Kaia Gerber just posted the ultimate diss at an ex on her Instagram! On Tuesday, the model posted a photo of herself rocking a skinny black bikini while sunbathing on a dock. Normally, that kind of thirst trap alone would be enough to send a signal — but she added way more oomph! In the photo, she was holding a book titled DEAR D**KHEAD — and in the caption she wrote that it was “a book for someone i used to know.” DAMN! But that’s not all! In a second photo, she highlighted a passage from the book, which read:

“At this point, your sheer dumbf**kery commands a certain respect. But it doesn’t change the basics: I don’t give a s**t about you. All my love to your sister, she was a wonderful friend.”

Damn!!!

BTW, the book is a French novel by Virginie Despentes about a “B-list novelist” who insults an actress online and they “strike up a combative correspondence.” And get this! The guy gets “accused of sexual harassment by his former publicist.” The book touches deeply on the patriarchy and addiction, per Macmillan Publishers. It’s the September pick for Kaia and Alyssa Reeder‘s Library Science book club, too, which was also announced on the day this was posted.

But adding in a subtweet of “someone” she used to know is… another level! Obviously with the sexual politics the book is playing in, we have to think she’s blasting a guy she dated.

In recent years, Kaia’s been linked to Jacob Elordi and, briefly, Pete Davidson. She’s currently dating Austin Butler — at least, if they’re still good. Who is this book message for? Well, they all have sisters, so that won’t help narrow down the mystery man! Who do Y’ALL think she could be calling out?? Is she referencing a former beau — or did the Elvis star just do something to piss her off?!

They’ve been linked since 2021 and were last spotted holding hands while out and about in NYC almost two weeks ago. So far as we know, everything’s been going well in the romance… but maybe s**t just hit the fan and she’s subtly hinting at it?? We hope not!! Also with the “used to know” thing we’re thinking ancient history. Then again… it is a pretty fresh-feeling attack!

In a lengthy Us Weekly cover story on Wednesday, sources opened up about how the Duchess of Sussex has found her new purpose after taking her Prince Charming and going home. Noting that she’s gone through many career changes in her past, a family friend told the outlet:

“You’re established in one world and then you enter another and your narrative is dictated by external forces.”

Not easy to navigate!

After leaving the royal family, Meghan and Prince Harry made a splash by doing several media projects and interviews, but it quickly became apparent none of it was panning out the way they had hoped. Their podcast, their Netflix deal, nothing was hitting.

In recent months, however, the Suits alum has clearly been preparing for her next shot. Not only is she teasing the launch of her lifestyle company American Rivera Orchards, but she’s also taking pointers from Hollywood powerhouses like Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow. She joined them and others at the house of broker Amy Griffin for a one-day business summit in July, an insider dished:

“Meghan was there to network. She was very kind and humble and eager to learn.”

Over the summer, she’s also gotten more involved with various charity organizations, like The Parents’ Network, a campaign to protect kids from online harm. She and her hubby also made a trip to Colombia. A second insider reflected:

“Meghan has transitioned from actress to royal to entrepreneur. She’s worn many hats, but she believes age and experience have [prepared her] for a bigger purpose in life. She’s very happy with the role she’s carved out.”

It was important for her to take the time to process everything and come up with a new plan of action after her initial media blitz post-royals, the family friend acknowledged:

“After Spare, [Harry and Meghan] realized, ‘OK, we’re ready to move on. We want to focus on our future. We can have meaning and importance separate from the lives we had previously.’”

They added:

“Meghan doesn’t harbor any negative feelings. She just wants peace, and knows you can’t find peace if you harbor resentments.”

She seemed to address this herself earlier this month in Colombia, saying:

“So much of how I approach things is less about the fight and more about how do we show up in the space and wash things over with love and kindness and generosity.”

Take her feud with Princess Catherine, for example. While she was happy to wish her well amid her cancer diagnosis, Meghan and Harry have not spoken out about other royal matters — and that’s on purpose. The family friend dished:

“Meghan’s team gets asked daily to comment on stuff that has nothing to do with their lives now. They have left it behind.”

She’s also left some of her own family members behind, like controversial father Thomas Markle, the first source said:

“Meghan still has no contact with her dad. She does not plan on having a relationship with him, and he has not met his grandkids. That ship has sailed.”

Instead, she leans on her pals and “has a great group of friends who are all successful in their own ways who she really trusts.” This includes Serena Williams and Ellen DeGeneres plus other local moms she meets up with regularly. The first insider added that she’s “very close” with neighbor and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd while a second insider said she’s befriended entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima, cofounder of IT Cosmetics.

Things are a bit more difficult for Harry. He “has a small [group] of close friends,” the second source shared, claiming he prefers to keep his inner circle small for “understandable reasons.” While that may be true, we have been hearing his UK friends don’t like his wife and that’s a big reason he’s become more lonely. Not to mention, most live in the UK, and he had to move to California — so that can’t be easy! Regardless, it sounds like he’ll always put his family first, the source went on:

“He’ll always be fond of his home country, but the way he views it, his wife and kids are his priority. If that means making sure they’re safe and happy in Montecito, then he supports that.”

The husband and wife are both very hands-on parents who want their kids Archie and Lilibet to have normal childhoods despite their fame, the family friend continued:

“They take the kids to school, they pick them up, and they are very active and present with them throughout the day.”

Referencing the Duke’s battle for security in the UK, the family friend insisted the children are going to stay out of the spotlight for their safety, noting:

“I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t. … [Prince] William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable. And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does.”

It sounds like the kids may not even understand their royal heritage yet, as the friend pointed out, “they’ll have those conversations in due time.” Right now, Meg and Harry want the little ones to feel loved for who they are:

“They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is vibrant and happy.”

The second source added that the parents are happy just being parents right now. Thankfully they apparently have plenty of time despite working on their Archewell Foundation campaigns and launching their business ventures. But as the kids get older, anything is possible:

“Afterwards who’s to say? But I think the focus is very much on raising their two children.”

And staying on the same page really helps. Meghan and Harry have been leaning on each other for support this whole time, the friend shared:

“They’re so in sync. Throughout their relationship, they’ve stood together no matter what.”

The second insider revealed that they enjoy downtime together and try to keep a positive mindset and are motivated to do their best work always, saying:

“It’s rooted in the bonds they share together.”

As for their new life in California, they do a lot of low-key activities like gardening, hiking, and cooking. The second insider described it as “a California lifestyle.” What, they don’t garden in Merry Old England??

While it was no doubt difficult to walk away from the royal family, they do have a big bonus now. They can work on “projects they are passionate about as opposed to being given projects to do,” making the work “more personal,” the second insider dished. Good point!

Along with The Parents’ Network, Meghan is working on her new initiative, the Welcome Project, which helps empower female refugees from Afghanistan. A third source who has worked with the former actress told the outlet:

“Female advocacy remains a centerpiece of her philanthropic intent.”

She’s also looking forward to launching her lifestyle brand sometime early next year, around the time her new Netflix series is supposed to premiere. The second source expressed:

“[ARO] will likely be very much in line with who Meghan is as a person. She loves hosting events, and she’s very thoughtful about how she treats her guests whenever they come over.”

The third insider said her series “is going to be a take on her and the joy of living,” including “little things she’s learned in terms of being a modern-day hostess.” It’s been rumored Harry may make an appearance. For now, the sources just promised there would be many familiar faces joining in.

So, Meghan has a lot on her plate coming up — but she’s NOT planning to run for office, return to acting, or write a memoir despite rampant rumors, the third confidant maintained. She’s just being Meghan:

“Meghan’s in the middle of her story right now.”

Maybe one day! Right now, a big passion of the 43-year-old’s is simply to give back, the family friend added:

“She knows her life would be extraordinarily different if she did not marry who she married. There is privilege and so much room to do good. She wants to meet the moment and make good on her good fortune.”

The friend noted that it was hard for her to “be herself” in the royal household which is why this change of pace is so refreshing, they shared:

“Most people are not really allowed to be themselves — if you’ve watched The Crown, I think that’s pretty understood.”

That’s why she’s so excited about this moment:

“There’s air and space and room. She can just be who she is.”

It’s certainly an exciting time with so much still to come from Meg! We just hope her business ventures and media projects are more successful this time around! Otherwise, she’s gonna have to come up with a whole new plan!

On Tuesday, publisher Penguin Random House announced that the Duke of Sussex‘s book will be published in paperback in the US on October 22. And two days later, on October 24, it’ll hit shelves in the UK! But there’s an interesting addition to note here that is TOTALLY changing the dynamic of this version. And if it works… it might be a major step towards reconciliation with Harry’s estranged father King Charles, and his estranged brother Prince William.

See, in addition to announcing those October release dates on Tuesday, the publisher also announced that the contents of the paperback version of Spare will remain completely unchanged from the hardcover version! That’s a big deal!! In most cases, paperback editions include extra chapters and content so as to entice people to buy them long after the hardcover versions of books have come out.

But with Spare, there will be NO changes. So, no new surprises to William, Charles, and the rest of the royal family! We thought for a long time that there would be additional chapters involved in the paperback version. But Penguin Random House has opted not to go that route.

And that’s why this is such a big (non) move. Per People, insiders are already noting that the decision to run the book without any updates is widely being viewed as a small but important step towards reconciliation between Harry and his estranged family. There’s no other shoe to fall, no more drama to reveal, no more surprises to unearth. They’ll know what to expect with the paperback version and (theoretically) be able to handle it!

For those who missed it, she hosted an AMA to promote a graphic novel called Expecting The Unexpected, but commenters used it as an ambush. There were hundreds of questions, almost none of which were about that project or anything else that she wanted to talk about. Instead, they were all about her Sandy Hook denial!

Yes, way back in 2013 she reposted a Sandy Hook conspiracy theory video that said the school shooting was a massive hoax by the government, calling it at the time a “must-watch.” She later tweeted that “asking questions and doing research is more patriotic than blindly accepting what you’re told.” Oof.

Clearly, Ronda didn’t see this coming. She didn’t answer a single question, and the AMA ended after an hour. Well, she’s posted an answer to all of it now.

She took to her X (Twitter) account late on Thursday night to post an apology for everything — for amplifying the conspiracy theory, for staying silent about it all these years, the whole thing. Ronda called sharing the video “the single most regrettable decision of my life.” She admitted:

“I didn’t even believe it, but was so horrified at the truth that I was grasping for an alternative fiction to cling to instead. I quickly realized my mistake and took it down, but the damage was done.”

She spoke directly to those affected, saying:

“I apologize that this came 11 years too late, but to those affected by the Sandy Hook massacre, from the bottom of my heart and depth of my soul I am so so sorry for the hurt I caused, I can’t even begin to imagine the pain you’ve endured and words cannot describe how thoroughly remorseful and ashamed I am of myself for contributing it. I’ve regretted it every day of my life since and will continue to do so until the day I die.”

But still she didn’t speak out for so many years! About that, she wrote:

“I can’t say how many times I’ve redrafted this apology over the last 11 years.”

But every time, she said, she “convinced myself it wasn’t the right time.” But that was BS, and she knew it. She wasn’t being called out on it, the media hadn’t picked it up and canceled her. She was thriving, as a matter of fact. Her movie career was just beginning. And so…

“I never spoke of it again, afraid that calling attention to it would have the opposite of the intended effect — it could increase the views on those conspiracy videos, and selfishly inform even more people I was ignorant, self absorbed and tone deaf enough to share on in the first place.”

That last part, admitting how aware she is now about how selfish she was being by saying nothing, is the crucial part here. Because now she says:

“But honestly I deserve to be hated, labeled, detested, resented and worse for it. I deserve to lose out on every opportunity, I should have been canceled, I would have deserved it. I still do.”

Yes. THIS is an apology. It’s not just admitting the wrongdoing — she’s not mitigating how bad it was, she’s not making the case for being forgiven. Just the opposite. She truly believes what she did was wrong, and she’s admitting she’s believed all this time she deserved to face consequences. No, not deserved. DESERVES. Present tense. It matters.

Wow. You just don’t see this kind of apology from someone for this kind of thing. Usually they’re too far down the rabbit hole to come out and admit how wrong they were. But in perhaps the most important part of her message, she speaks directly to others who have “fallen down the black hole of bulls**t,” delivering a message more important now than ever:

“It doesn’t make you edgy, or an independent thinker, you’re not doing your due diligence entertaining every possibility by digesting these conspiracies. They will only make you feel powerless, afraid, miserable and isolated. You’re doing nothing but hurting others and yourself.”

Unfortunately we’ve seen that more and more starkly illustrated by QAnon followers the past couple years, several of whom have murdered their own families after being radicalized by nonsense. But Ronda shares a powerful message to people who have let themselves believe this stuff:

“Regardless of how many bridges you’ve burned over it, stop digging yourself a deeper hole, don’t get wrapped up in the sunk cost fallacy. No matter how long you’ve gone down the wrong road, you should still turn back.”

Amazing. Really, truly unexpected. She said the exact right words. And, as she noted, it was all over a decade too late.

In Matthew Perry’s book, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, published in 2022, the actor opened up about his past drug use as the “Big Terrible Thing.” But he also spoke about the drug that ultimately killed him — ketamine. When discussing that one, however, he only had good things to say.

It should have been a huge red flag…

Matty’s use of the drug began as ketamine therapy. The Friends star had started using the hallucinogenic drugs under medical supervision as part of a treatment plan for depression, during which doctors would combine ketamine with the anxiety medication Ativan — and it worked wonders. Until, as we all know, it became the problem.

The comedian recalled it feeling like “being hit in the head with a giant happy shovel.” He remarked:

“Ketamine felt like a giant exhale. They’d bring me into a room, sit me down, put headphones on me so I would listen to music, blindfold me, and put an IV in.”

The 17 Again alum openly struggled with addiction for much of his adult life, so his description of the drug is pretty harrowing now. He said:

“Ketamine was a very popular street drug in the 1980s. There is a synthetic form of it now, and it’s used for two reasons: to ease pain and help with depression. Has my name written all over it — they might as well have called it ‘Matty.’”

Oof. The late 54-year-old recalled getting used to the hallucinogenic effects, noting he would often “disassociate” and “see things” during his sessions. He explained:

“I’d been in therapy for so long that I wasn’t even freaked out by this. Oh, there’s a horse over there? Fine — might as well be.”

He went on:

“As the music played and the K ran through me, it all became about the ego, and the death of the ego.”

In retrospect he’s absolutely just writing about taking drugs. We mean, right?? In the same way, it wasn’t always a good experience, as he expressed:

“I often thought that I was dying during that hour. ‘Oh,’ I thought, ‘this is what happens when you die.’ […] Yet I would continually sign up for this s**t because it was something different, and anything different is good.”

Jeez. That’s hard to read all this knowing this really would be how he died. As Perezcious readers know, the Fools Rush In alum passed away on October 28, 2023, after he was found unconscious in his jacuzzi. It was determined he died from the “acute effects of ketamine use,” and his assistant Kenneth Iwamasa was just arrested for involvement in the death. Per the Department of Justice, he was the person who administered the fatal dose of ketamine that killed the beloved star. Four others, including two doctors, were also charged.

So, so heartbreaking that something Matthew once thought was helping him ultimately just fed into his addiction further, and that those in his inner circle didn’t try to put a stop to it. Unfortunately no one who read the book clocked the issue he was developing with ketamine either. We all really believed he was sober.

Before the Colleen Hoover book adaptation hit theaters earlier this month, rumors of a beef between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni spread online as she refused to do any promo or speak about her co-star (who was also the film’s director). It was quickly clear that he was also getting shut out by the rest of the cast.

We still don’t 100% know what went down on that set, but most sources have agreed this feud has something to do with creative differences. There are also allegations that the Gossip Girl alum was rude and overbearing (as evidenced by resurfaced interview clips), and claims that the Jane the Virgin star was “borderline abusive,” making the set an uncomfortable place to be, especially for the leading lady.

So far, Brandon Sklenar is the only one who has directly addressed the controversy. Without clarifying the feud rumors, he stood up for Blake online this week, bashing the way the actress and other women on set have been “vilified.”  Nevertheless, it’s clear there’s a big rift among this cast — and it may be SO bad that it could stop the possibility of a sequel!

If you don’t know, It Ends With Us was followed by It Starts With Us, which chronicles Lily Bloom’s romance with Atlas (aka Blake, and Brandon) while navigating co-parenting with Justin’s character Ryle. The first film has already made more than $200 million globally, so a sequel would normally be a no-brainer. But with the Five Feet Apart director being such an integral part of the first film and at the center of this ongoing drama, it may be impossible to make the next one! Uh-oh!

DailyMail.com got the scoop on Thursday with sources claiming that the future of the franchise is in jeopardy, sharing:

“It’s hard to imagine Justin wanting to work with Blake — or vice versa — after all this bad blood. Whatever started this feud, there certainly has been no obvious rapprochement between the pair.”

If the cast can’t stand to be near the director or even acknowledge his existence during the press tour, how are they expected to interact on a film set again?? It does seem pretty impossible. But that’s not even the biggest problem!!!

You see, Justin wasn’t just an actor, producer, or director… he also owns the rights! Justin’s production company secured the film rights for the first book, and according to insiders, he already bought the rights to the second book, as well. So, he holds all the power.

Considering Blake and Colleen reportedly banded together against him in the making of IEWU, it might not be easy for them to convince Justin to hand over the rights to someone else, or let them film it without his involvement (should that be the way they want to proceed). But they can try!

FWIW, Justin has gushed about Blake during his promo, even insisting that she’d be a better fit to direct the second movie if it gets made. So, he doesn’t seem totally opposed to it. But it would be complicated!

We could see a world in which he officially hands over the reins to Ryan Reynolds‘ wife, making it so they no longer have to fight about creative decisions. They could limit their interactions on set as much as possible to make it more bearable, too. Of course, that’s assuming nothing too serious happened and that Blake and the rest of the cast would be willing to be near the actor again.

It seems more likely right now that nobody would want to work with the Man Enough podcast host. So, what then? Well, they could always recast him! That would only make all this feud speculation worse, but it would avoid uncomfortable situations on set! He’d have to be willing to walk away, though, and with everyone’s egos being so big in Hollywood, it’s hard to know if he’d react well to that idea. Guess we’ll see!

In case you’re not caught up on Ronda and her history with conspiracy theories, let’s dial it all the way back to 2013. The WWE star shared a video from a conspiracy theorist at the time, suggesting the horrific Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre — which took the lives of 26 people, the majority of which were children — was a total set-up. The insane video said the entire shooting was a hoax fabricated by the government with crisis actors, on par with the comments that got Alex Jones sued into oblivion. Ronda called it a “must watch”.

Disgusting behavior. And she never stepped down from her stance! She simply deleted the post and shared a tweet saying “asking questions and doing research is more patriotic than blindly accepting what you’re told”. Yikes…

That was nearly ten years ago now, but many people online are determined not to let the world forget what she said. During a Reddit AMA in which users could ask the wrestler anything about her upcoming graphic novel, everyone decided to take it a different route. Rather than taking to the comments of r/SquaredCircle with their burning questions about her novel, she was bombarded with questions about her Sandy Hook controversy.

In fact, the majority of people didn’t ask her a SINGLE question about her book! And the ones that did got downvoted so badly they disappeared! We’re talking HUNDREDS of questions about Sandy Hook!

OMG!

Here are a few of the questions from the now-locked AMA:

“In your graphic novel “EXPECTING THE UNEXPECTED” Will we see something unexpected like you apologizing to or acknowledging the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Massacre where 20 children were ruthlessly gunned down?”

“When you voiced Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11, did all of your past bad decisions regarding your views about Sandy Hook being staged cause you to deliver an incredibly uninspired performance or was it just because you weren’t right for the role to begin with?”

“Much like wrestling, a lot of people now think UFC is staged. Seeing as you competed in both, can you shed some light on if they’re staged, and while we’re at it, can you comment on if the sandy hook shooting was staged?”

“Have you ever considered apologizing to the Sandy Hook parents for being one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet and spreading conspiracies that the murder of their children was staged?”

They went IN on her, y’all! One person even asked if she was going to fire her PR team over this:

“Do you plan on firing your PR team for this dumpster fire, or will you use this as a sign that you have a lot of personal growth to do?”

Brandon was the first person from the It Ends With Us cast to directly address the controversy surrounding the film. There’s clearly a beef between Blake and director Justin Baldoni — with just about everyone taking Blake’s side so far. Some claim this was a result of his behavior toward Blake on set while others are putting her on blast for neglecting to discuss the serious topic of domestic violence during her promo efforts. Tons of resurfaced interviews have also popped up online, all damaging her reputation.

It’s so messy, and Brandon (who played Blake’s other love interest in the film) was DONE with it! In a lengthy statement on Instagram this week, he defended Blake and the book’s author Colleen Hoover, arguing that they’ve been vilified for no reason. He wrote:

“Colleen and the women of this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves. Vilifying the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and detracts from what this film is about. It is, in fact, the opposite of the point. What may or may not have happened behind the scenes does not and hopefully should not detract from what our intentions were in making this film. It’s been disheartening to see the amount of negativity being projected online.”

He went on to say he and the cast understood the great “responsibility” they had in bringing this story to life, adding:

“Ultimately it’s meant to spread love and awareness. It is not meant to once again, make the women the ‘bad guy,’ let’s move beyond that together.”

He didn’t clarify any of the rumored BTS drama, but he was clearly standing firmly on the Gossip Girl alum’s side since he did not tag Justin in the post.

Well, what he thought would put an end to the drama has only made it worse, especially for him! Fans are now clapping back, accusing him of “mansplaining” and misunderstanding the real problem at hand! While Brandon (smartly) disabled comments under the IG post, critics took to other social media platforms to put him on blast, writing:

“Thanks for the mansplain about how women should feel”

“We are not vilifying. We are giving a honest reaction to a bad promotion. Don’t try to make this what it’s not.”

“It had nothing to do with the ‘behind the scenes drama’ — it was her promoting her hair care line/drink biz instead of talking about/avoiding the seriousness of the subject”

“Rightly pointing out how either of these women handled the topic of domestic violence isn’t vilifying anyone”

“Not Brandon Sklenar gaslighting, mansplaining to survivors and victims about domestic violence. If Blake Lively and Brandon Sklenar believed so strongly in the message about domestic violence, why couldn’t they promote #ItEndsWithUs properly?”

“So now the actors trying to gaslight us? Taking cues from the DV handbook I see”

“Brandon Sklenar making a post on Instagram about not letting behind-the-scenes drama affect It Ends With Us while continuing to deny the existence of the film’s director is…a choice.”

As mentioned, tons of people have been upset with Blake’s marketing. She spent a lot of the press tour jointly promoting her new hair care line and alcohol company. And when she was talking about the film, it was usually not about the sensitive topic — instead focusing on the flower shop element, for example, or sometimes swerving questions about DV!

Heck, she even encouraged fans to dress up in florals to see the movie like they were showing up to a rom-com and not a story about abuse! Just totally tone-deaf — and the complete opposite to Justin’s approach. Even Brandon has seemed baffled by some of Blake’s responses during joint interviews — though he’s also leaned into the goofy promo, like playing flower Pictionary with his leading lady at one point.

Not to mention, Blake was doing this light-hearted promo despite Colleen dealing with years of criticism for glorifying and romanticizing abuse in her books.  It’s one reason not everyone was thrilled with the movie adaptation. The ladies should’ve seen this drama coming a mile away and done what they could to avoid it, but nope!

So… Brandon’s not wrong that Blake’s been in the hot seat — but there has been a reason for it (that had nothing to do with all the other rumors). But do y’all think he was in the wrong for standing up for his co-star?? Sound OFF (below)!

Allegations have been swirling left and right about what happened. Some are blaming Blake for being rude, with critics saying she has been downplaying the seriousness of the film’s subject matter in her marketing efforts. Meanwhile, others are claiming Justin exhibited some “borderline abusive” behavior on set. It’s a mess… but very few are speaking out.

For instance, the book’s author Colleen Hoover has remained fairly quiet through the whole controversy. But it turns out she (or rather, her family) has a dark past with icky allegations too! Not only has she long been accused of glorifying abuse in her books, including in IEWU which was first published in 2016, but a resurfaced allegation about her son might have you looking at this latest drama and her silence differently!

Two years ago, it turns out, her son Levi was accused of sexually assaulting a minor — and Colleen defended him! Here’s the deal. On February 12, 2022, an X (Twitter) user named @theonottlovebot chimed onto a thread criticizing Colleen, alleging in a since-deleted tweet:

“Her son also sexually harassed me and she aired me and she blocked me when i spoke up about it to her”

The user elaborated in a follow-up tweet, adding:

“Long story short, we were friends on [Snapchat] and s**t and like every day we would message cause we’re friends right and like this was when I was 16 and he was fully aware of how old I was I was cause I always talked about the fact I was still in school.”

Per Distractify, the claims were made against Levi (one of Colleen’s three sons), who would have been 21 at the time, but the user didn’t give any other details. That said, she provided a since-deleted screenshot showing proof that she DMed the writer on Instagram to tell her about this alleged interaction with her son, in which she apologized for the “disturbing” news but wanted to bring it to Colleen’s attention. She insisted she wasn’t “looking for anything” and “understood if [Colleen] just ignore[d]” the message. See HERE.

Several months later, this allegation was brought up as one of the reasons to boycott the Verity author’s books (along with the argument that she was glorifying and romanticizing abuse and domestic violence in her writing).

Eventually, Colleen spoke out — and hit back at the allegations! She took to her private Facebook group called “Colleen Hoover’s CoHorts” on November 18, 2022 to clarify things, writing per Distractify:

“Things being said about my son aren’t accurate. People are commenting that I blocked a girl for informing me that my son sexually assaulted her when she was sixteen. This absolutely did not happen, and this is not even initially what was said by this person.”

For the record, in the DM screenshot, it is not clear what allegation the Twitter user made as that portion is cut off. All that can be seen is an explanation about why she was reaching out to the novelist. That said, as the allegations spread online, it does seem like they intensified with some claiming sexual assault had occurred (though that doesn’t appear to be in the user’s initial complaint). The 44-year-old explained her side of the story, adding:

“My son and a girl were online friends for several months. They never met in person. He said something to her in a message that made her uncomfortable (he asked her to send him a pic), so she messaged me about it. I did not read this message, but she thought I did, and it understandably upset her that I didn’t respond. She then posted on Twitter that my son asked her for a pic. AS SOON as I found out about this months ago, I reached out to her.”

She continued:

“We discussed what happened, I apologized to her and thanked her for bringing this to my attention, and I offered to send her our home address and lawyer info should she want it. I held my son accountable for sending a message to her that was inappropriate. I addressed it directly with her and with my son.”

The mother of three concluded:

“I didn’t address it publicly because 1) I feel it’s not my place to talk about someone else’s experience and 2) everyone who knows me here has seen me parent these boys and hold them accountable. I’m sad this happened. You guys know I’ve tried my best to raise my children with respect, and to show respect.”

No further details about the situation emerged and it doesn’t appear as though any legal action was ever taken. That said, the rumors have continued to swirl — especially this month as the It Ends With Us movie was released and backlash about Colleen and her books kicked up again. It’s certainly not the best look coming from someone who wrote about DV, that’s for sure!

Speaking to Times Radio via Express on Sunday, author Andrew Morton insisted that the brothers’ relationship remains incredibly strained and likely won’t change now that Harry and Meghan Markle have mapped out a new plan for their careers! Morton suggested:

“I think that Harry and Meghan have worked out a life together. They have their own agenda and they have their own causes. And I don’t see any movement whatsoever towards a reconciliation.”

Oof…

With talk of the Suits alum working on her own tell-all memoir, too, it’s clear that the two royal couples are headed in very different directions! It’s not just their own “agendas” that suggest a reconciliation may never come, though. The Diana: Her True Story writer continued:

“I would say that they’ve got an established pattern in their lives. And if any year could have brought about a reconciliation with the King suffering from cancer, and we all know about [Princess Catherine] and her medical problems, this would be the year to have done it. But there’s obviously been no movement in that regard.”

He has a point. Cancer and other serious heath battles typically bring an estranged family back together, but these issues appear to have only made the feud more noticeable! Because of this, author Michael Cole also believes there’s “no chance” that the siblings will mend fences anytime soon. Yikes! He told GB News last week:

“I don’t think there’s any chance at all of there a reconciliation with the brothers now or in the foreseeable future.”

Jeez. That stinks. Michael went on to blame the rift on Harry and Meghan’s public bashings of the royal family, adding:

“It goes back to the Oprah Winfrey interview then the book Spare and all the things that were said in the Netflix six-part series, too much bad blood and William is not going to forgive.”

This comes after sources claimed the brothers haven’t spoken since 2022 when they attended their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral. That said, other sources have hope they’ll one day be able to resolve things, especially if Harry is able to mend things with King Charles III — who reportedly misses his young son despite their ongoing feud, as well.

Meanwhile, cousins Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall are said to be encouraging Willy to make amends with Harry. Former royal butler Grant Harrold told the New York Post earlier this month that Beatrice “could act as a peacemaker for Harry, William and Charles.” He noted:

“She would be someone to initiate peace in the family. She’s close to both William and Harry, as well as the king — and they trust her. It would be her out of anyone else — but she wouldn’t want to be too involved.”

He added:

“I have no doubt she would have spoken to the two brothers at some point to try to improve the situation.”

A much more positive outlook than the other sources! But don’t get excited quite yet. Just because family members want them to resolve things, it doesn’t mean the men are ready to forgive and forget! Grant expressed:

“You’d like to think this time would bring William and Harry closer, but we don’t really know what’s going on behind closed doors. […] They may well be discussing things and communicating, but it’s very difficult. I have no doubt there will be some kind of communication between the brothers, and between Harry and his father. […] Of course, a lot has happened, and a lot has to be resolved and sorted out. This may well be on track, but it may not have even been addressed yet.”

So far, it doesn’t seem like anyone’s willing to communicate with Harry about any topic — even despite his loved ones’ health issues! So, it really does seem like this feud is going to go on for a LONG time!
