While chatting with Michelle Yeoh for Interview magazine about her new film The Substance, the pair opened up about the Hollywood beauty standards. The 61-year-old actress praised the Everything Everywhere All at Once for her acceptance speech at the Academy Awards, saying it reminded her that “we can define where we want it to go and who we are.” She continued:

“We don’t have to fight against that, we just have to believe that something else is possible. To me, what’s exciting is, in the film, I’m representing a past ideal and not what my present is.”

Looking back, Demi noted she specifically struggled with her place in the business after working on the Charlie’s Angels 2003 sequel — all because of the chatter about her appearance. She called out one scene in particular, in which she meets Cameron Diaz’s character at a beach during a stakeout while wearing a black bikini. Watch (below):

The scene was instantly iconic as Demi showed everyone she still looked AMAZING! Unfortunately the reaction was the opposite of what it should have been. Instead of realizing older women could still be taking on bombshell or femme fatale roles, folks in Hollywood got confused about what to do with her!

Demi, who was 40 during filming, felt “there didn’t seem to be a place for” her in Hollywood after the “talk about” her looks. She told Michelle:

“What’s interesting is I felt it more when I hit my forties. I had done Charlie’s Angels, and there was a lot of conversation around this scene in a bikini, and it was all very heightened, a lot of talk about how I looked. And then I found that there didn’t seem to be a place for me. I didn’t feel like I didn’t belong. It’s more like I felt that feeling of, I’m not 20, I’m not 30, but I wasn’t yet what they perceived as a mother.”

At that time, Demi really started to question where she “fit in”:

“It was a time that felt, not dead, but flat.”

Like so many actresses, Michelle sadly understood the Ghost star’s experience. Unfortunately, there are still too many men — both on the fan side AND producers — who are incredibly harsh when it comes to a woman’s aging looks. And as she pointed out, the business is so “cruel” to women as they age, saying:

“Hollywood is cruel to women of that age, where you don’t find the scripts or the characters that resonate with you anymore. It’s either, you are the mother or you’re old enough not to be sexy in their eyes. It’s like, why can’t a 45-year-old, a 50-year-old, or 60-year-old, be sexy?”

Perezcious readers know the makeup mogul and the Call Me By Your Name star have kept their relationship private. And other than her potentially going Instagram official with Timothée by accident, she doesn’t even post about him on social media!

It’s a complete 180 from her relationship with Travis Scott. Not to mention fans are just used to seeing all the big moments of her life play out online or through The Kardashians. But not this time.

And Kylie is loving the change. It’s why her relationship with the Wonka star isn’t up for discussion, not even during an interview with British Vogue on Tuesday! Explaining why not, she told the outlet:

“Privacy is so important to me in life.”

Keeping their romance so low-key “feels so good” to the reality star. As we mentioned, the feeling is “so good” that Kylie won’t even give us a little tea about Timmy. Damn.

Of course, that stance on the matter most likely comes from the fact the Kylie Cosmetics founder has been in the spotlight since she was a young child and started to film Keeping Up With the Kardashians with her family. She continued:

“I learnt at such a young age how to deal with all of this in the best way for me. So I don’t go crazy, if I am being honest.”

Even momager Kris Jenner pointed out to British Vogue that Kylie figured out how to protect her peace while dealing with the intense scrutiny from the public:

“When we started it was a different world that we lived in and we created this fanbase of hundreds of millions of people – if you add up our social media followings it’s billions of people. And you’re having people weigh in and give their opinion. She [had to] protect her soul. She has learnt to be emotionally available only to the people she feels really comfortable being around. She protects her mental health that way. Anywhere she goes it creates a lot of brouhaha. It can be very overwhelming.”

While sometimes fame is hard for Kylie, especially when she struggled with her self-image during her teen years, it isn’t all bad. The mom of two added:

“People ask me, ‘How do you deal with all this?’ I don’t remember a time before. I don’t really remember a time before there were the lights and the cameras.”

Yeah, she really doesn’t have anything to compare it to!

In a new essay for The New York Times on Friday, former editor-in-chief for Vibe, Danyel Smith, claimed the disgraced rapper threatened her life after a heated argument over his magazine covers for the December 1997/January 1998 issues. The 59-year-old editor recalled that Diddy demanded to see the images before publication a few days after shooting the cover shots, inspired by the 1978 Warren Beatty film poster for Heaven Can Wait. However, it was against their policy at the time. When she told him no, he allegedly did not take it well! Danyel said:

“After I told him no, we heard that he planned to come to our office and force us to show him what we’d chosen — and to make us choose something else if he didn’t like what he saw.”

Just in case, the veteran journalist alleged they created a safety plan for her if Diddy did show up at the offices in New York City. She noted the music mogul already “had a reputation for shaking tables” after being found guilty of criminal mischief in 1996 for threatening a New York Post photographer with a gun. There were also allegations he attacked a woman at his Bad Boy Records offices back then. So, to be better safe than sorry, they ensured Danyel would be OK if Diddy stepped foot in the Vibe building. Well, she sadly had to use the safety plan!

The Bad Boy Records founder did eventually stop by the offices to talk about the magazine covers, so Danyel was put into a cab to get away from him. However, she couldn’t avoid him for long. The following day, Danyel claimed she received a phone call from Diddy, who pushed to see the photos in advance. She once again denied the request due to the policy at Vibe. Rather than accepting it, though, Diddy allegedly threatened her. Danyel claimed:

“It was then that Combs told me, as I’ve retold hundreds of times over the years, that he would see me ‘dead in the trunk of a car.’”

OMG!!!

Who threatens to harm someone like this over a magazine cover? What the f**k! Danyel said she immediately told him “to take that threat back.” To which she remembered him replying:

“Take what back?”

And after giving a “vile laugh,” he allegedly added:

“‘[Expletive] you. I know where you are right now. Right on Lexington.’”

So scary! Danyel quickly contacted an attorney and threatened to take legal action against him. It was only then that Diddy faxed over an apology to her two hours later. However, that was not the end of the issue. Danyel went on to say the magazine servers were mysteriously stolen from the office not long after she argued with the record producer. Given the completed issue was on one of those servers, she noted it was believed his label was behind the robbery. Whoa. Fortunately, Vibe still released the magazine as their art director had it saved on a disk! They got super lucky.

As you know, this story comes amid the ongoing legal issues Diddy is dealing with lately. He faces several lawsuits from multiple people accusing him of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and more. There’s also an ongoing federal criminal investigation into the sex trafficking allegations against him. Previously, the Coming Home artist vehemently denied the accusations. He has yet to speak out on the claim made by Danyel.

In the snaps, Suki sported a long fringed coat by Bottega Veneta while she held her little one close to her chest in front of a garden background. Another photo showed the momma cradling her daughter in her arms once again — but this time she rocked a stunning gold Dior dress with a Charvet silk scarf to match. Check out the photos (below):

Amazing!!! In an accompanying interview, Suki also opened up about welcoming a child with fiancé and perennial internet’s boyfriend Robert Pattinson. Daisy Jones & The Six star revealed they were expecting their first child  at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico in November 2023. While the news of her pregnancy came as a shock to many fans, Suki revealed to the outlet they fully “planned” to have a kid:

“We really planned it. One day we looked at each other and said, ‘Well, this is as ready as we’re going to be.’ I was like, ‘What can make more chaos?’”

Ha! Once her baby girl arrived in March though, motherhood was “shocking in every way” to her the first few days — especially when it came to breastfeeding. The OMG singer recalled how “alarmed” she was once she realized a baby needed to be fed “every two hours,” saying:

“I was alarmed in the hospital when they kept waking me up. I was like, ‘Excuse me? Is this what this entails?’”

Don’t worry! Plenty of other moms also have been there, girl! But what got her through the birth and this new phase in her life? A rap playlist. Oh, and Robert, of course! She shared:

“He was there with me and like all dads, he was really nervous, but for someone who’s quite an anxious person, he’s been very calm.”

And as a girl dad? Suki went on to gush about how the Twilight alum is “the dad I could have hope for” her kiddo, adding:

“I mean a dad and his daughter? It’s an actual love story.”

Awww!!!

Becoming a momma has obviously had a massive impact on Suki’s life. She now no longer “has the mental capacity to care” about any online hate she gets — not when she has her daughter at home. Suki explained:

“Now I have this anchor. And I’m so happy all the time to go home and see her little gummy smile.”

Ultimately, the actress feels she finally got everything she’s ever wanted through Robert and their child. Talking about the track To Love off her upcoming album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, she said:

“I had a very clear feeling of being like, ‘Oh, wow, Rob and I have been together six years and I’m still really into this.’ That’s never happened to me before, that’s like a crazy thing. This love and having a family and having a little world… Whatever happens, this is my dream.”

In a heartfelt self-written cover story for Glamour on Thursday, the One Tree Hill star finally debunked the rumors surrounding her divorce from ex-husband Grant Hughes — while confirming she’s dating Ashlyn Harris! Officially out as “queer,” the actress revealed she’s never been happier than she is right now in her new romance! She explained:

“As I came into myself, I already felt it was my home. I think I’ve always known that my sexuality exists on a spectrum. Right now I think the word that best defines it is queer. I can’t say it without smiling, actually. And that feels pretty great.”

Aw! So, so amazing!

Stressing just how monumental this self-discovery has been, the 41-year-old detailed:

“I finally feel like I can breathe. I don’t think I can explain how profound that is. I feel like I was wearing a weighted vest for who knows how long. I hadn’t realized how heavy it was until I finally just put it down.”

So happy for her!

The Chicago PD alum said she’s “experienced so much safety, respect, and love in the queer community” both as an ally and new member. That is why she felt it was important to formally come out in a time of so much strife for the community. She explained:

“I sort of hate the notion of having to come out in 2024. But I’m deeply aware that we are having this conversation in a year when we’re seeing the most aggressive attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community in modern history. There were more than 500 anti-LGBTQIA+ bills proposed in state legislatures in 2023, so for that reason I want to give the act of coming out the respect and honor it deserves.”

That said, this journey hasn’t been without its challenges. As Perezcious readers know, speculation about Sophia’s sexuality burst onto the scene amid her divorce last year — which coincided with the former soccer star’s split from her ex-wife, Ali Krieger, too. Sophia and Ashlyn started spending WAY more time together around then, leading many to assume they’d both cheated on their former spouses. However, that is something they have both adamantly denied.

Slamming all the trolls who commented about her now-confirmed romance before she was ready to let it all out there, Sophia noted that she wished she could have navigated the “public part” of this process on her own terms. But she knows that she is lucky to have been in a stable place with her sexuality when the madness began, too. She pointed out:

“I’m very aware, though, as we discuss bullying and harassment and being outed without consent — that I’m incredibly lucky this happened in my adulthood. I really love who I am, at this age and in this moment.”

Outing someone can be so damaging to their mental health, we’re glad she’s calling it out!

So, what happened anyway to get her to this place?! She spilled ALL the tea! Sophia insisted that her marriage wasn’t working — and she knew it from the very beginning. She almost called off the 2022 wedding! Ultimately, she went through with it only to realize months later that she “absolutely had made a mistake.” The realization was obvious when she was going through “the depths and heartbreak of the fertility process,” often dealing with difficult doctor’s appointments “alone.” She also blamed the relationship troubles on the fact that she and Grant didn’t “speak the same emotional language.”

She then signed on to do a play in London to get space from her husband. But after falling ill and having to return home, she knew her “marriage” was “over.” That’s when things with the athlete blossomed — just as besties at first! They were part of the same friend group bonding over divorces and relationship problems at the time. It took a while before she realized there could be something more with Harris. Bashing the “blatant lies,” “violent threats,” and “accusations of being a home-wrecker” that surfaced in the summer of 2023, the outspoken activist wrote:

“The ones who said I’d left my ex because I suddenly realized I wanted to be with women — my partners have known what I’m into for as long as I have. The idea that I left my marriage based on some hysterical rendezvous — that, to be crystal-clear, never happened — rather than having taken over a year to do the most soul crushing work of my life? Rather than realizing I had to be the most vulnerable I’ve ever been, on a public stage, despite being terrified to my core? It feels brutal.”

The journey was “long and thoughtful and exhaustive” and not something she wanted to do in real-time on social media. Understandable! Eventually, it was their friends who pointed out to her how she and Ashlyn would “finish each other’s sentences or be deeply affected by the same things.” She detailed:

“When you’re so in the trenches of hardship—plus you have the added weight of having to go through it on a public stage—it can be hard to see anything but what’s right in front of you. It took me confronting a lot of things, what felt like countless sessions of therapy, and some prodding from loved ones, but eventually I asked Ashlyn to have a non-friend-group hang to talk about it.

And that meal was four and a half hours long and truly one of the most surreal experiences of my life thus far. In hindsight, maybe it all had to happen slowly and then suddenly all at once. Maybe it was all fated. Maybe it really is a version of invisible string theory. I don’t really know. But I do know that for a sparkly moment I felt like maybe the universe had been conspiring for me. And that feeling that I have in my bones is one I’ll hold on to no matter where things go from here.”

Sophia’s family is now fully supportive of the new romance, too, after getting to spend “time with Ash over the holidays.” According to Bush, that had them remarking, “well, this finally looks right.” Sophia recalled elsewhere:

“After the news became public, my mom told me that one of her friends called her and said, ‘Well, this can’t be true. I mean, your daughter isn’t gay.’ My mom felt that it was obvious, from the way her friend emphasized the word, that she meant it judgmentally. And you know what my mom said? ‘Oh honey, I think she’s pretty gay. And she’s happy.’”

While the John Tucker Must Die alum refused to go into the details of her new girlfriend’s divorce, she did gush:

“Falling in love with her has sutured some of my own childhood wounds, and made me so much closer to my own mother. Seeing Ashlyn choose to not simply survive, but thrive, for her babies [Sloane, 3, and Ocean, 20 months] has been the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed a friend do. And now I get to love her. How lucky am I?”

What a legendary photo!! Despite being super famous, they were still teenagers at the end of the day. And they came with “a lot of drama” on set, according to Mandy! Especially over guys!

She appeared on the influencer Valeria Lipovetsky’s podcast Not Alone on Tuesday and spilled the tea about what went on behind the scenes of the shoot, saying:

“A lot of teenage drama for sure. There was a fight over a boy I wanna say between two people, I don’t even remember who. I remember feeling like a real outlier and outsider like, ‘I am not a part of the cool kids club.’”

Who wants to bet the “fight over a boy” happened between Lindsay and Hilary? Remember, they were caught in a massive love triangle with their mutual ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter back in the day!

But something did make Mandy feel like she was “part of the cool kids club” back then — the fact “one of the Olsen twins” had a massive crush on her boyfriend! Mandy shared:

“I just remember feeling really cool about that.”

Ha! Not many people would be super chill about that! Looking back, though, there was a major bright side to the shoot for Mandy. She eventually became best friends with Hilary Duff! The This Is Us alum expressed:

“We laugh about that all the time. We were such babies then and to think fast-forward 20 years from now… our husbands are best friends. She’s a very, very dear friend to me. We have all these kids and kids running around. Hilary is just like ultimate mom goals in every sense. She is the most incredible mother and businesswoman and she does everything with such grace. One day we’ll be able to show our kids like, ‘Isn’t this so funny, we knew each other back then and now look at us.”

“They tried that dress on me, I wasn’t comfortable but they told me there was no time cause everyone else took up too much time with their fittings. Then I was given a choice on whether I wanted to wear flats or heels. I chose flats and was immediately handed heels and told they looked better. Then we were all lined up, stared at and approved. I was 15 and felt for the first time my identity being erased and the pressure to shut up and do what you are told. I felt like meat. Since then, I have found my voice. Never again.”

Big yikes!

The cover band singer was chosen to recreate Christina Aguilera’s iconic 2002 Rolling Stone cover. You know, the one from the Stripped era where she wore nothing but a pair of boots and a Hot Topic-esque glove thing while strategically covering herself with a blue guitar? Refresh your memory and check it out:

But she was quickly forced to admit she edited it when a kill notice was released by media agencies over the pic following Photoshop rumors! Dozens of theories have emerged ever since as fans guess what’s going on — including this latest claim from a Daily Mirror employee!

Ruby Naldrett, who works in social media at the UK tabloid, took to X (Twitter) on Monday morning to share her explanation behind the controversial family photo, and it’ll shock you! Ruby thinks the 42-year-old’s face was superimposed onto the image – from a Vogue cover shoot almost a decade ago!! Huh?!?

Explaining her theory, the X user dished:

“my analysis of the kate middleton photo saga is that they took her face from the vogue cover she did years ago and edited it in”

As you can see, the only big difference is the fact that in the fashion magazine cover taken in 2016, the Princess of Wales was wearing a hat. But one commenter believes there’s an explanation for this! They noted in response:

“That’s why her hair is blurry and translucent from them enhancing where the hat flattened it. Wow.”

Many have found fault with various aspects of the family photo — which was supposedly snapped sometime this year — including with Kate’s hair, so it’s not that crazy of a guess. As for why the royals might do this, another person suggested there’s a deeper reason why The Firm could’ve chosen to reuse this particular photo! They noted:

“This goes deeper! The Vogue cover was her ‘breakthrough’ moment, where she became the picture-perfect future queen. Maybe they’re trying to recapture that image? Symbolism over substance, hiding the fact that under the polish, the fairy-tale isn’t so perfect anymore.”

Oof.

All that said, not everyone is convinced yet — especially since this would take a seriously skilled editor! Some argued:

“The lighting is completely different. Find it hard to believe that the same person who botched that photoshop job was able to change the light on her face like that”

“It’s nothing alike. It’s just the same face with the same smile, because it’s the same person. Otherwise it’s not remotely similar”

“This is ‘spot on’… because it’s the same woman’s face.”

TBH, we hope it’s just a similar expression because if the palace were to do something like this amid already intense conspiracy theories (like rumors the future queen’s really in a coma), that would be NUTS!! Just one more reason they need to release the original pic!!

The 49-year-old actress talked to guest Christina Aguilera on Tuesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, and the convo quickly turned to motherhood. Drew shares two girls, 11-year-old Olive and 9-year-old Frankie, with ex-husband Will Kopelman. And her current daughter-mom struggle? Her child wants to wear crop tops. Who better to talk to about dressing provocatively than Xtina, right??

Drew’s big hurdle? Her 1995 Playboy appearance. The Charlie’s Angels star explained:

“My daughter wants to wear a crop top, I’ll say, ‘No,’ and she’ll go, ‘You were on the cover of Playboy.’”

Oof! Yeah, in her wild younger years, Drew became pretty well known for stripping down. Heck, she infamously flashed David Letterman on network TV!

It’s gotta be tough to tell your daughter to cover up with that on your CV.

But Christina 100 percent understood what Drew was going through! The singer chimed in to say she knew the second she wore those iconic chaps during her Stripped era that it would be used against her at some point while raising her daughter Summer:

“I knew it was coming the day I wore chaps. My daughter wants to wear a crop top, too. And I’m just like, ‘Can we just pull it down?’ Like, I see myself doing that. But I think I always try to instill in her that certain people out there have good intentions and bad intentions.”

She went on to say she wants her daughter to really know the power of what she’s wearing before she wears it:

“I don’t want to scare her in one way and be terrified of the world and that everybody is a bad person, because they’re not. But also, I think it’s important for her to have a strong sense of self but also to be very empowered with her body and eventually [what] will be her sexuality. So I want her to just really know herself first.”

Looking back, Christina feels the chaps and Drew’s Playboy cover were both “empowering” moments for them at the time. She explained:

“We were expressing ourselves and how we felt was best for us I think, at the time.”

Even Drew shared that she “loved every minute of it!” Christina ended the candid chat by stressing how “empowering being a female and embracing your body” can be:

“We didn’t do it for someone else, and then there are so many labels and judgments, saying like, ‘Oh, you’re doing it for a guy.’ No, you’re making it about that narrative in your own head. That has nothing to do [with it] … It’s empowering being a female and embracing your body, and everything that makes you feel good or womanly. However, that is for yourself to be able to embrace that.”

Love that! But for now, Drew and Christina seemingly aren’t ready for their kiddos to wear crop tops quite yet! Lolz! Watch the interview (below):
