Obviously, Jax is “leaning on” his pals during this difficult time. An insider told The US Sun on Wednesday that he and Jesse have even become closer than ever as they both are dealing with divorces from their longtime partners. Remember, Jesse and his wife Michelle Saniei broke up earlier this year, just days before the first season of The Valley premiered. So if anyone understands what Jax is experiencing right now is him! The source said:

“He is close with Jesse Lally right now and they are leaning on each other amid divorces. Jesse invited him out on Tuesday evening to Craig’s to support him after the news. Jax arrived about 7 pm and left two hours later. He got in an SUV and then drove down and got Jesse and his new girlfriend, who also jumped in before they headed home.”

It sounds like they had an early night!

“His friends don’t want to leave him alone at the moment, and are rallying around him, but they also have children and responsibilities and I hear he went home alone on Tuesday night.”

As for how Jax is doing after the filing, though? While he “respects” Brittany’s decision to divorce him, he is also “gutted” by how things turned out — which is why his pals, including Jesse, “don’t want to leave him alone” right now. The insider explained:

First, before J.Lo finally filed for divorce, sources claimed her inner circle, including her longtime manager Benny Medina, HATED her hubby. Not a great sign! More recently, because they seemingly didn’t have a prenup before tying the knot, Ben’s bestie Matt Damon could get dragged into the messy divorce, which we bet has soured him on Jenny from the Block!

The duo started their production company Artists Equity after the Bennifer wedding, meaning Ben’s stake is now community property in the divorce, according to TMZ. So the singer is entitled to financial interest from their films and could fight Ben for some of his stake in the company! With all that in mind, it got us thinking… If J.Lo’s friends never liked Ben, how did his friends feel about her?? Was everyone seeing the red flags or nah?!

Well, it turns out The Martian star was actually very open about how he felt about the lovebirds when they rekindled things. In 2021, Matt chatted with Extra on the red carpet of his movie Stillwater and he weighed in on the romance, sharing:

“I’m just so happy for him.”

So, not exactly a glowing report or any kind of comment on Jennifer herself. Just that he’s happy for his friend. Hmm. It seemed like such a sweet sentiment at the time, but looking back, was this a little cryptic? Was he purposefully not mentioning the other half of the relationship?? Hmm.

FWIW, the 53-year-old did acknowledge Jennifer a little later on — but he still kept his thoughts vague, adding:

But he did gush about them both, saying:

Back then, Matt seemed to like the Hustlers alum, as far as we can tell. So we guess it was only her friends seeing the warning signs before anyone else!

But as Ben’s bestie, we wonder if Matt has a different opinion these days?? We mean, he must if he’s about to get caught in the middle of the divorce, right? Matt’s been by Ben’s side throughout this whole split, and the pair have been spending a ton of time together both before and after the filing. BTW, the book is a French novel by Virginie Despentes about a “B-list novelist” who insults an actress online and they “strike up a combative correspondence.” And get this! The guy gets “accused of sexual harassment by his former publicist.” The book touches deeply on the patriarchy and addiction, per Macmillan Publishers. It’s the September pick for Kaia and Alyssa Reeder‘s Library Science book club, too, which was also announced on the day this was posted.

But adding in a subtweet of “someone” she used to know is… another level! Obviously with the sexual politics the book is playing in, we have to think she’s blasting a guy she dated.

In recent years, Kaia’s been linked to Jacob Elordi and, briefly, Pete Davidson. She’s currently dating Austin Butler — at least, if they’re still good. Who is this book message for? Well, they all have sisters, so that won’t help narrow down the mystery man! Who do Y’ALL think she could be calling out?? In case you missed it, the Blossom alum’s estranged wife, Samantha Cope, filed for divorce after only two years of marriage. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason, nothing too shocking. However, we soon learned something more scandalous possibly happened that caused the breakup! It came out that Joey allegedly had an affair with his Socked In For Christmas co-star, Melina Alves! What?!

The shocking accusation came from her estranged husband, Edward Rider, in his divorce documents filed last month! He claimed he found out about the cheating in late March.

As for Samantha? She has not publicly addressed the affair rumors. However, a source for People claimed last week that Joey “continued to date Melina even after Samantha found out about it and confronted him.” So awful! The insider then claimed the 37-year-old actress “wanted to go to counseling” afterward, but he “fooled their counselor” and got “ready for dates with Melina while Sam watched, bawling her eyes out” instead. We wouldn’t blame Samantha if this is why she left Joey! This sounds like a horrible situation! Who treats their wife so callously? Jeez!

However, a source then told the outlet on Sunday that “infidelity isn’t the cause” of their divorce “not by a long shot.” Well, it’s not exactly a denial of the allegations! But you know who is flat-out denying them now? The alleged mistress herself!

On Wednesday, Melina Alves took to Instagram to insist “there was no sexual relationship” between her and Joey while filming the holiday movie. Instead, she says they just struck up a “meaningful friendship” on set. Hmm. She wrote:

“It is with a deep sadness and heavy heart that I must address the recent allegations about the relationship between myself and Joey Lawrence, which have unfortunately become a public matter. As a private person, it is deeply distressing to see such personal and sensitive issues being discussed so openly and inaccurately. First and foremost, I want to clarify that there was no sexual relationship between Joey and myself while we were on set filming Socked in for Christmas. Our relationship was a meaningful friendship that developed naturally due to the many similarities in our personal situations. When I met Joey, I was immediately struck by his kindness, warmth and genuine character. We found common ground in our shared experiences, which led to a strong supportive friendship that has been a source of strength for both of us.”

OK, obviously the way she’s describing Joey is very… intimate. But we also can’t just drive by this wording here. She says “there was no sexual relationship between Joey and myself while we were on set filming Socked in for Christmas.” While we were on set filming. That’s a hell of a qualifier, right? She’s not saying “there is no sexual relationship” or “there has been no sexual relationship.” She’s saying specifically not at that time and place. It feels like the way a politician answers a question, right? Someone really cooked that answer for legal reasons, right??

When it comes to her own marriage, Melina claimed she and Edward have been “estranged” since January 2023 and “living in separate rooms” since then:

“Our marriage had been struggling for some time, and the separation was a necessary step for both of us. I have always valued my privacy, and it is incredibly painful to have such personal matters thrust into the public eye in a way that has caused harm not only to me but also to Joey, who has been unjustly dragged into this situation.”

Melina wrapped up the lengthy post, noting she made the “difficult and deeply personal decision” to obtain a temporary restraining order against her ex. Whoa. She doesn’t provide more explanation into her decision, other than to say Edward “has presented situations that necessitated” her to get the restraining order and “protect” herself during “a time of vulnerability.” Read the full statement (below):

In fact, the pair allegedly were still living together earlier this year. We mean, she did note they were “living in separate rooms” under the same roof — not living separately in different houses. So both could be true. Just saying!

However, the insiders claim she went “ballistic” when he filed to end their marriage and ran to the court to get the restraining order, which he thinks will be thrown out. We’ll see! On Tuesday, The Sun reported that while being a part of the show and going on dates, the soap star has secretly been nurturing a new romance off cameras! That’s right, the 34-year-old is apparently dating former soccer star Robbie Talbot, which goes against the show’s rules. But guess what? Network execs at E4 apparently know about it, and they are working with her to come up with a plan to keep her on the show!! A source told the outlet:

“Helen tried to keep the relationship under wraps because of Celebs Go Dating. But that’s become difficult as their feelings have grown for each other. It came to a head when she was quizzed by the dating agents about why she was failing to pursue connections on the show. The one rule of CGD is stars must be single. But E4 bosses were desperate to keep her, so found a way to write Robbie into the show.”

Whoa! They really do seem “desperate”! The insider continued:

“Sources on set have seen him filming alongside Helen. While it’s not known how E4 will justify the fakery, viewers will feel they’re trying to pull the wool over their eyes.”

As per the show’s guidelines, all participating celebrities must be single. After discussing the situation, it was decided that Helen and her partner, Robbie, would meet with the agents to assess their compatibility, and Helen would no longer date members of the public. These developments will be featured on the show starting from episode 10.”
