armed security, people in their close circle noted. They added that the couple gets daily social media threats and potential home intrusions, and have faced harrowing incidents like the 2023 NYC paparazzi chase.

Even Joe Funk, senior vice president of Torchstone Global Security — who oversees their private security in the US — called out the UK for being aware of the danger and doing little about it, adding:

“The U.K. government acknowledges numerous threats against them, but we are not privy to specific details due to lack of cooperation.”

As is the case with any influential individual, the security risk extends far beyond just Harry and Meg or their children — their team is also potentially in harm’s way, which makes the lack of security nerve-wracking for them all. A former employee of the Archewell Foundation shared:

“The staff is concerned when they travel with them.”

We get why they’d be worried. Harry feels the threat risk is SO high in the UK that he will no longer allow his wife and children to visit with him. That says a lot!

You’d think that all of this would bother the royal family, but they are not letting up their anger when it comes to the Sussexes speaking out about The Firm — something they’ve only done to maintain a steady stream of income to pay for all their security needs after getting cut off. While some sources argued that Harry’s book and interviews have compromised the family’s trust in him, others are hitting back, insisting he never would have spoken out if he had proper security. And if the issue is resolved, his friend claimed, “it’s ‘swords down.’”

So, as we pointed out, Charles — and Prince William, who seems to be siding with the patriarch — giving Harry the silent treatment just seems to be making this all worse! While it may be hard for the family to trust anything Harry says at this point, his pal urged that nothing “would give [Harry] more happiness than being able to rekindle his bond with his father.” The friend ultimately concluded:

“You can’t undo bloodlines. He’s not asking his dad for a nicer house or nicer cars. He’s asking because of the reality of the situation. He is at risk.”

All of this is terrible on its own, but when you put this into the context of Charles’ health crisis, it’s even more heartbreaking. We’d hate to see them leave off on such a bad note when some simple communication could go a long way…

Us Weekly sources told the outlet on Wednesday that the monarch is eager to make up with his son Prince Harry — but he’s been unable to make amends due to how badly his youngest child hurt his other son Prince Willam and, especially, his own wife Queen Camilla.

As Perezcious readers will recall, the Duke of Sussex really lit into the whole family in his Netflix docuseries and memoir Spare — going so far as to call Camilla an “evil” stepmother! She’s since been doing everything she can to keep the Archewell founder away from her husband as he focuses his attention on his cancer battle, an insider dished:

“Camilla dislikes Harry and doesn’t want Charles to get stressed while he’s undergoing treatment, so she tries to limit interaction.”

Like his brief half-hour meeting with his father immediately after his cancer diagnosis was announced? We all know that was a s**t show, mostly because Camilla kicked Harry out after hardly getting any time with his pops!

While the 75-year-old is going along with what his partner wants, he “is holding out hope of salvaging their relationship but is hugely conflicted because Harry has hurt William and Camilla so much.” However, a source noted that this isn’t a one-sided problem, adding that “Harry has also been hurt.” Addressing the ways Camilla was most offended during the royal rift, a second insider explained:

“When the docuseries came out, Camilla was furious. Then, when Spare [was released], Camilla was saddened by what was said about her. She was heartbroken and confused.”

Royal author Christopher Andersen pointed out that Harry and William “have always resented Camilla,” elaborating:

“They pleaded with their father not to marry her and only grudgingly agreed to go along with the charade if Charles kept his promise not to make her queen. That title would have gone to [Princess] Diana if Camilla hadn’t broken up their parents’ marriage. When Charles broke that promise, William and Harry felt betrayed.”

Yet one brother was able to suck it up. The other, well, he’s seemingly trying to get over his anger (at least publicly), but he has a long way to go until Camilla will even consider forgiving him. And honestly, that’s, probably the least of Harry’s problems!

The father of two is also on the outs with William and Princess Catherine as she battles cancer. Harry and Meghan Markle tried wishing Kate Middleton well during her cancer treatment, but it’s gotten them nowhere in terms of reconciliation. The second insider said:

“After the couple’s press interviews, William and Kate couldn’t believe or understand how Harry and Meghan expect to make up with them.”

But even if the Princess of Wales wanted to respond, she can’t!

The insider explained:

“She can’t respond — it’s a monarchy rule not to.”

The first source then doubled down:

“There’s no way back for Harry and Wills. He’s angry with Harry after what he said about Kate.”

Oof.

For Harry and Charles’ sakes, it doesn’t help that the Prince of Wales has become the second most important person to the king — meaning that if the patriarch wants to reconcile with his youngest, he’s also going to need to make sure the heir to the throne is okay with it, too! The author insisted that “Camilla and William are the people he relies on most.” Reflecting on Charles’ decision to make Will the new colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps, he added:

“Even those close to Charles and Camilla felt it was very pointed that Charles did the military handover to Wills that Harry should have had.”

So, Charles is clearly taking sides! And the entire royal family did too when nobody showed up to Harry’s Invictus Games anniversary in May! But the first source is now claiming that the king was never invited, now arguing:

“Harry’s team says he invited Charles, but Charles’s team is adamant he hadn’t been invited.”

Hmm. At this point, we doubt he would’ve gone even if he were invited. Andersen explained that he “sees the fine hand of Camilla” at work behind the scenes of this freeze-out, acknowledging:

“She’s focused on her husband’s health, and injecting Harry into the equation will only cause more turmoil.”

But even he thinks it’s a little much, noting that Charles’ avoidance of his son “does seem a little callous … the late Queen Elizabeth said she wanted Harry to be considered part of the family, always.” During a health battle as scary as cancer, you’d think Charles would want to put everything aside and get back onto good terms with all his family members, too. But the damage is too severe…

Sadly, this ongoing rift will have a huge impact on the next generation — namely Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Speaking of that, a third source emphasized the close bond Charles has with his grandkids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but the same can’t be said for Harry’s kids! They reflected:

“It’s left a massive hole in his [Charles’] heart that he’s only spent a few fleeting days with them and then video calls on important days. […] He longs for the same relationship with his American grandkids.”

If His Majesty really cared about reconnecting, he could easily help the family with their security issues and lack of permanent housing in the UK, the source added:

“If the king wanted to see them so badly, he could make it easier to do so.”

Which could only mean one thing:

“Charles harbors a lot of anger towards Harry. He’s always been very protective of Camilla. It’s not easy for him to forgive people who have scorned her.”

Yeesh. Sounds like the end of this family feud — if we ever see that day — will be up to Camilla! She really seems like the secret mastermind behind this standoff! Sux! That’s only going to make it WAY harder for Harry and Meghan to weave their way back in, tho. Thoughts? Let us know (below)!

Tuesday marks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s daughter’s third birthday, but they spent this past weekend celebrating in advance. Per People, the parents threw the little girl an early birthday party over the weekend at their Montecito home. Guests included close friends and family as well as some of Lili’s pals. Fun! And yet all that said, this birthday again marks a clear divide in the royal family!

According to royal expert Tom Quinn who spoke to The Mirror, King Charles III was not invited to the party (though we highly doubt he would’ve come even if he was). That said, he did reportedly extend an olive branch to the family, the expert noted:

“King Charles had no intention of completely ignoring Lilibet’s birthday so he has sent a gift along with a message.”

But there’s a catch! Apparently, His Majesty had a more personal and much grander gift in mind, too — but he’s saving it until AFTER the family feud is over! Uhhh, let’s be honest, Lili could be a fully grown adult before that happens. LOLz! The author dished:

“He gave Prince George a beautiful hand-made wooden swing with George’s name carved on it and he has plans to give something similar to Lilibet but not this year. And not unless and until the family feud dies down.”

Lili’s never seeing that present… Oof!

Maybe he’s holding off on the heartfelt gift ’cause he’s worried it won’t make it to his grandchild? Last month, the outlet’s sources claimed the 75-year-old was “worried” his gifts wouldn’t make it to Prince Archie — especially after Harry dissed his swing idea! An insider shared:

“But King Charles and his team are desperately worried that whatever the king sends to his grandson may be misinterpreted by Harry and Meghan. Charles famously gave Prince George a beautiful hand-made swing engraved on the seat with George’s name, but Harry has told him repeatedly that this sort of present is too grand for Archie.”

Welp, seems like the controversy over that present hasn’t changed! As for the party, it sounds like Queen Elizabeth II‘s namesake was celebrated by many other famous folks, including neighbors Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who are believed to have attended! Quinn shared:

“Rather than go for a low-key celebration Harry and Meghan have spent the past weekend enjoying a pre-birthday bash for their daughter Lillibet’s third birthday — hugely expensive presents have been ruled out but the couple’s mansion in California was awash with celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy who is just a few months older than Lilibet.”

And, yeah, their royal relatives weren’t on the guest list:

“Shockingly no invitations to Lilibet’s party were issued to members of the Royal Family.”

At this point, that’s not shocking at all! The distance is a factor, but it’s obviously even more than that! Quinn elaborated:

“One of Harry’s old army friends said: ‘Harry knew they wouldn’t come anyway and he was pretty sure he would not have wanted them there. But he is really sad that Archie and Lilibet cannot have any kind of relationship with their cousins while his feud with his family continues.'”

It’s a bummer! But we hope the little girl still had a lovely birthday! Already 3 years old?! She’s growing up so fast!

As Perezcious readers know, the Duke of Sussex came straight from London, where he was celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. While his wife didn’t attend, she did briefly touch down in England for a layover, where she met up with her hubby in the airport’s Windsor Suite before traveling together to Nigeria, per royal reporters.

Right after landing, they headed to the school where they were greeted by local performers, students, and a flower-covered banner that read, “We Are Honored to Have You!” Harry was in a linen button-down and white pants while Meg wore a peach-colored maxi dress. They both also wore brown beaded necklaces they were gifted.

After meeting with lots of staff and students, they each gave their own speech about the importance of mental health. The Spare author asked, via People, “if I say mental health do you know what it means?” He went on:

“In some cases around the world, in more than you would believe, there is a stigma when it comes to mental health. Too many people don’t want to talk about it because it’s invisible. It’s something in our mind that we can’t see. It’s not like a broken leg, it’s not like a broken wrist.”

Harry continued:

“It’s something that we are still relatively unsure of. But guess what? Every single person in this room, the youngest, the oldest, every single person has mental health. So therefore, you have to look after yourself to be able to look after other people. And other people have to be able to look after themselves, to look after you. That’s the way it works. And there is no shame to be able to acknowledge that today is a bad day, okay?”

When the Suits alum took the mic, she gushed:

“You see why I’m married to him? It’s so inspiring because he speaks the truth.”

Elsewhere in her speech, she shared:

“Every single one of you has a story. We all have our story. And there’s no shame in any single one of your stories. Even on the hardest days or darkest days, everything is a pillar of your strength by each of you being there.”

The Duchess of Sussex — who recently discovered her Nigerian heritage — even made a sweet reference to their 2-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet, telling the audience:

“Your teachers see that in you. And we see that in you. Interestingly, so does our daughter, Lili; she’s much tinier than you guys, about to turn three. A few weeks ago, she looked at me and saw her reflection in my eyes. She said, ‘Mama, I see me in you.’ Now, she was talking literally, but I held onto those words in a different way. I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you. But as I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”

The Archetypes host furthered:

“It is a complete honor to have our first visit to Nigeria be here with all of you. We believe in you. We believe in your futures. We believe in your ability to continue to tell your stories and to just be honest with each other. … There is no need to suffer in silence. Just make sure that you are taking care of yourselves and that begins with your mental health by really talking about whatever’s coming up for you.”

After wishing a happy birthday to James Holt, the director of the couple’s Archewell Foundation, the mother of two concluded:

“So just like that, we celebrate all the good stuff and we are with each other even in the moments that are sad.”

With Prince Harry‘s upcoming visit to London next week to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, he is making a big effort to get in the good graces of his family. According to one Us Weekly source on Wednesday, he’s actually “attempted” (as the outlet put it) to get in touch with his family to invite them to the Invictus Games. That could be huge — if the attempt was successful. The wording is very sus! LOLz!

While the Duke of Sussex and his estranged brother Prince William “haven’t had a real conversation in months,” Harry is hoping to extend an olive branch and it might work! A second source doubled down on this, suggesting that Harry’s visit home could be the first step in bringing an end to this feud, dishing:

“The brothers haven’t spoken [but] there is potential for that. [Harry] would be more than happy [to].”

But would William??

Shockingly, the first insider insisted both Harry AND William “are open” to seeing each other after years of tension. Whoa! Even Princess Catherine — who’s had a lot of beef with her brother-in-law in recent years after he targeted her in Spare — is “willing” to catch up with the 39-year-old during his travels, the first source added. Amid Kate Middleton‘s cancer battle, she is “done with all the bad blood,” the source noted while sharing that she and her hubby are ready to call a truce. Wow!

Anyone else’s jaws on the floor?? This is all sounding WAY too good to be true — but it only continues!

The confidant went on to share why everyone’s suddenly so ready to stop the feud, and it has more to do with their children than them. The insider said of Kate and William’s thought process:

“They want a relationship with Meghan and Harry, and they don’t want the acrimony to carry over to the next generation.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales want their three kids to have a real connection to their two cousins, so “they want to mend fences with them for the kids’ sake.” The Archewell co-founders are on the same page, the second source added:

“Obviously the duke and duchess want their kids to have a relationship with their cousins.”

With all the kids getting older, time is of the essence to help them create strong bonds before the family rift becomes too hard for them to ignore! That said, the Suits alum is not currently planning to head to England next week, so any immediate reunion, if it happens, would be without her. Maybe that’s OK, though? Harry can hash things out with his family first and then add her back into the equation??

Not unsurprisingly, a resolution to this family fight would be a great relief for King Charles III, who “very much hopes that his sons will finally heal their rift” because he is “eager to spend more time with his grandchildren,” per the first insider. A third confidant added:

“[Charles has] always wanted William and Harry to make amends.”

Showing up to Harry’s big anniversary event would be a good start — but that includes His Majesty, who has already hinted that he might be too busy. They can’t claim to want a truce and then not actually put in the work to make it happen, y’know?! It’s going to take a lot of effort on everyone’s part to heal these deep wounds! But starting sooner than later would be amazing, especially as Charles and Kate continue to battle cancer.

The Duke of Sussex has (once again) lost his fight for UK police protection for him and his family. On Monday, a judge rejected the 39-year-old’s request to appeal an earlier ruling that upheld the government’s decision to restrict his access to publicly funded security after stepping away from his role as a working royal.

As Perezcious readers know, in February, High Court judge Sir Peter Lane sided with the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC). He denied that Meghan Markle‘s husband had been “singled out” or treated “less favorably” (as his legal team argued) when RAVEC came to their original 2020 decision, in which they decided to grant Harry security on a case-by-case scenario rather than under any circumstance. This is a big issue for the Spare author since he claims he was “forced” to leave his home country amid “danger” for his family. His wife and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have hardly returned to England since.

According to ABC News, most plaintiffs in the UK don’t have an automatic right to file an appeal, which is why Harry had to seek permission from the original court. But just ’cause he wasn’t victorious doesn’t mean the battle is over. The High Court said he can still make a request to the Court of Appeals. So, he’s got one more chance!

Furthermore, a judicial spokesperson also told the Mirror that Sir Peter declared Harry should foot most of the bill for the Home Office! In his latest ruling, the judge ordered the father of two to pay 90% of the Home Office’s legal fees — and this is actually a discounted percentage! The legal professional noted that the department had committed “breaches” during the court battle, which were “sanctionable” (but only for an extremely minor cost reduction). Harry had been asking to reduce the costs by at least 50%, so this is another blow for him! The judge opened up about this decision in the ruling:

“There is no merit in this ‘partial success’ submission … The fact that the court did not accept each and every submission of the defendant as to the path to take towards dismissal of the claim does not alter the fact that the claimant comprehensively lost.”

He added:

“They have resulted in the case being largely contested by reference to new grounds, which have not been subjected to the normal permission process. The breaches resulted from misapprehensions on the part of the defendant as to the duty of disclosure, which this decision has had to address at some length. It is therefore right that there should be a modest but still significant reduction in the award of costs to the defendant.”

His Majesty doesn’t want to have any regrets as he continues his cancer treatment — which might mean he’s ready to bury the hatchet and work towards reconciliation with his youngest son and daughter-in-law. According to Page Six sources on Tuesday, the 75-year-old may extend an olive branch to the Sussexes and invite them to visit Balmoral Castle over the summer with their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Shockingly, he’s only met the 4-year-old a handful of times. And he’s seen the 2-year-old in person just ONCE!! So, amid his fallout with Harry and Meghan, it would be a BIG deal to reunite and see his grandkids!

A well-placed society source did the speculating, telling the outlet:

“I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children, and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry. He may decide that life is just too short. Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion. If he does issue an invite, then Harry and Meghan should surely agree to the visit.”

The Duke of Sussex has made an effort to support his father during his health battle, including making the trek to the UK after the diagnosis was announced for a brief meeting earlier this year. While Charles was said to be “unhappy” with the visit (which also outraged Queen Camilla), it proved the Spare author was determined to get back into his family’s good graces.

But the Suits alum has not been back to her husband’s homeland since Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral in September 2022. Not even to see her father-in-law’s coronation! The children, similarly, haven’t been to London since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.

That said, it’s not just the King who is said to be eager for a reunion with the littles. Prince William and Princess Catherine, the latter of whom is currently undergoing cancer treatment, also reportedly extended an offer for their relatives to visit with the children. SUPER shocking! But the Mirror’s insiders claimed Meg had already put the big kibosh on the whole thing. So, don’t hold your breath on that reunion just yet.

As for Charles and the Sussexes, Buckingham Palace has not announced a formal invitation yet. And family sources aren’t aware of any such offer at this point. So, all this is just a rumor for now! According to a new royal insider, Prince William and Princess Catherine have put feelers out to reunite with their estranged relatives! Royal author Tom Quinn told the Mirror that the Prince and Princess of Wales have extended an invitation for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to visit with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, whenever it’s convenient for them! WHAT???

Apparently, Kate Middleton was really into the idea of seeing her niece and nephew amid her cancer treatment. But supposedly, her sister-in-law hasn’t been very fond of the idea! The writer dished on Tuesday:

“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”

Whoa!!

Before we get too excited, we can’t help but notice that there are a few red flags with this report and all its new info. For starters, for months now, sources have been claiming Harry was the one making reconciliation attempts that have been going nowhere. So, it’s hard to believe that all of a sudden William has changed his tune when nothing from recent reports has suggested such a shift!

Also, the insider made a big point to blame this on the Suits alum. That’s something we’ve seen time and time again from the Palace! This could just be their way of trying to get some heat off the future Queen. And, if so, they’re once again using their most famous scapegoat to do so. So, take it all with a grain of salt. Maybe a BIG grain of salt. LOLz!

But if the rumors are actually true, well, that would be HUGE news! The families haven’t been all together in years! Archie and Lilibet have hardly even come back to the UK since their parents stopped being working royals amid safety concerns (which haven’t gotten any better despite the Spare author’s asks for more safety oversight, by the way). It would be a really big deal if it all goes down. And supposedly, it could happen soon!

BTW, Harry is next set to travel to the area in May for an Invictus Games event. There’s been no word yet on if he plans to bring the whole fam, but maybe this will be the perfect chance??
