First, before J.Lo finally filed for divorce, sources claimed her inner circle, including her longtime manager Benny Medina, HATED her hubby. Not a great sign! More recently, because they seemingly didn’t have a prenup before tying the knot, Ben’s bestie Matt Damon could get dragged into the messy divorce, which we bet has soured him on Jenny from the Block!

The duo started their production company Artists Equity after the Bennifer wedding, meaning Ben’s stake is now community property in the divorce, according to TMZ. So the singer is entitled to financial interest from their films and could fight Ben for some of his stake in the company! With all that in mind, it got us thinking… If J.Lo’s friends never liked Ben, how did his friends feel about her?? Was everyone seeing the red flags or nah?!

Well, it turns out The Martian star was actually very open about how he felt about the lovebirds when they rekindled things. In 2021, Matt chatted with Extra on the red carpet of his movie Stillwater and he weighed in on the romance, sharing:

“I’m just so happy for him.”

So, not exactly a glowing report or any kind of comment on Jennifer herself. Just that he’s happy for his friend. Hmm. It seemed like such a sweet sentiment at the time, but looking back, was this a little cryptic? Was he purposefully not mentioning the other half of the relationship?? Hmm.

FWIW, the 53-year-old did acknowledge Jennifer a little later on — but he still kept his thoughts vague, adding:

“He’s the best. He deserves every happiness in the world. I’m glad for both of them.”

Huh.

By the way, this wasn’t the only time he commented on the relationship. In May of that year, before the romance was confirmed, he appeared on Today where Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb questioned him about the rumored sparks. He coyly teased:

“I just heard you guys. I was sitting here waiting to come on TV. It’s the first time I heard about it.”

But he did gush about them both, saying:

“It’s a fascinating story. I hope it’s true. I love them both. I hope it’s true. That would be awesome.”

Back then, Matt seemed to like the Hustlers alum, as far as we can tell. So we guess it was only her friends seeing the warning signs before anyone else!

But as Ben’s bestie, we wonder if Matt has a different opinion these days?? We mean, he must if he’s about to get caught in the middle of the divorce, right? And just imagine the horror stories he may have heard from his buddy as the marriage was deteriorating! He’s gotta have all the tea — and he’s clearly Team Ben all the way!

Matt’s been by Ben’s side throughout this whole split, and the pair have been spending a ton of time together both before and after the filing. From what we’ve heard Ben has been totally focused on work. Over the weekend, the father of three even seemed in good spirits as he joined The Instigators star, his wife Luciana Barroso, and their children for dinner in Los Angeles. So Matt’s loyalties haven’t changed! Romances can come and go but this bromance will never change.

Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones is breaking his silence six months after filing his bombshell lawsuit against Diddy.

Back in February, the music producer launched a shocking lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records founder, alleging everything from sexual harassment and sexual assault to being drugged, groped, forced to sleep with sex workers, not getting paid for his work on the rapper’s 2023 record The Love Album: Off the Grid, as well as much, much more. On Monday, Diddy’s camp attempted to have the lawsuit dismissed in Manhattan federal court. But now, Rodney is hitting back.

In a sprawling conversation with Rolling Stone published on Tuesday, the plaintiff alleged that in the wake of his filing, it’s been near impossible for him to find work in the industry:

“Because of this lawsuit, most people don’t want to come near working with me for whatever reasons, whether they’ve been in partnership with Puff or they want to just sit back and see what happens. He’s a gatekeeper in the music industry.”

He added:

“In this industry, to be successful, you have to have worked with someone like him or Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Kanye or 50 Cent. So many people I’ve worked with have had business deals with him. I reached out to try to get a deal for my album, and people don’t want to get involved.”

Obviously, if that’s true, that’s a pretty raw deal for somebody who has up to this point made his livelihood in music…

The producer speculated:

“People are too scared, whatever their reasons are, to touch this. My name is all over the [Love Album] credits, so I had to have done some producing. It got a Grammy nomination. And I’m sitting here doing nothing, unable to work. This is not right.”

And seemingly amid all the legal fees and lack of income, Rodney has hit a wall:

“I’m broke. I have no source of income right now. Every month I’m trying to figure out how the bills are going to get paid.”

Oof. That’s awful!! He cited a show that he did for Juneteenth at the Hollywood Bowl with T-Pain, but noted that showing his face there amid the ongoing legal issues was nothing short of terrifying:

“Doing that show, I had a couple mental breakdowns. I almost felt like it was too soon for me to try to come back outside to work. My anxiety was out the roof. I saw different guys backstage I didn’t know and got scared. I wondered where the security was. It made me very uncomfortable. It’s not a good feeling wondering if someone was there to attack me.”

He added:

“I’ve got three therapists. Everybody saw the video of Cassie. This is who I’m dealing with.”

Poor dude! Looking over your shoulder like that must be exhausting… Especially when he was just trying to make some money to afford his bills! And Rodney clearly feels wronged for being ousted from the biz, because he feels that all he’s trying to do is bring “justice” for himself and others affected by Diddy. He told the news org:

“Here I am standing up for justice, for what I believe is right for my life, and I’m being punished for that. I’m blackballed, for sure. I’ve had many nights and weeks and months of suicidal thoughts. It’s the music that has kept me living all my life.”

“Suicidal thoughts”? Oof. That’s just SO horrible that he’s been driven to that point.

Speaking directly about Diddy, he added:

“He’s a monster. He’ll do whatever is necessary to get exactly what he wants. He doesn’t take no for an answer. He [told me] himself, ‘I’ll smack my mama.’ Anybody who can say that even jokingly is a monster. He’s nothing to be played with. For a person whose brand is Love Records, and changed their name to Love and named their kid Love, he doesn’t show love. He’s just marketing.”

In a lengthy Us Weekly cover story on Wednesday, sources opened up about how the Duchess of Sussex has found her new purpose after taking her Prince Charming and going home. Noting that she’s gone through many career changes in her past, a family friend told the outlet:

“You’re established in one world and then you enter another and your narrative is dictated by external forces.”

Not easy to navigate!

After leaving the royal family, Meghan and Prince Harry made a splash by doing several media projects and interviews, but it quickly became apparent none of it was panning out the way they had hoped. Their podcast, their Netflix deal, nothing was hitting.

In recent months, however, the Suits alum has clearly been preparing for her next shot. Not only is she teasing the launch of her lifestyle company American Rivera Orchards, but she’s also taking pointers from Hollywood powerhouses like Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow. She joined them and others at the house of broker Amy Griffin for a one-day business summit in July, an insider dished:

“Meghan was there to network. She was very kind and humble and eager to learn.”

Over the summer, she’s also gotten more involved with various charity organizations, like The Parents’ Network, a campaign to protect kids from online harm. She and her hubby also made a trip to Colombia. A second insider reflected:

“Meghan has transitioned from actress to royal to entrepreneur. She’s worn many hats, but she believes age and experience have [prepared her] for a bigger purpose in life. She’s very happy with the role she’s carved out.”

It was important for her to take the time to process everything and come up with a new plan of action after her initial media blitz post-royals, the family friend acknowledged:

“After Spare, [Harry and Meghan] realized, ‘OK, we’re ready to move on. We want to focus on our future. We can have meaning and importance separate from the lives we had previously.’”

They added:

“Meghan doesn’t harbor any negative feelings. She just wants peace, and knows you can’t find peace if you harbor resentments.”

She seemed to address this herself earlier this month in Colombia, saying:

“So much of how I approach things is less about the fight and more about how do we show up in the space and wash things over with love and kindness and generosity.”

Take her feud with Princess Catherine, for example. While she was happy to wish her well amid her cancer diagnosis, Meghan and Harry have not spoken out about other royal matters — and that’s on purpose. The family friend dished:

“Meghan’s team gets asked daily to comment on stuff that has nothing to do with their lives now. They have left it behind.”

She’s also left some of her own family members behind, like controversial father Thomas Markle, the first source said:

“Meghan still has no contact with her dad. She does not plan on having a relationship with him, and he has not met his grandkids. That ship has sailed.”

Instead, she leans on her pals and “has a great group of friends who are all successful in their own ways who she really trusts.” This includes Serena Williams and Ellen DeGeneres plus other local moms she meets up with regularly. The first insider added that she’s “very close” with neighbor and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd while a second insider said she’s befriended entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima, cofounder of IT Cosmetics.

Things are a bit more difficult for Harry. He “has a small [group] of close friends,” the second source shared, claiming he prefers to keep his inner circle small for “understandable reasons.” While that may be true, we have been hearing his UK friends don’t like his wife and that’s a big reason he’s become more lonely. Not to mention, most live in the UK, and he had to move to California — so that can’t be easy! Regardless, it sounds like he’ll always put his family first, the source went on:

“He’ll always be fond of his home country, but the way he views it, his wife and kids are his priority. If that means making sure they’re safe and happy in Montecito, then he supports that.”

The husband and wife are both very hands-on parents who want their kids Archie and Lilibet to have normal childhoods despite their fame, the family friend continued:

“They take the kids to school, they pick them up, and they are very active and present with them throughout the day.”

Referencing the Duke’s battle for security in the UK, the family friend insisted the children are going to stay out of the spotlight for their safety, noting:

“I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t. … [Prince] William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable. And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does.”

It sounds like the kids may not even understand their royal heritage yet, as the friend pointed out, “they’ll have those conversations in due time.” Right now, Meg and Harry want the little ones to feel loved for who they are:

“They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is vibrant and happy.”

The second source added that the parents are happy just being parents right now. Thankfully they apparently have plenty of time despite working on their Archewell Foundation campaigns and launching their business ventures. But as the kids get older, anything is possible:

“Afterwards who’s to say? But I think the focus is very much on raising their two children.”

And staying on the same page really helps. Meghan and Harry have been leaning on each other for support this whole time, the friend shared:

“They’re so in sync. Throughout their relationship, they’ve stood together no matter what.”

The second insider revealed that they enjoy downtime together and try to keep a positive mindset and are motivated to do their best work always, saying:

“It’s rooted in the bonds they share together.”

As for their new life in California, they do a lot of low-key activities like gardening, hiking, and cooking. The second insider described it as “a California lifestyle.” What, they don’t garden in Merry Old England??

While it was no doubt difficult to walk away from the royal family, they do have a big bonus now. They can work on “projects they are passionate about as opposed to being given projects to do,” making the work “more personal,” the second insider dished. Good point!

Along with The Parents’ Network, Meghan is working on her new initiative, the Welcome Project, which helps empower female refugees from Afghanistan. A third source who has worked with the former actress told the outlet:

“Female advocacy remains a centerpiece of her philanthropic intent.”

She’s also looking forward to launching her lifestyle brand sometime early next year, around the time her new Netflix series is supposed to premiere. The second source expressed:

“[ARO] will likely be very much in line with who Meghan is as a person. She loves hosting events, and she’s very thoughtful about how she treats her guests whenever they come over.”

The third insider said her series “is going to be a take on her and the joy of living,” including “little things she’s learned in terms of being a modern-day hostess.” It’s been rumored Harry may make an appearance. For now, the sources just promised there would be many familiar faces joining in.

So, Meghan has a lot on her plate coming up — but she’s NOT planning to run for office, return to acting, or write a memoir despite rampant rumors, the third confidant maintained. She’s just being Meghan:

“Meghan’s in the middle of her story right now.”

Maybe one day! Right now, a big passion of the 43-year-old’s is simply to give back, the family friend added:

“She knows her life would be extraordinarily different if she did not marry who she married. There is privilege and so much room to do good. She wants to meet the moment and make good on her good fortune.”

The friend noted that it was hard for her to “be herself” in the royal household which is why this change of pace is so refreshing, they shared:

“Most people are not really allowed to be themselves — if you’ve watched The Crown, I think that’s pretty understood.”

That’s why she’s so excited about this moment:

“There’s air and space and room. She can just be who she is.”

It’s certainly an exciting time with so much still to come from Meg! We just hope her business ventures and media projects are more successful this time around! Otherwise, she’s gonna have to come up with a whole new plan!

The disgraced actor took to his Instagram account on Tuesday to share a video of him standing by his pickup truck in a CarMax parking lot. He noted that it wasn’t an ad, and that he was really having to sell his car to save money and start a “new life.” He said:

“I bought this for myself in 2017 as a Christmas gift for myself. I have loved this truck intensely and … on road trips and I took it for one last road trip to Carmax. This is because I’m selling my truck. I have put about 4 or 500 dollars worth of gas in it and I can’t afford it.”

After spending time in the Cayman Islands following his divorce from Elizabeth Chambers and after sexual assault and cannibalism allegations, he is finally back in Los Angeles and has been “for a couple of weeks.” This prompted him to make a change, he detailed:

“I got a new car, it’s tiny, it’s a hybrid, I’m probably going to put about ten bucks in gas in it a month.”

Despite already getting a new car, the 38-year-old was having reservations about selling. He said his kids Harper, 9, and Ford, 7, were “not happy about this,” telling the camera:

“They’re, like, ‘Dad all of our memories in the truck.’”

He added:

“So I haven’t told them yet. But I’ll tell them and they’ll be fine, kids are adaptable. I just keep telling myself that parking is going to be easier and gas is going to be cheaper.”

We mostly had been thinking of Ryan’s little rewrite as it pertained to the It Ends With Us drama. You know, how she and Ryan allegedly took over the movie from director Justin Baldoni? But we apparently missed the bigger scandal!

IEWU began filming in May 2023 — just three days prior to the Writers Guild of America strike. You know, the one which barred guild members — like Ryan — from writing for Hollywood productions until the strike ended in late September??

If Ryan truly rewrote the scene during filming, as she said, he did so against strike rules! That’s right! Her so-called superhero was actually being a SCAB! Heck, it’s possible she went to her hubby because the film’s actual writer wasn’t allowed to touch up the scene! If that’s true, Ryan could get in big trouble! All because Blake wanted to brag about how cool and funny her husband was? Oof.

The WGA hasn’t officially commented on the matter, but a source told Variety he put in his writing efforts for the film in April 2023. Oh, well isn’t that convenient? We guess it would be tricky to prove when he put pen to paper. But damn. That’s messed up if true!

Last Tuesday, the 18-year-old posted a video to social media in which she revealed that she’s having trouble finding a place to rent in Denver, Colorado while she attends college at Regis University in the Mile High City. Sucks, right?! She noted in the video, originally uploaded on August 20, that her and boyfriend Dralin Carswell (who is living with her in Denver but not in school there) were in a housing crunch and needed to secure a place to move ASAP.

In the vid, Alana begged her social media followers to help find them a home, and claimed it was the presence of Dralin’s outstanding student loans on his credit that is freezing things up:

And Alana herself has “zero credit,” as she quickly added! She noted in that week-old video:

“Alana has no credit. Alana has zero credit. Alana’s trying to build her credit but literally zero. Zilch. And quite frankly, I’m starting to freak out that we do not have a house to move into September 1, and it’s August 20, okay? So, I need help, my Denver peeps. I need help to find us a house.”

And the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star concluded:

“I’m not really on the side of apartments. … our dog really needs a yard. But, at this point, anything counts. Please. I’m begging. Help.”

So stressful!! And it’s in the news again now, a week after Alana originally shared the video on TikTok, because Mama June re-posted it to her Instagram account on Monday night! As you can see (below), Mama June noted in the caption that her daughter and Dralin were still looking for a place to live ASAP in Denver:

Naturally, with the 45-year-old From Not To Hot star having re-posted the video, fans immediately popped up in the comments section with demands that Mama June help out! After all, Mama June has been accused of doing some SUPER shady s**t with Alana’s money in the past! And she hasn’t exactly denied using the teenager’s television earnings for herself when called on it, either! So, it made sense that fans started asking Mama June to step up financially for her daughter:

“Maybe have your mom or boyfriend’s mom co-sign for a place.”

“How bout you buy her a house MamaJune and then flip sell it when she graduates? If WE can rent a stunt house for Pumpkin y’all can’t do the same for Boo Boo?”

“Mama June, buy a condo/place in Colorado and let Lana and her man pay the mortgage.”

“Are y’all forgetting she only has been out of high school 1 year, how about her mom do something to help her daughter [now that] she’s in college.

But…

That might not be the whole story! Aside from whether Mama June is going to step up (doubtful, TBH, as she has big problems of her own), other fans pointed out in the comments that Dralin’s student loan debt is almost certainly NOT the issue holding things up! Instead, it’s possibly his criminal record!! They noted:

“It’s not the student loans that is holding it up it’s his past criminal record.”

“Doubtful it’s the student loans… more likely the arrest record.”

“Boyfriend needs to go home to Georgia. Stay on campus and enjoy these years.”

“A student loan debt will not prevent you from renting. There’s more to this story — it doesn’t add up!”

“Having a criminal record could have something to do with it to. I hope you find something.”

“It might be time to consider living in the dorms and the boyfriend goes back home until you graduate.”

On Tuesday, publisher Penguin Random House announced that the Duke of Sussex‘s book will be published in paperback in the US on October 22. And two days later, on October 24, it’ll hit shelves in the UK! But there’s an interesting addition to note here that is TOTALLY changing the dynamic of this version. And if it works… it might be a major step towards reconciliation with Harry’s estranged father King Charles, and his estranged brother Prince William.

See, in addition to announcing those October release dates on Tuesday, the publisher also announced that the contents of the paperback version of Spare will remain completely unchanged from the hardcover version! That’s a big deal!! In most cases, paperback editions include extra chapters and content so as to entice people to buy them long after the hardcover versions of books have come out.

But with Spare, there will be NO changes. So, no new surprises to William, Charles, and the rest of the royal family! We thought for a long time that there would be additional chapters involved in the paperback version. But Penguin Random House has opted not to go that route.

And that’s why this is such a big (non) move. Per People, insiders are already noting that the decision to run the book without any updates is widely being viewed as a small but important step towards reconciliation between Harry and his estranged family. There’s no other shoe to fall, no more drama to reveal, no more surprises to unearth. They’ll know what to expect with the paperback version and (theoretically) be able to handle it!

This means that Jenny from the Block is financially entitled to share profits from the company’s recent hits, such as Air, the upcoming Unstoppable which she stars in, The Instigators, Small Things Like These, and The Accountant 2. Because of this, Matt could get dragged into the divorce, too, since he is a major stakeholder in the company. It’s currently unclear exactly what may play out.
